Great place to go for a casual lunch in downtown Lemont. I was actually kind of surprised that on a Sunday late afternoon there weren't more people in the bar area watching the football game. I had a burger and fried pickle chips and the food was made nothing outrageous. I love pickles and unfortunately, the fried pickles were a bit tough. However, the apple cider martini came with a smoked cinnamon stick, which was pretty cool addition to it. When it came out it smelled so good and it was a generous pour which is always great. It's pretty spacious place inside, kind of on the dim side so if you have old eyes, be ready to use your assistive light. Our server was awesome. She was super energetic and friendly, fun to talk to. The outside patio area is large for it being a corner restaurant. It doesn't look at much, just a parking lot, but it's still really nice here. A great vibe all around. read more

Not sure how this restaurant got the incredibly high rating that it has but my experience was a bit different. First, the staff was very friendly, attentive, and professional. The food on the other hand was mediocre. I had their steak chili and it was awful. The so-called steak was filled with fat and gristle, tough to chew. Also, the restaurant was pretty dim and hard to see in midday. I guess it's a good place for a quick bite to eat but I would definitely not have the steak chili. read more

Located downtown lemont hands down by far the best bar food beats my favorite restaurant in Lockport. I won't mention any names. In any case, let me tell you for being a bar. Everything was homemade. I ordered the cream of chicken soup. It was actually one of my favorite cream soups I've ever had. Kind of had Chicken a la king feeling to it... Second, we ordered The impossible Burger... That alone would bring me back. We ordered a side of macaroni and cheese wasn't anything spectacular but children would love it... We had a side of these crispy potatoes that you can get loaded with fresh potatoes. They were delicious by themselves... I saved the bus for last because you wouldn't expect to be getting this item in a bar. We ordered the pot roast. I felt like I made it... And the gravy was Delicious! I wanted to put it on everything. I probably could have used a straw to drink it. That's how good it was... Why am I making a joke about it because a lot of restaurants like to use beef base gravy only . And although it is something that you add, you truly need the juices of the beef . Great place to get together for food and drinks , plenty of parking great customer service a must if you're in Lemont

it's sad to have to put this, but here we go. I'll start by saying our waitress was very attentive and even gave a recommendations and sadly that was part of the issue. we ordered an appetizer that was really delicious and 2 x-mas themed drinks that were highly recommended, but they didn't show the price. the first drink was mine and was nothing special but still able to be finished... the second drink was absolutely disgusting and not even a full sip was taken when the person i was with said she could not stand the taste at all. we were going to get it exchanged but they were trying to charge a second time for a drink that was beyond unacceptable. the manager was incredibly rude and said it doesn't matter if it was recommended or not and even if we didn't taste it we would be charged because they made the drink. I've never been to an establishment were the Manager basically talks down the customer when we didn't enjoy the experience. I would love to recommend the place because the food was really good but the whole experience left an even more sour taste in our mouths than the awful drinks. would highly recommend to take your business elsewhere to be better appreciated. read more

Great experience overall. I ordered a carry out at the bar. I got served pretty quickly and the bartender had my order in within 10 mins of me sitting down. While I waited, I had a lavender limoncello spritz. It was delicious and garnished with fresh lavender which was a nice touch. For dinner, I ordered the fish & chips, Mac and cheese, and mixed veggies as a side. The fish & chips was one of the best I've ever had and the tartar sauce was delightful. Super bright with fresh dill, chopped something (pickles?) and maybe some lemon? It was amazing. The sides were also tasty, though I wish the Mac and cheese was a little creamier. I played in the casino for a little bit while it was cooking and the games were super clean as well as the bathroom. Good music, lighting, overall vibes. 5/5 will definitely be back soon as a new Lemont resident. read more

We had a group of ten last Saturday, February 21st. The restaurant was packed, but, we made a reservation. My husband and I were the first couple there at 6:30 and they sat us immediately. Our table was ready. Our server Flora approached us immediately to get our drink orders and within 5 minutes we had our drinks. WTG service bar. Flora was on top of it for our 2 hour stay. Drinks,food and service were great. The only gripe I have is that the echo in the restaurant makes it very loud and so we had to talk loud to each other. I'm not sure how to fix that. Flora divided our separate checks and also advised us that she placed an automatic gratuity to each of our checks. That's an A+ to me and so we tipped her more on top of that. A lot of servers will not let you know that and some people don't know to look for that. We'll definitely be back. Great atmosphere, service and food! 10/10. Thanks Flora! read more

My friend and I went here and ordered the potato cracklings, avocado toast, and the cauiflower appetizer. Out of all three appetizers, our favorite was the cauliflower. The cauliflower has a nice crispy breading on it and the sauce was sweet. It tasted like orange chicken and was so tasty. The potato cracklings were nice and crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The bacon, chives, cheese and sour cream on top was delicious. The avocado toast was spicy and had a kick to it. I liked the creaminess of the avocado on the fresh multigrain toast. The spicy mayo was the perfect touch. The service was really fast here and there is plenty of seating inside and outside. Went to this cute place for my birthday outing. I wanted to say drink and my friend highly recommended this place. We sat at the bar and had an amazing bar tender who was attentive and very pleasant. He made me my drinks based on my preferences and I loved each one. We also order some chips and salsa and potato skins. Was not a fan of the salsa but the potato skins were amazing!!! (STARTERS and DRINKS ONLY) - I was able to enjoy this low-key establishment featuring American classics. My party of 4 arrived without reservation wanting something smaller before heading out. We decided to only have drinks and appetizers. DRINKS - 3 of us took to the shakes portion of the alcohol side of the menu immediately. The names were enticing capturing our desire for something sweet. I ordered the banana foster which was recommended to us as a underrated option. It was absolutely wonderful, the banana flavor was subtle which is nice given the intensity of the fruit. The caramel and other sweet elements made a surprisingly refreshing experience. The drink wasn't particularly strong in the way of tasting the alcohol itself so I drank it quite quickly. I was able able to taste the chocolate peanut butter and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Both were also good for different reasons. The chocolate peanut butter was nice in that it was an even distribution of both flavors. I personally am not a fan of this combination in any form but I could have finished the shake. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake nailed the flavor of the cereal perfectly. If you like french toast or the cereal this is a good choice. STARTERS - in total we ordered the Caribbean wings, fried cauliflower and "CST great balls of fire" (hush puppies). The wings we elected to get baked instead of fries which unfortunately dulled the flavor lf the seasoning due to what i assume to be the lack of seasoning in the breading. Despite this they were cooked perfectly and salted well so i still really enjoyed them. The fried cauliflower was I think where I found myself the most conflicted and the most impressed. It was seasoned so well and cover with this delicious honey sriracha sauce. I personally found it too sweet and would have preferred more spice and less honey. The texture was a little soggy when we got to the bottom of the tray, but honestly I liked this as a meat substitution. If they were a little less sweet I would have no problem eating this instead of wings or meat in general. Finally we had the great balls of fire which were a few large his puppies and what I think is a spicy aioli. I was a very big fan of these because i love hush puppies. Although there weren't that many they were really large perfectly salted and the aioli made quite a difference. It wasn't very spicy but it added moisture and creaminess to an otherwise dry bite. read more

Went here to celebrate my grandmas birthday and it was a hit! We were excited to try the fried pickles, and they were so hot but very delicious. We were also surprised by how delicious the chips and salsa were. For my meal I got a fried green tomato sandwich, which I had never tried before. I got vegetables as my side. I would have liked to rate the Corner Stone Tavern higher but couldn't because of how loud and noisy inside during my visit. So noisy that it was hard to interact with the staff when being seated, ordering. Etc. The interior has nice decor, a nice blend of the old and modern. The place is not very large but in warmer months outdoor seating is available. There is street parking and public parking in the area withing a short walk. Nice menu, with a nice variety plus plenty of choices of sides. My food order came out of the kitchen quickly and exactly as I ordered. This is a nice place if you don't mind a noisy crowd If you like shouting at the television while watching a game or think your jokes are funnier if you scream the punch line, you will love this place. read more

My partner and I moved to Lemont over the summer and this has been our go to local spot ever since. We have been perhaps a dozen times and have not had a bad experience. We are also very pleased with the friendly and attentive service, and the excellent food. Not to mention the prices are great for the amount of food you get! Our favorite items are the Hot Chicken Sandwich, CST burger, and Chicken Caesar Salad. Oh and don't forget the to die for pretzel sticks and accompanying sauces. Seriously, you can't go wrong here! Let me start with the customer service 5 stars across the board. From the owners, to the servers, the cooks, and the bartenders, everyone here truly cares about their guests. (Actually made to feel like a guest) The interior is very well done, looks warm and inviting. The building itself is historical with alot of character of its own. The bartenders put a lot of care and detail into the cocktails. I had a brandy old fashioned, fantastic. The boozy milkshakes look incredible, just didn't have room left to truly enjoy them. Definitely planning on it for our next visit. As others have mentioned, the fried cauliflower is on point. It warrants a visit to the Cornerstone all on it's own. It is sweet with heat that almost anyone can handle. The CST hot chicken sandwich, crisp, w/ a nice amount of heat. The potato cracklin's are a alternative to your normal fries. The prime burger is cooked to order, served with your standard lettuce tomato and onion. I haven't had the opportunity to check out the brunch menu yet. It is definitely on my my short list... Came here for Xmas get together with friends and I walked in and was warmly greeted by a lady who helped me pick a seat that accommodated my hearing loss. I had the spicy chicken with fries and it was great! Tender and super flavorful. Also had a Moscow mule with blueberries . The mule was well made and the blueberries gave a welcome tartness. The bar tender stopped by to see if I like it. The beer selection was smaller than some places but I was able to find a nice imperial stout to sip. We were there about 4 hours hanging out and I'm sorry to say I didn't notice that they had alcoholic milkshakes..... I need to go back and check this out! read more

I've now tried this place on three separate occasions. The owners are very polite and caring. I love what they did with the place. I get there are growing pains being a new business which I understand. But they need to focus on quality control. That being said here's what we ordered. Not all at the same visit... Fried pickles. They were so salty I couldn't even eat them. Pot roast: again soooo overly salted it couldn't be eaten. Hot chicken: super greasy and only available in breast. ( what! No tenders!?) Mac and cheese: tasted like it was fresh out of the microwave. CST steaks sandwich: egg was over cooked and steak was like they cooked a tire and put it in between two pieces of bread. Pretzel sticks: again they must love that microwave because it definitely tasted like it was cooked that way. CST burger: the meat is low quality and the only cook temp they offer is cooked or raw. The draft beer selection is piss pour. And cocktail selection is definitely lacking. There's a simple solution is quality control. TASTE YOUR FOOD BEFORE IT HITS THE TABLE. It's so simple but so overlooked. You don't need both owners in the dining area one can focus on the back of house and one can focus on front. Also have your "head chef" walk around the dining room and actually meet the people eating your food. Invite them back a second time, recommend a dish, and be personal. Wow! What a great surprise at the quality of the food here. I stopped in for dinner and was very happy with the extensive beer list. I ordered the chicken fingers... sure chicken fingers are nothing much to get excited about but OMG. They were the best chicken fingers I have ever had. Fresh, juicy, and the breading was top notch.
