Chris and his team came for a free design consult and to inventory what I already had, looked at photos of past Christmases, and asked all the right questions to see what is was we wanted for our new look. To my surprise, Chris was able to get started within a week, and even completed the job while we were out of town. We felt completely comfortable having his team in our home unsupervised. They were efficient and cleaned up afterwards. We came home from our trip to a Christmas wonderland that went beyond all our expectations! We couldn't believe the majority of the pieces were things we already had; and was able to reimagine things I had considered "unusable". He even created a theme piece for my ill husband, which brought tears to his eyes, because the piece was so expertly created. I would describe Chris's style as "Elegance with an Edge". Chris came by (for free even) to see what I had and what I wanted done, and gave me the option of a whole job price or by the hour. Both worked out to be about the same. Since he mostly used what I already had, I went with the hourly rate. He was able to mostly take the decorations I had and turn them into something I would've never guessed they could be! The whole process was really fast, and the actual work was done in a day. I work from home, and after he arrived (on time, to my surprise!), I left him to do his work. I came out of my office later that afternoon and was astonished at what he was able to do! He had turned my existing "meh - nice try" decor into what I would describe as "classical elegance". Totally worth it, and would definitely use him again. It's taken a lot of holiday stress off of me where I can concentrate on other things.

This feels like a functional gift shop, where information is sold, rather than trinkets. However, you can buy trinkets, but of a more sturdy quality. They have some really cool St. Louis snow globes available, and some architectural models for the more adventurous hobbyist. I would suggest this to Downtown visitors who are acclimating themselves to St. Louis. It's actually quite informative to glance at the architectural history of the area before venturing off into other parts of the city.

As a bonus, it gives you an excuse to walk around in the lobby of the Lammert Building, a restored gem of a turn-of-the-century office building downtown.

They do not agree that after a flooring job has been complete that a customer should Assume that their doors, including the FRONT door will open and close! This is one of those situations where one person (let's call him Terry) knows that his employee (Humm let's call him Jeff) did not write a Bid correctly and then outsourced the Labor to a company that is not equipped to do the job!! Don't let the "SALE" price persuade you because they do not include or expect for a job to be complete. Terry actually said "well it doesn't say the doors will open" WTF! Terry originally verbally agreed that Jeff should have known that the new carpet would need a different installer! I didn't hire the outscourced company! I hired this sorry excuse of a flooring company! #SMALLCLAIMSCOURT #HORRIBLE

Throughout the entire build, I was given several updates as to work that was completed and upcoming work to be completed. They were at my disposal, through phone, conference calls, email, texts and even in person. Whenever I wanted to talk to them, they made themselves available. They NEVER made me feel like I was a bother to them or a disruption to their work, but rather a part of my project and the process. Throughout this process, I also worked tirelessly with interior designer, Heather Helms. She had the same level of professionalism, knowledge, experience and pleasant demeanor, as Schaub+Srote.
