Short Rib Paella
Sarah L.

Really nice ambiance, but it does get a bit loud during dinner service. It was hard to hear my friend sitting directly across from me. As for food, the short rib paella was the star of the show. When I think of paellas I usually think seafood but this variation was so unexpectedly good. The short rib was served bone-marrow style and made for a perfectly balanced dish to share. Note that the paellas take about 45 minutes to cook, so it's a good idea to order early. Service was friendly, though it took a while for someone to come to our table after we were initially seated.

I haven't tried a tapa joint for a while. Thanks for being the reminder Boqueria! Tapa excellence. Definitely get the octopus! Thanks to the bartender creating me some custom request cocktails. It's Easter Sunday, wasn't' too crowded. It's a plausibly comfortable yet upbeat ambience here.

The red sangria is SO good, and our server Gabi totally made the experience. Can't wait to go back!

Wine .. happy hour carafes White, red, and a rose sangria.

Fernando was an excellent server... Very attentive, quick, and accurate. He even helped supply a garbage bag for a baby in a stroller who didn't want to be soaked from the rain. We celebrated a coworker birthday and had a great time. Street metered parking me We ordered everything tapas from hamburgers, sirloin steaks, lamb skewers, shrimp scampi like dish, grilled octopus, jamon sandwiches, mushroom croquetes, rose sangria, white sangria, espresso martini, spf zero, temptanillo red wine, white wine, and shots of tequila. The ambiance was inviting and very cute inside. Roomy and great bar and space area. The tapas were tasty some a bit more pricey than needed but still tasty. Forget to get pictures of the food. Reasonably priced for a party of 8.

100% recommend the Chicago Restaurant Week menu here at Boqueria! Love the intimate ambiance. It's a tapas style menu broken into 3 courses. Don't let portions fool you because you will be left stuffed yet wanting more. They have a great balance for vegetarians also. I personally loved their veggie preparations more than the meat. Do not skip dessert! The orange olive oil cake is dense and delicious.

decided to go for a restaurant week and I really enjoyed the menu. The service was so amazing and I definitely felt like you got banged for your buck for 60 bucks. I've been to their restaurant a few times but never at night so I really enjoyed the music and the energy.

Cute place for happy hour! We stopped by for some drinks and a few quick bites. The rose sangria was perfect, not too overpowering and had a nice balance between the rose and tequila. Highly recommend the truffle mushroom croquettes!! My favorite of the two, but the ham version was good too. Wasn't busy during happy hour either and we got seated at the bar right away.

Food is very solid. This location is much better than the Nashville location where was previously lived.

food: got the boqueria experience and pitcher of sangria, I enjoyed every dish that got included in our experience (the steak was a bit tough), the experience is great though and you get 6ish tapas which is a lot of food + a small paella and churros for dessert. Standouts for me are the Iberico Ham and patatas. Definitely worth coming back and trying some other tapas service: server was very friendly and helpful, and made sure to check on dietary restrictions ambiance: great vibe, gets loud when it's busy but honestly quieted down a lot as the night went on and people left from happy hours

Easy to make reservations. Food and drinks were good. Good experience with the staff. Was able to watch the Spain game while there.

I wanted nothing more than to ring in year 45 with a great glass of natural wine... and I walked out having had a 7-glass flight and one of the most memorable evenings of the trip. The bartenders deserve their own star. They weren't just knowledgeable--they were genuinely fun to talk to, the kind of people who make you feel like you've been coming there for years. We went from discussing funky wine profiles to diving deep into '80s horror films, which is absolutely my idea of a perfect tangent. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made the whole experience feel personal and spontaneous. As for the wine: unique, surprising, and delicious, even the pours I didn't expect to enjoy. Good Funk leans into exploration in the best way--nothing feels generic or predictable. Every glass had its own personality, and the flight felt like a curated adventure rather than a lineup. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, stylish without being pretentious, and perfect for either a solo wind-down or a lively night out. It's the kind of place that encourages you to linger, taste one more thing, have one more conversation. Good Funk turned what could've been a quiet, forgettable evening into an unforgettable birthday-eve celebration. If you're in Chicago and love natural wine--or just love a spot with genuine heart--don't miss this place.

(Kari's Rating 8.75/10)…read more Came with a friend late on a Friday night after dinner time We were able to be seated almost immediately at a nice little private Cove table. We ordered a flight of whiskey sours, which contained whiskeys from Japan, Vietnam, and Wisconsin. I also was able to order an amaretto sour, which they made with freshly hand beaten egg whites, which was a nice cherry on the top. As far as the whiskey flights go, I think the best one was the Vietnam flight because it had a slightly lemongrass twang and was a little bit lighter than the other two. The heaviest one was the Wisconsin which came with a little bit of a bite at the end, but it still wasn't bad if you're trying to blackout on a $15 budget. I would definitely come back with a larger group this seems like a great place, but is a little bit loud- so if you be prepared to yell or wear earplugs. The bathroom took my a second to find, which should have been intuitive considering it was on the opposite end of where you come in. I blame the lighting as things are already pretty hard to find in the dark, but eventually I made it there-Pat myself on the back.

Chicago Winery prioritizes upscale and intimacy but their service is personable and friendly allowing you to feel right at home. On Wednesday they offer a Happy Hour special, $5 off a tasting and $10 wine by the glass. The server as extremely kind, and was able to offer me some suggestions based on my personal palate and wine interests. I landed on the Winemaker's Tasting, which included 4, one ounce pours, including Blancs de Blancs, Albarino, Barbera and Merlot. I paired the tasting with the a BYOB board. From their menu I picked the olives, Afterglow, and the Tempesta Guanciale. The server was educated on the wines was able to walk me through the tasting and pairings but gave me independence and autonomy to enjoy at my own leisure and pace. I highly enjoyed my visit and absolutely will be returning to dine in, as well as to get a winery tour!

The ambiance is nice with the restaurant not too dark but still has moody lighting. The entire time we sat down there was a huge group of people waiting for a table, so definitely make a reservation! Caesar salad was interesting, it has chopped celery inside which I didn't realize until I started eating. I don't like celery but my sis does and she liked it in the salad. Pappardelle alla porcellino and chicken vesuvio were AMAZING. Pasta was fresh and the chicken was so decadent. Both mocktails I were delish. The tiramisu was SO GOOD. Wow. My go to for Italian in Chicago has been volare everytime I visit but I'm going to need to…read morestart working in il porcellino to my lineup. I came here for a business dinner with about 6 others. The only frustrating part of our experience was we made a reservation online weeks in advance and when we arrived we were told that they basically overbooked every night and when you reserve a seat you're just saying you're coming. So we showed up and were told we were going to wait an hour. It sounds like they are super busy, but there are better ways to ensure the restaurant is selling every available seat rather than offering basically fake reservations that don't mean anything when you get there. Someone in our group complained enough about it that they sat us and did honor the reservation which we appreciated - given that it was a business dinner though, I think it was awkward we had to do that. It just was a LOT of work to organize multiple out of towners getting together and to show up and potentially wait an hour would have been so inconvenient. They really should fix this problem. The reservation issue aside the experience was great. The service is just sort of meh I didn't feel like they were above or beyond and didn't note anything exceptional there. But the food..... the food is the main event for sure. Everything I tried I loved. I had just had Italian the day before so I didn't want anything that felt "too Italian" (lasagna, pasta, pizza, etc) so I got the braised short rib over polenta which was a nice change of pace. It was amazing. Some of the best polenta I've ever had. I am already looking forward to the next time I can go back! The food here is outstanding. If you are able to go, I would highly recommend it.
