On Thursdays, there is the Happiest Hour- $7 glasses. I came in today, Thursday, and I was shocked that I was the only one there. It's a beautiful space- surrounded by oak barrels. This great winery has a very experienced and knowledgeable host, Tom. The wine was great. I tasted the rose and the white- then decided on a glass of rose and took home a bottle of the white (Viognier.) Tom entertained me for the time that I was there with his experiences of 40 years of building vineyards, but met me on my level of not knowing much about the winemaking process. They also have wine paraphernalia and arts for sale. Great experience, highly recommended. read more

This was one of our stops while wine tasting in the rattlesnake hills area. Nice tasting room, love the bright painting. Tasting fee is $5 for any 4 tastes. The gentleman pouring the wine was friendly however the pours were very small. The wines were ok, probably not my palate but they have a variety of options with whites, red and dessert wine. read more

Our last stop during our Zillah wine trip and we are so glad we checked it out. Unique and delicious wines unlike any others we've tried. The owner himself hosted our tasting, and was a gem! He purposefully selected rare grapes for his vineyards and told us about each and every one we tasted. We left purchasing a bottle of each one we tried. Very special. read more

This was our first stop on the Rattle snake Hill. Trails. A party of 9 with one employee was ahead of us. She was very nice and apologized for how long it took we didn't mind, the large group was quite demanding. We purchased a sweet delicious Orange port from there. The Malbec had black grainy sediments & the Muscat port had a weird sludge debris on the side of the glass. When she noticed she gave us a different glass. I loved the gift shop. And will be back to buy gifts & the Orange port again! read more

We have historically liked this place a lot and bought the petit verdot but it has gone downhill in the last couple years in wine quality and service. This visit we only liked one wine, the Carmenere, which we bought. She only comped two of our three tasting fees when we bought over $70 worth of wine. We were even charged tax on said tasting fee. Was recommended to go to this winery by another nearby due to the unique varietals not common to the area. Unfortunately, the wine didn't live up to the potential. All of the wines had a consistent, odd flavor. Almost like the bottles had some cleaning solution still inside at time of bottling. The tasting room decor seemed mid-garage sale. This was one of the first wineries in the area and one of the best. They were the first and still few to produce a beautiful dry and sweet Picpoul Blanc. Their Viognier is spectacular and their Orange Muscat dessert wines are simple and beautiful. Let's not even get into their reds... Okay, I will. Big, bold and rich Pinor Noir, Malbec and Petit Verdot are musts. To top it all off they have a Rose Port that tastes as beautiful as it sounds. read more

3 Stars for the wines, 2 stars for the winery. I only tasted two wines here, the Petite Verdot and the Malbec. Both wines had good balance and good depth in flavor. The wines here are a little pricey, but they do have some good two bottle deals. Tanjuli winery is pretty small with a small selection of varietals, but it's not a winery I would pass up if in the area (well if you have time). The winery.... well from the outside Tanjuli isn't much to look at, basically a tin shed on a gravel driveway with not much landscaping to speak of (not a classical french Chateau). Once you get inside the "shed" you find some redeeming characteristics. There's a nice long (L) shaped tasting bar which helps with groups. The one thing I wasn't expecting when I walked in the door was art on display and for sale. When you first walk in, the valcan lady from their label is beauitfully painted and pretty impressive. Most of the inside is their barrel room which gives off that quintessential aroma which sparks your desire to taste wine (a big plus). -Bottom line .... if wine tasting in the Rattlesnake (AVA) Tanjuli is right across from Wineglass Cellars so just go and hit both, what else do you have to do?? read more

One of the nicer facilities of the small producers. Very limited production. We were late in the day and the staff was absolutely ready to get out of there so it felt really rushed. That took some of the fun out of the experience. We bought 2 cases of wine getting favorite bottles from each winery we really enjoyed. We did not buy a bottle here. No complaints as wine is very personal. Just not our style and like I said, not the best customer experience. read more

From the road Tanjuli Winery doesn't look like much, a simple building with the name on the side and a landscape consisting of small young trees and plants. They have tons of parking space. They also have a small but beautiful vineyard (about 7 acres if I remember). Inside Tanjuli is everything you could want, rows of great smelling wine barrels surround the tasting room, they have a huge mural of their label on the wall, and an L-shaped solid wood counter to taste at, they even have stools to sit down. They have some pretty nice photography on display as well. The wine is great, especially the Petit Verdot and the Late Harvest Orange Muscat. The Montana grown Pinot Noir is out of this world. The prices seem on the high side at first but once I tasted I swore I was getting a deal. Willamette Pinot Noir can't compare to this 11 year old Montana Pinot, and at $45 its higher quality and cheaper than more premier Pinots from Oregon. Visiting Tanjuli is a MUST for anyone who wants to taste real first class wine from the Rattlesnake Hills in Yakima Valley Washington. They have a tasting fee that is waived with purchase., but believe me, once you taste you will want to purchase. read more

We were on a self guided wine tour of Washington, and after a few days in Woodinville we drove down to Zillah. We were looking for a couple of particular wineries when we decided to stop in to Tanjuli on a whim. We were very glad we did. A very nice lady poured us several wines from the tasting list. We enjoy all types of wine, even appreciating sweeter wines for their flavor although that is not what we usually drink. The first wine we tasted was a 2016 Picpoul Blanc dry. This was an unfamiliar white wine varietal for us. It was delightful, with spicy citrus flavors. A very fragrant and balanced wine. We also tried the Viognier which we enjoyed as well. Switching to reds, we tasted the 2014 Carménère. This was a deep and rewarding red, a favorite varietal of ours, and just what we enjoy drinking at home. Next we sampled the Aglianico/Sagrantino blend. These grapes were unfamiliar as well, but we thoroughly enjoyed this red. The server continued with the Nebbiolo, the Petit Verdot and the Black Muscat Port. All three were fine wines. We already shipped two cases of wines of wines from Woodinville back to our home in Maine, and were now filling a third case with Tanjuli's Picpoul Blanc dry, Carménère, Aglianico/Sagrantino blend and the Black Muscat port. I am now kicking myself for not including the Petit Verdot! Highly recommend a stop here particularly if you enjoy rich and complex reds. read more

I had a really nice time visiting Tanjuli with my partner. We arrived during a tasting festival, and were welcomed warmly by the owners. They were patient with my questions (I don't have any formal knowledge of wine tasting), and they helped me to distinguish the subtleties between the varietals. The winemaker, Tom, seemed very passionate about his work, and thoughtfully explained the processes of the craft, and why he chose the unique grapes to grow. We ended up buying two different varieties, and really enjoyed them both! I will definitely be back! read more

Really enjoyed my experience visiting Tanjuli. Tom and Hema were incredibly gracious and welcoming. Tom is an expert at his craft and produces some delicious wine with unique varietals. He took the time to explain his process and educate us on the wines that he makes. I particularly enjoyed the Carmenere and went home with a bottle of Picpoul Blanc (my personal favorite). I should also mention that they had tamales available for purchase outside the tasting room .. a nice treat to sit in the sunshine tasting wine and enjoying homemade tamales. We stopped by in summer 2012 and left with a bottle of the 2008 malbec. Just opened it and WOW...worth the wait, and even better after 30 mins. Would love to get my hands on a few more of these. I drink a fair amount of malbecs and this one clearly rises into the top 5. We visited about a doz. wineries around Toppenish and this was one of the best. read more

We attended Hounds and Harvest, a fundraiser for a dog rescue. This winery advertised as a participant offering frisbee games for dogs. But when we arrived we were told no dogs and the lady in the tasting room asked if we had the correct day. All of the other wineries were great and welcoming to us and our dogs. read more

Be sure to stop at Tanjuli when you're out wine tasting. As another reviewer remarked, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, there's a lovely long bar with stools where you can sit and relax while you taste the wines. We enjoyed the wines here better than any other winery in the area. Tanjuli has been around long enough not only to have honed their craft, but also to have some older vintages on offer in the tasting room. We don't often take home more than one bottle at any winery and we don't typically spend more than $30, but we liked their 2001 pinot noir and the 2003 gewurztramier so much that we felt we had to take both. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by. read more
