DO NOT GO!!! My wife and her friend went and came home completely TRAUMATIZED! My wife got a massage and the man only covered her with a small bath towel and she said she was so uncomfortable and the massage was painful. Her friend got the scalp massage and said the man just pulled her hair and used horrible products. Her hair was matted and knotted when she let. This place is sketchy! read more

My daughter and I had wonderful 90-minute Swedish massages in the "couples" room. It was a surprise to receive both hot stone treatments on our backs and hot towel wipe-downs (to remove excess oil). The only criticism I have is the music -- although pleasant and relaxing -- was on a very short loop. If they had a music CD that was on a 15-minute loop instead of what felt like a 2-minute loop, it would have been perfect. Otherwise, the price can't be beat and the professionalism of the massage therapists was top-notch. Worst experience ever. They did not listen to instructions and ended up inflicting pain. They try to upsell you a higher time slot, even after telling them no three times. I should have walked out then, but wanted to help them out for the smallest time slot. Big mistake, of the 15 minutes, I was in pain for the last 6 minutes. Afterwards, had the audacity to demand a tip by aggressively pointing at the tip line on the credit card receipt. Tipping is earned not mandatory. I will never go back. read more

Absolutely terrible. The old Asian man who works there giving out massages HUNTED me down for a tip. Let me explain. I used a Groupon, so he took my phone and wrote down the voucher number and then I told him I forgot my wallet and had cash to give him for a tip he WOULD NOT give me my phone back until I went to my car and grabbed the cash. I did not feel comfortable doing so and whatever crawled up his pants and made him feel like he couldn't take my word . He was rude and finally someone had to step in for him to FINALLY give me my phone back and not only that he stalked me and followed me to my car !!!!!! ALL FOR A TIP. My second dose of the Pfizer vaccine left me feeling tired and with a gnarley headache. As far as side effects go I think I got off easy. I reached out to my regular massage therapist to schedule an appointment to hopefully help relieve the headache only to find she was booked for the rest of the week. She recommended I try reflexology in the interim so I hit up the google and found this place right around the corner. Booking the appointment was super easy. Just a quick text message and I was all set for a same day appointment. Upon arrival I found my therapist was ready to welcome me and get started. They confirmed my chosen services and got to work. Since it was my first reflexology appointment I opted for the 90 minute massage/reflexology combo which seemed like a bargain at $70. The rooms were clean and quiet and soft music was playing which compensated greatly for the relatively thin walls which are common in strip mall environments. The massage itself was good and my therapist paid special attention to release the tension in my neck, shoulders, and back which really helped edge out the headache. Following that with the best scalp massage I've ever had banished the last traces of the headache. I still love my regular massage therapist but In a pinch I'd definitely return to Tao Spa. Everyone here is so nice, I have been here about 6-7 times for reflexology and/or acupressure. I never have had a massage here so couldn't help y'all with that. But I have enjoyed almost every visit. Sometimes when it's busy (weekend evenings) it can be a little hectic and seems overbooked. But going during the day, it is wonderful! Every time I leave I am in a very relaxed head-space. My experience was pretty unnerving, I walked into the lobby and saw people getting worked on in the lobby with their clothes on. It was weird but fine, but I was brought back into a backroom and told to take all my clothes off. I did so because that is what I do normally with a massage. There was only a small towel to cover up with. The worst was that she left me uncovered during most of it and I would pull the towel back on cause I felt uncomfortable, but it didn't ever seem to stay on. I'm trying not to think too much into it, it was a woman who was massaging me and she was nice. I just won't go back there again. read more

My friend and I came to Alta and Snowbird for skiing, we just try to find a massage place near our hotel because our muscles were quite sore after first day's ski. Put my feet in a tub for a scheduled 90 minute foot and massage scheduled appointment and NO THERAPIST showed up. I got up 3 times to ask over the course of 30 minutes if any one would come and I was told they would. NO ONE showed up. Also, their therapy area is the front of store with no privacy. Great neighborhood spot. Not a true spa but it is a massage parlor which is fine with me. No frills which is also fine. Price is fair which is also fine by me now what is not fine by me is a male masseuse getting touchy. There is a way of being sensual and there is a way of giving a professional massage. Mine had sensuality in it and I'm not okay with that. It felt threatening. To get specific, if my whole body is covered in a towel why is there a need to uncover my buttocks while working on my arm or knee. Please respect the female body in the same way you would respect your sister or your wife's body. Don't accidentally graze my side of my stomach and ribs with your fingertips as you use your elbow to work my shoulder blade. That's too touchy. I have had countless massages, I want to say somewhere in the hundreds, and I've never had this issue. The masseuse is always professional and only touches the specific area where they are working on, nothing more nothing less. Male & female masseuses. Additionally, I do not need to feel the material of your sweat pants grazing my body each time you finish an area. In other words, your groin on my elbow. That's inappropriate and honestly I am surprised. I've gone here many times and I've had many male masseuse massages. Never had one issue. This time was different, I didn't get his name but he did say he's been there 2 years. I'm a voluptuous woman and all masseuses that have ever worked on me have always successfully avoided touching me this way. I will go back because it is an amazing place and I know what it's like running a small business, it's hard, everyone is looking for work and not everyone who's looking is the best fit. You try your best to hire the right people. It was not the owners. So I will give this another chance and I will be sure to ask for a woman next time. I try to come here at least once a week for reflexology. I always just walk in. They usually ask you "body or feet?" Body ends up being an ok traditional massage. Feet is reflexology, where they spend about half the time on a deep foot massage, and half on your head, face, joints, arms, legs, etc. This is done in a lazy boy kinda looking chair and feels incredible. It's like $36 for an hour which is a great price and you leave feeling great. You stay fully clothed and you don't get all greasy, so it's easy to do in the middle of the day or any time, really. read more

Asian Style Massage. people are giving it a bd wrap for the massage tables up front where people just lie down for the massage. others discuss massage with out clothes and a small towel. 1) these people haven't traveled. in many countries there are no towels. it's americans who feel uncomfortable being nude. if i have a lady massage without clothes she usually ska me in broken English if it is okay. she stands on your back so it may be slippery to have the towel on. 2) i quite enjoy getting the massage through my clothes because i don't want to get greasy and have to undress. 3) the tip situation is probably true. my daughter experienced the same thing when it appears they demand a tip. based on the massage costs and be fairly below market. if my massage is $45 for the hour who cares if i give a $9 tip. i think their communication is just limited compared to the younger 20-30 yr olds that work there. i always give my specific instructions to them because they don't understand when o want them to work on a specific area read more

I've been to Tao Spa several times now. My friend and I walked in the first time and it was so relaxing! We now go regularly and get the 60 minute Reflexology. It is held in front with no privacy, but you're fully clothed, so it doesn't really bother us. It would be nice if they could find a way to make it more private.
