Last I came to this place, we were seated next to the entrance. It did give me Barcelona vibes as the table was so small lol. Of all the dishes we ordered, there was oke that I hated with a passion haha. The aguacate con cangrejo that's supposed to have crab but I not find crab or tasted anything that like crab, whatever white lump I ate was tasteless. Was a far cry from the other stupendous dishes.

I remember dining here years ago, and if you fancy a colorful and lively atmosphere with Spanish plates for sharing, you'll get an authentic taste of Barcelona at Tapas Barcelona. We returned again recently and met up with friends, for a convivial evening of sangria and small plates. Of course we ordered Paella Valenciana, and also, well, what didn't we order? We enjoyed: Alcachofas a la Vinagreta, Aceitunas Alinadas, Datilles a la Sevillana, Queso de Cabra con Tomate and Patatas Bravas and many others. Followed up by Bizcocho Borracho. Fun to share, lively and fun, veg plates available, parking challenging, a nice place for friends.

This tapas restaurant in Evanston is great! They have a variety of cold and hot dishes, all with good prices. For a party of 4 we shared 6 or 7 dishes as well as a pitcher of white sangria. The food came out really quickly and was brought out as it was ready. Each dish that we ordered was good but I think my personal favorites were the octopus and the grilled squid! The texture and flavoring of the octopus was so good and the sauce with the squid was delicious. I can't wait to come back and try some more dishes.

This is a very cute place to have lunch. Nice sit down tables enough room for a good conversation with a little bit of privacy. The entrees were good, thoughtfully done portions were not gigantic but they were enough. Service was attentive without being overwhelming. It was overall a very good experience and a place that we would like to visit again.

Paella Valenciana

Yummy food and great service. We will surely come back if in Evanston. We ordered Paella Valenciana as well as the seafood only paella, Bacon Wrapped dates, Gambas, Octopus Plancha, Calamari, Patatas Bravas, Rigatoni Pasta for the younger ones, the Feta cheese dip and pitchers of Sangria, and several desserts. Ice cream, Banana, Tiramisu. Everything was yummy, orders arrived at a reasonable time.

Came here for an impromptu date night with my husband. I've been here many times over the years. I'll be honest that it's decent tapas but it's not the best tapas. They have the advantage that they are the only tapas restaurant in the area so when in the mood and we don't want to go downtown, we come here! The complimentary bread is very tasty and I ate it with the queso de cabra because the dish only came with 4 skinny pieces of bread! The datiles are delicious and definitely worth a try. The bravas aren't spicy, nor are the potatoes crispy which is typical for other tapas restaurants, but good flavor nonetheless.

Food was delicious! Valencia paella was outstanding. Crab, avocado, cucumber cold plate was delightfully refreshing. Chicken Empanada, steak skewers, snails, pizza, roasted seasoned potatoes, were all wonderful! Creme brulee for dessert - yum! Red sangria and chardonnay for beverages. We had an amazing late lunch, highly recommend. Or server was informative, excellent service! We ate outside, delightful breeze.

I don't give a lot of 5 stars, but this place deserves it. We dropped in around 6:30 and luckily they found a table for three of us. We had the pitcher of sangria, which they did right. No ice in the pitcher just in the glasses. pieces of apple, citrus in the glasses. We ordered an emapanadilla. A large empanada filled with lamb and chorizo. comes with spinach leaves and tomato. Wow a great decision on our part. Really good with a honey mustard mayo. We had the Valencia paella. It was perfect for the three of us. We had a small amount of leftover. Fresh mussels chicken chorizo and chewy rice. So yummy. There's so many dishes to choose from. We'll be back often.

My darling daughter and I came for dinner ! We had been wanting to come here for a few weeks already . Guess what ? Best decision ever! The food was so delicious and uniquely spiced. Every dish and something special to it . We ordered the Patatas Bravas, Fettuccine, Scalloped Pork and Eggplant with goat cheese!! Wow wow wow! Highly recommend and service was great ! Make sure you reserve your table in advance because they get really full. Great customer service and quality!

Came here for a family dinner. Its one of the few places that can accommodate a big group. I was actually so surprises that not more restaurants could do this. Anyway, the food was really good. Their Paella was very tasty, seafood is really fresh. I dis like my Ceviche but it wasnt what i expected. I thought it would always come with chips to dip it in but its a very dofferent kind of ceviche, nevertheless i did like it! We alao had their Ribeye. The portion is a bit smaller than what you expect a ribeye would be but taste wise it was delicious. Its served on top of potatos with some ribeye sauce. The grilled octopus was my favorite. Must order! These are small portions, i guess its what Tapas are. Small appertizer options. But still worth a try. Happy Eating!

I've always loved the food here but I met my parents from out of town last night and all three of us got violent food poisoning. It was the only thing we ate together so I know it was from here. Very disappointed, but at least it tasted good.

Not a bad place, but most definitely not the place for paella. This was more of a 'arroz a la.marinera' then anything.

The server went through the menu with GREAT enthusiasm and detail. I settled on the paella which was good. Definitely frozen seafood, but that's probably best in Indiana. The rice was perfectly spiced and I don't get the chance to eat much paella and this far better than anything I could make. I opted for a dessert, a homemade dish that was a cross between a flan and a merringue, delicious and paired great with their house port. Honestly, one of my favorite dining experiences of the year! Felt like I visited my grandparents the way the owners and staff took care of me.

We sat out on their covered patio area which super cute and ordered a sangria pitcher to share. Great sangria! We got a bunch to share of course but the first thing was the olives (YUM) and the brussel sprout salad which was surprisingly so yummy! We also tried croquetas which were great, the chicken and chorizo skewers, patatas bravas, the tortilla (which I have had authentic one and this one is great) and same goes for the pulpo which was so good. I really don't think we went wrong with anything we ordered even the chickpea stew was great. My take on the paella is get the seafood one if you can. I didn't tried but we had to get the chicken one because a lot of our table doesn't eat seafood and it was okay to me! Huge serving though so save room post the tapas! And of course we have to get the dessert so we had the cheesecake the chocolate cake and both were fab. Such a cutie place and I will be thinking about these tapas for a while!

It's a beautifully converted old mansion with manicured outdoor spaces and an elegant interior. The white tablecloth atmosphere delivers on the promise of a special night out. That said, if you're coming expecting a transportive Spanish dining experience, temper those expectations. A few decorative plates on the walls aside, the space reads more traditional Southern manor than Iberian escape. Charming, yes. Spanish, not really. Now the food, because that's where things get interesting. The cream of rice soup was a genuine highlight. Buttery, brothy, deeply comforting. The kind of dish that makes you lean in after the first spoonful. The baguette served alongside it though? Stale. Sliced too far in advance and the butter arrived ice cold, straight from the fridge. At $100 plus per person, that is a detail that matters. The Queso con Pacanas had beautiful individual components but suffered from what became a recurring theme of the night: strong flavors competing rather than collaborating. The pungent cheese steamrolled everything else on the plate. The wine soaked pears showed up again later on the Chuleta de Cerdo, and while the idea is lovely, serving a pear half unsliced in a fine dining context means you're asking the guest to do compositional work that the kitchen should have already done. The Jamón Iberico is the most expensive item on the menu and the meat itself is worth every penny. Nutty, buttery, exceptional on its own. But the parmesan blanketing the flatbread crisps overpowered it completely, and a lone raw garlic clove sitting on the plate with no instruction is not fine dining. Our server was sweet enough to explain you're meant to rub it on the cracker yourself, and she handled it with grace, but that explanation should not have been necessary. The Patatas Bravas were well seasoned with a solid aioli but landed mushy rather than crispy. A miss. The Gambas a la Plancha was the clearest win of the evening and not by coincidence. It was the simplest dish. Well seasoned shrimp, bright lemon butter, nothing fighting for attention. Sometimes restraint is the whole answer. The Chuleta de Cerdo had a beautifully cooked, smoky and peppery pork chop and a mushroom sauce that genuinely complemented it. But then the cinnamon heavy root vegetable puree pulled the whole plate in a completely different direction. Our server was genuinely wonderful, funny and warm and attentive even while training a new hire. She was the clearest bright spot of the service experience and the one thing we left talking about fondly. We left the rest of the meal a little baffled. The head chef hails from Valencia, and we were told that influence shows in the food. Maybe it does and our palates just weren't reading it. But between the confused flavor profiles, the inconsistent execution, and a cuisine identity that felt more scattered than intentional, we walked out laughing and scratching our heads more than satisfied. Beautiful place. Lovely server. The food just never quite found itself.

The fry oil NEEDED to be changed the day we were there. All the potatoes tasted off and were cut so small it was awkward to eat with a fork. It was like they were the frozen diced potatoes that would typically be used for hashbrowns. Pan con tomate was straight up bad. Bacon goat cheese dates were great, I'll give credit there.
