While the website does outline the parking situation, it still proved to be a real inconvenience on the day of the event. However, the bigger issues were with the management and cleanliness. The owner kept my $250 non-refundable deposit for some spots on the floor, which I had pointed out to him upon my arrival. It was clear the venue hadn't been properly cleaned before our event--I found utensils, bread, and hair from a previous event. I cleaned the kitchen sink because there was dirt in it, even though we really didn't use that area. But just to point out the venue was not as clean as the owner was trying to make it seem, it was. When I brought up these concerns, the owner tried to justify his actions by invoking his status as a Black-owned small business, even though he was charging a Black family an excessive amount for cleaning that wasn't our responsibility. Additionally, there were no trash cans, which was a huge inconvenience. I strongly advise anyone considering this venue to conduct a very thorough walkthrough and document everything with your own photos. It's a shame that a decent venue is managed with such a lack of professionalism and care.

Our guest had issues with parking but outside of that…read moreit was a great place for the price....BUT....the day before our rental we reviewed a "legal pad" of how the place should be left after we exited....take out "All" the garbage and place in dumpster behind the building, sweep, cut off a/c, sound system etc....then they wanted us to make sure to cut off every light BUT to cut on "three" specific lights...okay will do...So why the one you ask?....I received the attached email with a video showing "3" lights were left on "OVER Night" and $150 will be deducted from our deposit...I called David and he told me that they felt it was "fair" because of the discounts they gave for us to rent the space.....So three lights (over night) cost our nonprofit $150... *Buyer Beware* and remember to cut those lights off

Luckily we found parking at the venue. They have a couple of bar set ups. It's easily accessible off south blvd. No food but plenty of places around the venue. I would come back here anytime for an outdoor concert as it's low key and small enough where you feel part of the concert from anywhere.

HUGE thank you to Legion…read more Our company, Opkalla, held its big team Midyear dinner at Legion last night (which I'm responsible for planning), and I was absolutely blown away by the entire experience planning with Gabby, through the event itself for about 50 people. Before I even get into the event itself though, none of it would've been possible without Gabby being such an absolute joy to work with throughout all of the planning leading up to it. During the planning phase she made my life about 100 times easier instead of harder, which is saying something because that's definitely not always the case with venues and I've experienced the other side of that coin elsewhere! From the second we arrived, we were treated with genuine attention and enthusiasm (not to mention, HUSTLE!) I was running around so much all day that I can't believe I'm blanking on a couple of the girls' names now...I remember Kayla's name specifically for some reason...but EVERY single server, bartender, etc working our event was absolutely AMAZING. (As an aside, I worked in hospitality for years, so I know firsthand how much goes into pulling off a private event like ours. Legion's team last night made the entire evening seem effortless.) Drinks were flowing and refilled so quickly, everyone was constantly checking in with me to see if we needed anything, the food was fantastic, and while I didn't catch his name in the middle of all the celebrating, the steak carver you assigned to our event was such a great guy too and SO wonderful with our team. I genuinely can't find the right -- or enough -- words to explain how impressed I was with the entire experience, from the planning process all the way through the end of the night. This was probably the first large team event I've been responsible for, whether at Opkalla or any previous company, where I actually got to relax at times during the event and almost felt like a guest instead of just the planner!! You have no idea how refreshing that was. (Not that I would've minded running around putting out fires if I had to; that occasionally just comes with the territory and was definitely the case earlier that day prior to Legion!) Legion handled everything so seamlessly that I barely had to do any "work" during the event beyond enjoying the evening and checking in with our team. It was obvious everyone had everything they needed, and even more obvious that everyone was having an absolute blast. Thank you again for making this such an incredible experience. It was truly one of the smoothest, most enjoyable events I've ever been a part of, and that's a huge credit to Legion's events team and serving/bartending staff. There was not food, but they allowed food to be brought in from the outside, and they're near a restaurant. Overall, it was a neat experience. Bathrooms were located in the back, but unfortunately there were only 2 stalls in the ladies restroom and for an event and amount of people that were there, it was not enough to have the line flow smoothly. Parking can be a bit tight out front, but there's usually a fair amount of room near the back. If you're looking for a cool event or reception space, The Palmer Building should be on your short list!

She is a god send, not only does she make sure we and our guests are taken care of, but she apparently keeps her people happy as well. It's never easy advocating for your bosses and your customers at the same time, but Michelle does it in style. The only negative I would say is during the luncheons you can hear people walking upstairs. Parking options include a paved lot and parking deck nearby that you typically have to pay for, but they do offer free parking for the luncheons I attend.
