I can never actually speak to a human being when calling. I had an eye infection and needed an appt right away. I was not able to get an appt on the phone, so I made one on their website. There was no option for an emergency appt that I could find so I had to choose the option for an eye exam. Then, I was billed for a full eye exam and since I had one a few months ago, my insurance didn't pay. I called the billing dept, waited on hold for 30", finally left a message to call me back. 2 days went by and no call back, so had to drive over to the office and found that although the office was open, no billing person was there to help me. Warning to new patients:…read more This has to be the most pretentious doctor's office I have ever encountered. I have had appointments, cancelled, and rescheduled with prominent doctors all across the country in major cities that are trained in some of the best programs in the nation, but this small town doctor with unimpressive credentials is unreal with his pretentious policies and inflated ego. I called the office to make an appointment, and I was told it takes six weeks to make an appointment with him because "so many people are waiting to see him." Fine. I make the appointment. A month goes by. Two weeks before the appointment I have to leave town for work. I call the office two weeks ahead of time to say that I need to cancel my appointment, and that I will reschedule once I know when I'll be back. I am told that as a new patient you are not allowed to cancel your first appointment. If you do, then you will NEVER be allowed to make an appointment again. This is a direct policy from the doctor. I am then informed, that new patients are allowed to reschedule one time on the spot, but they are not allowed to cancel first and reschedule later. I told the receptionist that I did not know when I would be back in town, and that it would be better if I just called at a later date when I could be sure. I am then told again that a cancellation is not allowed, and that if I proceed with a cancellation I will never be able to book another appointment. The reason I was given is because they held this spot for me and "so many people are waiting to see the doctor." This is absurd. If so many people are waiting to see the doctor then they should have no problem filling that spot immediately. Furthermore, I have never experienced this extreme of a cancellation policy with any office in my entire life. Cancellation policy is usually one, two, or three days ahead of time. I called two weeks ahead of time. That is more than plenty of time. This was not a last minute cancellation. Furthermore, how can a doctor's office expect a patient's schedule to never change? Especially when you make them book appointments six weeks out. People have lives and work. Now, because of this, I will never be allowed to make an appointment with this doctor for the rest of my life. Even if I need medical eye care, this doctor will refuse to see me because I cancelled an appointment two weeks ahead of time once because I had to leave town for work. Consider yourself warned potential patients. This is the most ridiculous and draconian policy I have ever heard of.

He embarrassed my 88 year old mother so terribly by how demeaning and rude he was. He was put off that we were 10 min late for the appt., (which we drove an hour to get to, and did not anticipate the construction, AND apologized for.) Regardless, nothing makes this childish behavior acceptable. While SHE asked HIM how he was, he never even bothered to ask her the same. It didn't even peak his interest, that she hadn't been there in 2 years and had visited a doctor in another state, (all noted in her record.) Happy to say that she has kicked cancer's ass. Any other dr. probably would have been interested in their longtime patients overall health and well-being. Probably even a stranger's. What a miserable human being.
