The Tap House Grill is a regular in our rotation. There hasn't been one thing on the menu that I would not order again.

Ordered online and the message said our food would be ready in 20 minutes. Arrived about 20 minutes and it took my five minutes before anyone even acknowledged me standing there. The woman I spoke to said there was four orders in front of me. Well, twenty minutes later (so a total of 25 minutes) of waiting I get home and one of the burgers has no toppings. Menu says it comes with at least lettuce and pickles. The pick up people need some love too and the portion sizes of tater tots were pretty poor. read more

We had 9 people at 4:15, not on a weekend, and the food was not good. Also, only one item came from the kitchen at a time with 5 minutes between each one. My soup came out first and having manners, I waited until everyone else was served! Followed by 2 chilis, waited, a sandwich served, waited, 4 burgers were ordered but came out one at a time and finally tacos. My soup was tasteless. Never again. read more

My wife and I have worked in the food industry for years. We never really complain about a restaurant until today. Service was awful to the point that my wife had to get up and get things. We waited an hour for our food to get there and my sons took even more and the funny part was that his was just a grilled cheese w/ fries! We had phenomenal service at Tap House. We had a party of 24 and they set us up in a private room. The servers we had were amazing at splitting our bills, making sure food came out at the same time, and refilling our drinks. For appetizers we got a few orders of the pretzels and they were incredible! They were warm and paired perfectly with the cheese and honey mustard dipping sauces. For my entree I had the pesto chicken wrap. It was filling and fresh. They also had a nice bar list with rotating taps. read more

Ordered a tipsy stout burger, excited for the haystack of onion rings on top of burger and the sauce! Received order, had nothing on it but the blue cheese I added. No sauce, no onion rings..paid $22. Didn't have time to have them fix order since it took 40 min to pickup in the first place. Place has REALLY gonna down hill. Went last night, wasn't very busy at all (and we can now see why). Took 10 minutes to even get a waitresses' attention for drinks. We finally were able to order and food took over 45 minutes. Came out cold and just subpar quality all around. Now I understand times are tough, but waitress was not apologetic whatsoever and when we asked for something (like water for the table she neglected to bring) she acted like we were inconveniencing her. We used to come here a lot, but haven't been here in several months and will probably never come back. Wish we can give 0 stars that's what last night's experience deserved. read more

Ordered through Uber eats for me & my sisters (4 of us). No one ordered any type of fish. Opened food containers & we smell fish. The onion rings my sister ordered smelled like fish. You don't cook other items in the fish oil. We call the restaurant & they put it on the Uber eats delivery. So he cooked the food in the fish oil? We have been to this restaurant before and the service and food and waiter was great. We came back for a nice family dinner. 1 it took like 10 minutes to get notice by the waitress. 2 it took like 20 minutes for our waitress to notice we were waiting to get refills. 3 Our waitress was also just flat out rude. 4 the food was great like the first time! 5 there was no toilet paper or soap in the ladies restroom. Ugh. My waitress was great. Bartender sucked. My drink and my daughter's drink tasted awful. Like premade trash with a cup of sugar added. Food was absolutely awful. It's all frozen deep fried garbage. I literally left so I could make myself puke in the parking lot. Won't be going back. read more

Being a holiday we took a chance and stopped by one of our bi-monthly favorites. The place was packed and the servers we're running. We got lucky and our usual server was at our table. Justin (call him Cheech) remembers our drink orders every time and never fails to be right there when you want. Excellent service no matter who is taking your order and the cocktails are done properly. I've never had an issue with any food, and I've tried most of it, even a salad. Tap House used to be near us in Darien, but this one in Lemont is well worth the drive. Credit to management for getting this crew together and being able to keep the quality up. We'll be back over and over. read more

Great take out food! We started with the Prime Rib Trio Sliders. Honestly, this is one of the best apps in the Lemont area. Perfectly cooked prime roast beef on fresh mini buns is served with Au jus gravy and mild horseradish source. Also included are tasty crisp fries. I'll order this again and again. The Blackened Mahi entree was cooked to perfection and was as fresh anyone could ask for. Ask for light blackening spice if you want to savor the taste of the mahi-mahi. Served with corn, rice, and quinoa it's a great dinner. Value is excellent and service is excellent. Great staff that is welcoming and enthusiastic. Try food from this fine establishment! read more

This turkey burger is raw and there is literally a chunk of raw turkey. Turkey has to be fully cooked. I'm so happy I caught it before I ate it! This is not the first time they have messed up our orders. They always forget something or don't read the notes when you want something substituted or taken off. When the Lemont location first opened, the decor looked great. The food was out of this world. The service was welcoming and punctual. The prices were high, but the food quality made up for it. We frequented this restaurant for its food, ambiance, and wide selection of beers on tap. Suggestions: tilapia tacos, cajun chicken pasta, mac n cheese, burgers, salads, and so much more. Fast forward to today. Everything looks different during the daytime. (Whoa!!) Problem: The walls have white patches in them. Solution: Repaint with a light, fresh, modern color. Problem: The place wreaks like an old, musty bar. Solution: Everything air quality related: Clean the vents, Open the doors, Remove and replace mats to sanitize them and dry before putting back. Problem: The women's bathroom is atrocious. Solution: Hire a cleaning crew to clean nightly. Actually clean the toilets. Wipe the sills/edges. Patch the holes in the walls. Repaint if necessary. Baking soda + water + scrub brush will make the floor tile grout light again. Wipe the counters. Wipe the door handles every few hours. Include a cleaning log for patrons to see. Problem: The door entrance area is filthy. Solution: Wipe the glass doors, sweep, and mop. Problem: The outdoor patio is dirty and unappealing. Twice I turned down eating outside because it looked awful. Plus, no one really likes to smell the gamers' cigarette stench next door. Bleh. Solution: Sweep. Seriously, sweep. Then pressure wash the ground and add umbrellas and flower pots (actually use the ones tossed in the corner.) Part of this was written in humor, but most of this is written to seriously ask the owners to step it up. In the meantime, I am looking for a new place to frequent. read more

I had not been to Tap House in well over 7-8 years. I was STILL impressed with the food and service. Our server was a very nice young lady who made recommendations when asked, was knowledge about the menu and its flavor profiles and a warm friendly girl. We started out with pom ginger limeade and bloody mary. The drinks were fabulous and very flavorful. Our appetizers were pretzels and elote nuggets. The pretzels and cheese were delicious as were the nuggets (although a little spicy for me). We dined on the tipsy stout burger and root beer braised beef and gouda sandwich - which, in our opinion - is a high class French dip on crack! It melted in your mouth. We ended with the donuts that are tossed with cinnamon sugar, drizzled with caramel and served with warm chocolate sauce. The only thing I would change would be to give the customer the option of serving the donuts with hot caramel sauce (or chocolate) - but that is a personal preference. We were unable to finish the donuts so on our way out the door, left the remaining donuts and sauce with a couple of women who were day drinking! As they say, Dessert first!! Just left this place. Sat for 15 minutes, wasn't even offered a glass of water. That's after going back to the door to get our own menu. The server clearly saw us. She delivered food to a table to our right and one directly in front of us. We've been here in the past, service is usually slower. But come on! Prices are up, food is ok, but service is even worse. So we came here by accident- happy accident! The place we were going to go to had a malfunction with their cooler and they had to close early. So here we are. The food was definitely 5-Star. It was really good. There were 4 people in our party and everyone agreed that their food was tasty. The problem was that it didn't seem clean. My menu had pages stuck together. This is a tough review! The food is really good. Great, even? It doesn't look fancy but it really delivers on taste. I'd venture to guess most things are made in house and everything feels a little elevated from standard bar food. We had quesadilla's and I had a pulled pork sandwich... and they were both high quality comfort food! We also got some holiday takeout here and it was really-whiz bang fantastic. Again, not fancy but really delivered on taste. It seems like a lot of time and care is put into the food... so... maybe snazz up the place up a bit? Make sure there's no peeling paint and no cracked seats. It's COVID so maybe I'm being unfair. And honestly... come here with good folk and I guess the ambiance doesn't matter. The real issues though. Sort of. Like. The service was really bad. I understand it's a difficult time to hire staff but it seemed like they had one server working the whole restaurant (outside too!). I've worked in the service industry so I have a lot of sympathy but the server seemed generally harried and was like "Sorry for the wait I'm the only one here." Which. Um. That sort of made me feel bad asking her to do anything? Which is awkward? It's not her fault and we left a good tip but not maybe a great feeling for your guests? If I wanted to feel guilty I'd dine with my immediate family. ALSO. The bar tender and the food runner (I'm guessing?) had a lot of time to chat at the bar and mess around on their phones. I understand politics or tip distribution can prevent folks from helping each other but... it looked bad and just made me feel worse for our waitress who was working super hard. Also. My diet coke tasted like poo. Not generically bad. Like someone took an actual poo in my diet coke. Or what I'd imagine poo would taste like because I have not tasted poo. Anyway. I mentioned it and it she got me a new one (after saying "This is the second time someone said that today"). We're good. At the end of the meal I asked for a glass of water... and it also tasted like poo. So. Something wrong with their line at the bar? Anyway. Which is all to say. It would be great if they paid attention to details the way they pay attention to the food. It's sort of expensive for comfort food. Which I don't mind paying for since it's real great! But. They have different family carry out specials for each day of the week. We ordered the Wednesday burger special There was so much food and it was so yummy! Only problem was it was way too much food for one family! It was such a deal. We split it with our next door neighbors and both families had leftovers! You know? For a bar located in a strip mall, this place was pretty good. The service at the bar on this busy Friday night was spot on. The food was good and once the crowds dissipated, the noise level was bearable. I went with the bartender's recco of a Kobe burger with Tater Tots (LOVE tater tots!) and my friends went with the chicken pot pie (it was a cold night perfect for comfort food) and both came up quickly and were quite good, if our empty plates were any indication. The odd part? There are slot machines in the corner and one guy sat there the entire time I was there trying to win. Felt a little odd to me but who am I to judge? Plenty of free parking (it's the burbs) and large seating areas make this good for your group or equally as good for just the two of you. Lemont Favorite We went there with a group of 8 people and were seated very quickly and our waitress did an excellent job of providing us with a really nice dining experience. They have a really nice selection of cocktails, wines and beers. We shared several appetizers, fried pickles, parmesan fries, fried duck wings and the loaded tater tots. All were very good but I would suggest the loaded tater tots and fried duck wings they were excellent. The kobe beef burgers and crispy chicken sandwiches were a hit as were the ahi Tuna and fish and chips. Portions were large, cooked perfectly and everything taste great. read more

Came here on a Saturday night at 9:45. The bar was seat yourself and we were told to take a seat and menus would be brought to us. We sat ourselves and then proceeded to wait about 15 minutes for someone acknowledge our presence. Then we ordered drinks based on our servers recommendation and they were not that good. She was excellent, and kind but everything else was subpar. The food was good I would suggest ordering a beer and some apps and steer clear of the cocktails. read more

4th visit but first time for dinner and beer. Other visits were at lunch during a work day. Mi really hope this place does well as many restaurants have come and gone in Lemont. Really good selection of 40 beers on tap, including many local brews. We sat in the bar area and were waited on by the personable manager Keith. Even though it was very busy on a Thursday night, service was pretty prompt. We ordered cheese curds to start, and they were very good! I had the crispy shrimp tacos, husband had the burger and daughter had the tilapia jerk sandwich . We enjoyed them all. The best part of the meal, however, was the homemade Kitkat dessert -'chocolate, crispymdeligh. Definitely enough for 3 to enjoy and not to be missed.
