I had a root canal done today because of the pain and he soaked me for another $1559! These are his mistakes and he's too arrogant to own up to it and eat the cost. He tried telling me he could do a partial root canal, but it wouldn't be a good idea! This was his idea of "trying to work with me" I am going to report Sandro to every agency I can think of! So we are continuing to rely on Dr. Popelka and staff despite the commute. The administrative folks are very accommodating and take care of everything. This is not the case in other offices. I did not realize how many details they handle so that I don't have that burden. The dental care is outstanding. I have had some pretty intense work done over the years, and pain management is always stellar. Dr. Popelka has a real gift when it comes to administering the perfect level of pain control, unlike a different dentist who told me that pain during procedures is to be expected and I needed to learn to deal with it. Procedures are carefully explained, with options when possible. Any adjustment or discomfort after the procedure is swiftly and competently handled.

I have an Excellus plan through the marketplace. They initially told me that I would receive a reimbursement check in 4-6 weeks... That time had passed so I called back and someone said they would get back to me later that day (no one ever did...). I waited another WEEK and had to call back again. When I spoke to a person this time they had trouble looking me up because the person initially taking down my information had it completely wrong... same birthday (month/day) but wrong year, same first name, but wrong last name, and the wrong street address (but the same street number...). Very odd and unprofessional - it seemed like they were trying to multitask or looking at information from two different sheets... It made enough sense to confirm it was me, but had SO MANY errors. Either way once that was resolved she said I would get a check for reimbursement withing a week. Another Week goes by and nothing so I call back AGAIN! And this time I find out that they cannot submit the claim because its through the state (I don't know how they missed that on my initial visit, but they did.) SO I had to call insurance and submit the claim on my own just to find out that Gorges dental was "out of network" - so now Im stuck paying "out of pocket". I WOULD AVOID THIS DENTIST AT ALL COST IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE THROUGH EXCELLUS, OR ANY PLAN THROUGH "THE STATE".

I had my re-do root canal this morning and feeling great (even with the novacaine wearing off). Dr said today would be the most painful but feeling good. The office is clean, everyone is friendly, and the space is quaint. It's kind of nice to walk into a small practice vs one that is ever bustling and busy with wait times beyond your scheduled appointment. Dr clearly explains the procedure and is friendly.

They could not get my mouth numb and kept on drilling . I finally said no more . my mouth at this point was throbbing. She ordered me an anabiotic and still had me pay half of the appointment and was told to come back in a few weeks. I never thought that I would pay $1700 for a procedure and be sent home as uncomfortable as I was. I let them know that I was still in pain and I was told call back tomorrow and maybe they can get you in $1700.
