If I could a) live at and b) spend all my money at Jeffre Scot Apothecary, I think I could die a happy and beautifully made up woman. Walking into this stunning little apothecary is like walking into my personal heaven. My eyes grow wide as I observe the luxurious skin care products, stunning make up brands that I've only seen in magazines (smaller brands that you *cannot* find anywhere else in Charlotte - like Becca, Wallet, Eve Lom, Phillip B, etc.), incredibly kind staff, makeup artists and of course, Jeffre himself. While I haven't had a facial here or yet had my brows done, I plan on it. This place is oh so special and, frankly, I don't mind shelling out a little extra coin for great product and fantastic service in a local space. I had my first experience here today and loved it - very classy place with great products. Although not a very large location, what they do have is VERY good and you will receive lots of attention with determining what works best for you, and what you like. I loved this approach; I'm definitely more about quality over quantity so this worked for me. I worked with Kim, who spent a lot of time and was very patient with me (I am makeup-ly challenged). We spent about fifteen minutes choosing a lip gloss, and she directed me toward the plumpers which I like. She also spent about a half hour going over moisturizers, which again I am clueless with. After going through several of them and me still being unsure I said I'd like to wait on purchasing a moisturizer. Instead of giving me the roll of the eyes and attitude that some sales people give when you decline to purchase, she happily filled my bag with samples so I could try them out for a few days before deciding. Very nice! They offer several facials, ranging from $40-$60, and also facial enhancements, such as lip and eye treatments, makeup application for $35 for a night out, and brow shaping for $15. I've had a problem with rosacea for a while and my partner head Jeffre on the Cooper-Lawrence show. He recommended a cleanser and control cream. He showed me how to put it on and told me to do this twice a day. In less than a week my face is almost completely healed. He also gave me a samples to try. So far I'm going back to buy a Calma mask that I used yesterday. It made my skin glow, and look & feel rejuvenated. I paid $40.00 bucks for two items and it appears that it's the best investment. I came in for my brows and Jeffre took his time and worked perfection! To the point where I haven't even been in for months and I don't feel like a furry gremlin! The cosmetics are all very high quality. I tried the double creamy lip pensil to start (we all know they dry your lips out) this one does not. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I schedule hair cut and hair treatment. I didn't plan to do hair treatment but he said that I really need it. Ok, no problem. $85 per hair cut and $75 per treatment. When I came to my appointment he started my hair treatment and said that he hasn't time to finish my hair and I have 2 options- go home with wet hair or I need to come next time for hair cut. Ok, no problem. I chose to cut my hair next time. And I paid $165+ tips I sought that I paid for the hair cut too like he said before. Couple days before my hair cut appointment I called to the salon and double check that I already paid for my hair cut. Today when I come to my hair cut appointment I ask Charlton Alicea will I need to pay for my hair cut again. He said yes, last time you pay just for hair treatment. I tried to receive explanation about pricing, but he starts yelling at me and use rude expressions like "your fucked hair" and "this is my fucking salon". Can you believe?!!! He makes me cry. I'm shocked. He returned me my money which I paid for haircut $100 but it's not enough for my moral compensation. I feel that he hates me because of my accent. read more

Caci Thompson is an eyebrow GODDESS! I followed her from her previous location to Jeffre Scott. The shop is like a gorgeous little jewel box, and everyone there is very friendly. I've had my brows waxed for years, and always found it somewhat of an unpleasant, yet necessary chore. Plus, I have sensitive skin that normally stays red and blotchy hours afterward. However, now I almost look forward to getting my eyebrows done! Caci has a magic touch, and such a calm manner. She knows how I like my brows shaped, and is positively meticulous about every last stray hair. She uses some kind of soothing potion afterwards that helps keep the redness down, and I swear, I can go longer between appointments with her than anyone else I've ever seen. Her space is kind of small, but very comfy. It's located right off the main room, and you can clearly hear anyone out there and vice versa. It's not an issue for me, but I want to make other Yelpers aware, in case it would make a difference to them. After one appointment during which I bitched about skin problems, she came out into the shop and gave me several samples of Mario Badescu products that were amazing. The folks at Jeffre Scott are absolute geniuses! I just moved to Charlotte from NY, and I stumbled across the JS, back in December. I have been to JS about 3 times, and I really feel like everyone goes above and beyond to make every customer that walks in feel like they are getting personalized services. I had debated getting my hair cut to a LOB for over a year, but was advised against it by at least 3 hair stylists at other salons. My hair is thick, coarse and wavy, so they felt a LOB would be hard to maintain for my hair texture. Well, I am soooo glad I came across Travis! He really does know his stuff! I got a LOB cut and bayalage, and have not regretted it at all! My hair has been so easy to manage and style! I don't know how he did it, but whatever he did, worked wonders! Have dreamed of a beautiful arched eyebrow for years & tried waxing, plucking and threading but none gave me the look I wanted. After reading Yelp reviews, called Jeffre Scott and made an appointment. Mary did my brow shaping - all by hand, no threading or waxing and gave me the glamorous arched brows I had hoped for and taught me how to pencil in where they are a bit thin. The big plus there was no redness or puffiness! In addition, everyone at JS was friendly and the environment was relaxing. I give this place five stars because Jeffre shapes my eye brows better than any other place in town. He doesn't wax, he plucks which can be a little uncomfortable at first but you get used to it. Besides, the shaping lasts a lot longer than a regular wax which makes up for the steeper price. Make sure you call and make a reservation because he only takes walk-ins on certain days. While you're there, take some time to check out the different lines of make up and skin care that he sells. A lot of them are natural and don't contain parabens -- which I'm a fan of. I bought a truly luscious lip gloss which makes my lips look so sexy I can't stop looking at them in the mirror. Jeffre will also help pick out the right colors for you and I think he's got a real gift at it. I'm looking forward to having my first facial there! read more

My daughter, daughter in law, and I came to Jeffre Scott by way of reading reviews for getting makeup done on Yelp. We were having a family portrait taken and wanted to be sure we'd be happy with the outcome. Did we ever make the right call! Charlton, Travis, and Joanna welcomed us and made us feel so special. The makeup was fantastic. They were teaching us as they applied the products.They have really nice lines, ie. Kevin Aucoin, and exclusively carry a line out of Amsterdam that is great. It can be a little pricey, but so are the lines at the department stores, without the personal, more private attention. It's well worth it, and I never felt pressured to buy. I "found my beauty people" at Jeffre Scott. I came in for three Jouer lip glosses, have been following JS on Instagram, and noticed that they clearly have a refined buying program. This store is no joke in terms of quality and relationship to a brand - only the best find a place at Jeffre Scott. I was a little worried. This is in the most upscale area of Charlotte, and the client base has access to the best. Typically, that would mean that I would encounter attitude. Not here. ZERO attitude. Absolutely genuine and lovely people, who know their stuff! I came in for lipglosses, and Mary (absolutely a doll - totally genuine) and Charlton were waiting to greet me. In a way that was both endearing and lacked any pressure, we got to know each other and I ended up booking a blowout, a facial at their upcoming Mario Badescu event, and I walked out of there with lots of great products, all of which are "pull daily" items now for me. I evaluate any retail experience with a focus on if I walk out of there feeling like I made purchases based on what I want, and what is best for me (and my wallet), and not on any social pressure. For a high-end/niche boutique, they somehow educate you without "selling you." When I came in for my blowout, I loved the intimate salon chair (only one, which makes you feel like Beyonce, basically) in the back. Charlton is both fun and focused, and when I came BACK for my facial he asked me how my blow-out had held up. (It still looked darling.) Then I came back for the facial event, had an OUTSTANDING facial from Charlton, again in the space where they do cuts and color, but it was transformed into a treatment room. Charlton could have sold me on hundreds of dollars worth of high end product. He also COULD have given me a subpar facial (it was free, with the expectation that I would purchase $50 in Badescu product), but he was phenomenal. It was relaxing and effective, I walked out of there moisturized, relaxed and glowing. I did purchase Badescu products, which are SO REASONABLE (my most expensive serum was $48), and Charlton took a lot of time to listen to my questions, discuss foundation, concealer, application, etc. He gave me so many samples I left prepared for an upcoming trip, and the products were beautifully wrapped and presented to me with little upsell. You can tell that everyone at Jeffre Scott genuinely enjoy their work, believe in what they sell, and are focused on our satisfaction. I've been to large market stores, big box retailers, small niche boutiques, and I'm obsessed with quality. But I want to buy from nice people. This team is kind AND knowledgeable. Jeffre is a master at brow shaping with tweezers -- a method that, in my opinion, gives the artist more control for a personalized, precise line. The guys here could not be nicer, nor more informed about the products they carry. I visited Jeffre Scott this past Saturday and had a wonderful experience! I was tagging along with my friend who had a gift certificate to spend and wasn't even looking for anything. We were greeted warmly by the staff and encouraged to look around. They were all very helpful and let us try out as many products as we wanted, as well as answer any question we had!
