After messing around with them for a few months I decided to follow some advise and visit Dr. Gullo. He fitted me, had the appliance made, custom fit it, worked with my insurance, etc. Everything was all taken care of in a very prompt and professional way. The side of my upper gum formed an abscess that I let fester for over a year out of fear and humiliation. Realizing my health was at great risk, I began my search for a new Dentist. I decide upon Aspen Dental. I am so glad I found them. They are courteous, and very welcoming. Upon inspection of my mouth it was decided I needed the dreaded word, Root canal! (Having feared that all my adult life) Dr Parvathanei did my Root canal. It had festered way too long and Dr P worked hard to save my tooth, through much decay and infection. Dr P was very caring through the long procedure, making sure I did not have any pain or discomfort, which I did not. He is a kind and caring and gentle Dentist...No pain at all, and there wasn't even any pain after when I got home. "Thank You" very Much

Ugh. I wanted to change dentists because the one I've been going to for over 20 years is so hard to…read moreget into. It takes months just for a cleaning for both my son and myself. Example, I called in May as my last appointment got canceled due to the hygienist calling off. I ask to reschedule and they can't get us in until late February. I wanted to stay local so thought I'd give aspen a try. Annoying I could only schedule an exam and X-rays. They wanted me to do the exam and X-rays and then schedule to come back for a cleaning. My current dentist does all in one appointment. Well I won't be changing dentists. After my exam the doc tried saying I have gingivitis which I was shocked. I am a brush twice a day and floss each day person. I've never had any issues with my teeth. Ever. The doc didn't even tell me this. My exam was literally less than 30 seconds and the hygienist said "that's the fastest exam I've ever seen, nice job". When I got to the receptionist she is the one that said the doc said you have gingivitis and need a deeper cleaning than covered by insurance. Oh. And buy our electric toothbrush that we have a coupon for. I do NOT like being sold to so I said I have a right to partner in my care and I want the regular cleaning. The receptionist doubled down and said I had to do what was recommended. When I refused she said I had to set up another appointment with the doc and hygienist to discuss that. Seriously? I didn't even use my entire time from my appointment because I got such good accolades from my exam and X-rays. The experience got worse when I said I wanted my X-rays as in just going back to my dentist with this run around. It took 6 days to get them as the front desk associate said she got too busy and forgot to email them to me. Two stars as the front desk was apologetic that she forgot and she was nice. Oh, and my dentist just did the regular cleaning and said nice job. I had to schedule at one of their satellite offices and drive a half hour separately for my son and myself but that will teach me on attempting to change. Don't go to Aspen. I'm sticking with my regular dentist and biting the bullet to make the drive to a further office since my local one can't get me in. My dentist said that there was absolutely no reason for Aspen to have recommended "perio" to me. I see in the response from Aspen they didn't acknowledge their dentists' recommendation being a sales gig vs an actual client need. Aspen was trying to get me to pay $238 for a cleaning vs the regular cleaning insurance covers. Again, when I got into my dentists satellite office, the dentist said it was absolutely not needed and I have great teeth and gum health. Just a sales ploy at Aspen. Do not go there.

It's not a "conventional" office per se, and the first time I went I wasn't even sure that I had the right place. It's run out of a house, and I didn't see any signs. There were also a lot of vehicles that looked like they needed work in the parking lot. For a second I considered that it might be a mechanic. But it is definitely a dental office! I have read numerous reviews that mention rude staff, but I have not experienced that at all. Both the dentist and the hygienist have been extremely talkative and friendly. There IS a cat, which I actually really like, though I have only seen it once chittering at birds from the window. The waiting room has comfy couches, a tv with streaming services on it, magazines, and some other random things to keep you busy. I DO have to agree with reviews that say the office needs to be cleaned. The waiting room is nice, but back where you have dental work done the place needs some love. It would really be my only complaint so far. I was surprised that he was going to use gas for my filling, though he did not have a problem with me declining it at all. He said they do it because most people hate the needles, and it sounds like it is their standard care for dental procedures. A plus for those that have anxiety, for sure. The filling process itself was great. It was probably the easiest filling I have ever had, honestly! He used something called air abrasion instead of the traditional drill, and I got through it without gas, needle numbing, or any discomfort whatsoever, which I was very happy about. I can't comment on whether or not they are good about emergency visits, because fortunately I have not needed one of those yet. And I have also read one review that mentioned dental work like fillings not lasting. I can not comment on that either because my filling is new, but I will definitely update if any issues arise!

Don't be fooled by the appearances. This office may seem "confortable with a good staff" but it's…read moreall a joke. The instruments never pass the sterilization test, so you can catch a bacteria in any moment; if the doctor is by himself be prepared to catch a infection too bc he's re-using equipment without cleaning it; the back office is a disaster and looks like a basement (boxes everywhere and old machines that doesn't work but he will re use in order not to spend some bucks in new ones); you can see cat hair flying over the patients open mouth; the doctor constantly lost track of procedures in patients because doesn't follow the appointments book; he doesn't keep record of payments and double charge patients that clearly already paid so if the patient didn't ask for a receipt they will find a big problem because the doctor always forgets everything and won't remember that you already paid). This doctor may seen "nice and kind" but behind his warm personality theres a sick and a liar person. He has a taste in young women in their 20's and every time a young patient comes he starts to do comments about her looks and ask them about their marital status to offer them job in this office with more personal intentions. Not to mention his "fake hugs".. You can see the uncomfortable face in the patients when he does that without asking first. He's dishonest, don't have ethic and treat his assistants like trash this is the reason why all the assistants he had do not last more than 1 month, but he will tell you another story(that didn't work out bc she was problem). A person who knows their value and has ethics will never stay in this unprofessional place. So if you are a mom who has a young daughter or you are thinking in working in this place please please keep looking. I'm not saying this because of hate, I'm saying this because I wished someone who knows what is going on in there and works in that place would have told me this before.

So we are continuing to rely on Dr. Popelka and staff despite the commute. The administrative folks are very accommodating and take care of everything. This is not the case in other offices. I did not realize how many details they handle so that I don't have that burden. The dental care is outstanding. I have had some pretty intense work done over the years, and pain management is always stellar. Dr. Popelka has a real gift when it comes to administering the perfect level of pain control, unlike a different dentist who told me that pain during procedures is to be expected and I needed to learn to deal with it. Procedures are carefully explained, with options when possible. Any adjustment or discomfort after the procedure is swiftly and competently handled.
