We went here for a quick stop before a show at the moody and sat at the bar. The waiter / bartender took orders then immediately forgot what they were and had to reconfirm them. Wine ran out mid pour (chose a large and it stopped about halfway spitting out air) for 2 different wines. The bartender offered to top them off, but then proceeded to do other things while we sat there waiting for nearly 10 minutes. They did offer a free glass for the wait and for not having another bottle of the one that ran out so that was good, but picking up plates and glasses should be a lower priority over a waiting customer. The couple next to us who sat down after us got their food first. Ours came out about 5 minutes later and it wasn't the right item (we think they delivered ours to them and they didn't notice it was the wrong burger) so they had to remake it. We waited nearly 20 minutes for the remake and after asking to have someone check on it, it showed up overcooked, dry and barely warm. If we weren't starving with no option to eat before the show, we likely would have left without eating. Not super important but also something to note, the TV's all popped up with the "are you still watching" notice, it was ignored long enough for the Roku screensaver to kick in which we enjoyed watching on loop the entire time we were there. It was passed by dozens of times by several wait staff and no-one addressed it. All told we were there for an hour and 20 minutes to get a burger and a glass of wine and we almost didn't make it to the show on time. NOTE: I did hear them say several times they were shorthanded, which is somewhat understandable, but there was more to it than just being busy hence the review. read more

Update: After posting this review, the manager reached out and apologized. He initially offered a $60 gift card for my friends and I experience and then increased it to $70, which I thought was a very nice gesture and I very much appreciated the effort to make things right. When I arrived to pick it up I was told the amount had been reduced to $50 and when I brought up that he had originally told me $70 I was told it had to be reduced to $50 because the owner felt "$70 was too steep for a Taco Tuesday issue." That was disappointing because $70 had already been offered and agreed to a week prior. If $70 wasn't approved, it shouldn't have been offered in the first place. What bothered me the most wasn't the $20 difference. It was making the trip to pick up the gift card expecting the amount that had been offered, only to find out once I arrived that it had been changed. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, the resolution process ended up feeling a lot like the original experience: what Tapville offered set certain expectations only for them change. read more

This place is great for large parties. I went with friends and we were around 12 people and it worked perfectly for an after work drink. The food was decent, and the tacos were good. I ordered a zero proof cocktail flight but honestly it wasn't my favorite. My friends had beers and said they were good. The vibe is nice and the service was very good. They give you a token to track what you order and you just pay everything at the end, which makes it easy for groups. Also, there's plenty of parking around. Overall, a good spot to hang out with friends, especially if you're going with a big group. read more

I was very happy to see that a new restaurant had popped up near the University of Texas campus because dining and drinking options are virtually nonexistent near Moody Center. I stopped by just before a scheduled concert and discovered that they opt for a limited menu when anticipating a surge of concert goers. The limited menu didn't seem as appealing as their full menu, but I understand their reasoning for it. I like the concept of pouring your own beers (similar to the Wanderlust wine spot), but the beer pricing is more expensive than basically anywhere else in town. An approx 16oz pour of Hi Sign Violet ran me about $12, so this is def not the place to sit, camp for a while and drink. As stated earlier, the regular food menu seemed great, so I'll likely return to check it out. read more

A friend and I went the week of their grand opening before a concert at the Moody Center. When we checked in, we were asked to put down a card and were given a card for their "on tap" options. Our server was great - accommodating our food preferences/requests and checking in as needed without being pushy or avoidant. The sliders were delicious & the fries were nice and crispy. I have mixed feelings about this spot. For starters, I think it is a great location for UT Students or those in the area for a concert or event however, parking and traffic are insane during the evening. The website states they validate parking but there isn't any signage letting customers know which garage is correct. The designated garage has two entrances, one for Retail Only of which access was denied and another with signs for ERS. A law abiding citizen would enter the Retail Only side but as stated above, access was denied. Only after calling was I notified to enter on the ERS side. After finally finding parking, we were seated promptly. They weren't that busy for a Taco Tuesday. I ordered the Magarita Flight and the Taco Flight. The margaritas are much smaller than they appear online. However, they were good. Also, for the taco flight, they ran out of corn for the elote taco so it was replaced with fried cauliflower. The flight consisted of fried cauliflower, chicken, steak, and fried avocado. While I can complain about not being able to try the elote taco, the fried cauliflower taco was a great choice as a replacement. In fact, it was the best taco on the flight to me! My visit wasn't horrible and now that I slightly know the ins and outs, I would like to try them again. Especially for their brunch and drinks on tap. read more

Tapville This is the soft opening, so I'm excited to see how it improves over time. On Wednesday, they have half the taps, which is a huge plus! It's going to be a great spot to unwind after work. Taco Tuesdayyyyyy I decided to try out Tapville on Taco Tuesday. When I walked in a was greeted with a warm welcome . I got the taco flight and the zero proof flight. Unfortunately, main zero proof base that is typically used was unavailable. I talked to the bartender about tweaking them and using what was available. He used a spiced rum base and it was good in all of my drinks. I would suggest having Ritual Zero Proof on hand to avoid not being able to do certain drinks for the zero proof drinks. My server was amazing and I enjoyed my experience with the service. The ambiance was clean and calm! Taco flight: Avocado taco- Nothing special, it was just a fried avocado. The flavor wasn't special. Steak/beef- It was flavorful, but had a unique flavor that I couldn't quite explain Chicken- The chicken taco was dry, the flavor wasn't bad though Fried mushroom - This was available because the elote taco wasn't. This taco was the star of the show. This needs to be on the menu! This spot is brand new--just opened a few days ago--and already feels like it's on its way to becoming a popular hangout. The location is excellent, especially for anyone coming from the UT Swim Center, the football stadium, or nearby State offices looking to unwind after work. The vibe is trendy yet welcoming, with a good mix of food options, plenty of beer taps, and creative cocktails. For a place that's only been open three days, they're off to a solid start. As with any new establishment, there are a few kinks still being worked out, but nothing that overshadows the overall experience. Stopped in for lunch and it was both convenient and enjoyable--I can see this becoming a regular go-to spot once they settle into their rhythm. Service was top notch as well. Two items on order were incorrect and they provided a complimentary cheesecake to compensate. Nice location with indoor and outdoor seating, some of it close to the bar and some of it farther away. We were just walking by and ducked in for a quick bite after the museum. Staff were friendly. Even though the place was pretty dead (early afternoon on a Sunday), the food still took a little longer than it should have. The coffee was pretty horrible, but the rest of the food was good, but portions were very trim. I had about 3-4 ounces of cod beneath the batter for a fish and chips entree. The cole slaw, which was described as part of the entree amounted to two tablespoons, less food than the serving of ketchup, which was not a featured description. The slaw was actually yummy, and they can afford to offer a little more. See if you can spot it in my picture. With two entrees and tip we were able to get lunch for just under $60. read more

Happy hour is only for food which i wouldve loved to know beforehand, there's no information on it on their website, which is full of AI photos of their drinks, food, and restaurant. The overall vibe kf the building was cold and industrial, which i didnt get from their pictures on their instagram and website. The food was decent and worth the happy hour price, probably note any more than that, drinks also just fine. Overall, I think the use of AI should be omitted. This place is ideal and convenient for food before you go to a concert nearby the Moody Center/Bass Concert Hall and the like. If you sign up for their membership, you get $10 to spend on food. It's similar to Wanderlust in that your drink amount is up to you to determine how much you want to drink. So i sampled a bit of cider, sangria and wine. I don't drink beer, and that's what they have most of. It's a fun experience. The food was decent. The staff are super friendly and seem to be putting in effort to show their appreciation of the patrons there and are interactive, come around to see how you're doing and answer any questions. We had the manager update us on the status of our food order because of something that happened in the kitchen. Thanks for that! Fries were good. The salmon entree was overcooked according to my friend. The burger was good as was the flatbread. Check out was kinda rough but I think the staff are still learning to work with each other and communicate who does what. I would recommend giving yourself 1.5 hours here if you want to eat before a show. They validate at one of the garages for up to 2 hours too. My first time to Austin and my first bar to visit. Everyone was so friendly. The restaurant has a bar and a good amount of tables to sit at. I ordered the fish and chips and they were great. I just removed some of the batter but the fish was tender, and nice and hot. Everyone from check in was all very friendly. They have beers on tap which you can pour yourself and the prices are on each one. There is great dining near campus, and you can find it if you walk past Tapville. I give this place 2 stars; it would have earned just 1, but the staff were friendly and tried their best. The other positive remark I can make is that there was a soccer game on the TV, but even that ended after 30 minutes. We could excuse the abundance of dirty tables, especially after a bunch of people leave at once. But I can't abide the food; it wasn't good. For a place that serves brunch, having bad coffee is a no-go. Pasta that is served dark brown and without sauce is a negative. I could go on about how poor the food was, but the only conclusion I could reach is that the kitchen staff was either untrained or short-staffed, as was the rest of the establishment. Management was present; we saw 2 people who seemed to be at the management level. I don't like to assume, but if both of them had spent less time reminiscing at the same guest's table, maybe they could have better supported the rest of the staff. One manager brought food to our table forgot his way back with the water we requested. The second manager liked to walk his dog through the restaurant; our last view of him was him sitting at the bar, drinking with other guests. Overnighting in Austin for work. I got out and walked to enjoy the weather. While walking i happen to walk by this place. Being that i was a bit hungry i decided to stop in. I walked in and a young lady from the bar got up and walked to the door to greet me. So i decided to sit at the bar. I sat there for almost 5 mins before someone came out to serve me. Today i was served by Frankie. I appreciate the amazing hospitality. Gave great suggestions. I ended up going with the grilled chicken sandwich and I will say that it was delish! Fries were hot! We had such a lovely experience stopping in here with our family while visiting from Michigan. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed, especially thanks to Cade, who was truly one of the friendliest and most helpful waiters we've had. He went above and beyond, not only taking great care of us but also sharing helpful tips and insights about Austin that made our visit even more special. The only knock I can give this place was their entree menu not being available until 3:00PM. This location is right next to UT and state office buildings that are full of hungry employees looking for something new. If I wasn't there on the clock, I'd enjoy a pint of beer. The Brunch here is so good. I had the sunrise burger and it was probably one of the best burgers ive had. The fall coffee flight was delicious and well worth the price! The staff is so friendly and goes over everything very thoroughly if your new to tapville. My boyfriend had the apple cinnamon french toast which was also very delicious. Kids are welcome during brunch. And they have such a wide variety of ciders to try, its tempting not to get them all .Its very clean and very spaced between tables which is nice and it definetly has more a bar feel than a restaurant. Which she was charged $14 dollars for! I went up a got a glass that was about 8oz but was charged for 14oz $15. My friend went up and the card stopped working. We had to go back and stand in a line to wait for them to 'reset the card'. Smores, maple bacon, butter pecan and a boozy option or you can choose one more. My friend ordered it and I got a really delish harvest salad. The server was cool, the booths were comfy, and around the corner was a whole building length of taps, I cluding wine, normal beer, and crazy versions of beer. However, Tapville did not check tickets, so a bunch of people without tickets filled the event space and displaced the rest of us who were unable to be directly in the room with the speaker. They also didn't get the presenter's TV set up. Literally the worst event I've ever been to. The manager apologized and offered half-off the beer, but it will be the last time I come here. read more

This was our first time in Austin and we were introduced to tapville one afternoon for a social event. The food was so tasty and flavorful that we decided to come back for dinner after the football game. Great service, great food, and great value!
