I have been coming to Day Maker for the last 8 months or so and every single time my service is A1, the food is always fresh and delicious and the staff always shares a smile! The menu here is exciting, vibrant and you truly can't go wrong with anything you choose. My friend has joined me on multiple occasions and I can say we have tried quite a lot from here and have never been let down. Bonus points for the seasonal or weekly selects they have - some super yummy creations. While it can get super busy on the weekends and the ambiance can be a lil overstimulating ~ I'm happy to come during the week days when it's a slower and I can pull up a chair at the bar for easy, laid back dining! They also have a designated window for to go order, quick orders or call in orders. This has become my go to! Every staff member is always efficient, kind and professional. I think the service from the staff sticks out the most and the food right after - and on a consistent basis that's just hard to find these days. Fabulous experience at Day Maker! First off, I found the service to be great. The manager was a really sweet guy who came over to chat and check on us, and our server, Savy, was incredible. She was so friendly, helpful, and just had such a nice charm about her! I really love some of the Austin diner spots that have such fun menus (i.e. Phoebe's). The problem with Day Maker is the menu has such interesting choices that I generally wanted almost everything. Went with the Chorizo Benny and I will be back for that for sure! One of my fave breakfast items I've had in Austin (and ive had some good ones!) We also had the enchilada and Churro pancakes. Parking is easy with its own big lot. They don't take reservations but instead they have an online virtual wait list you can put yourself on before even arriving. Drinks: -Still a Gin Jam was DELICIOUS! It has a hint of spice due to the strawberry Serrano puree, but is balanced very well with the rest of the drink. -The espresso martini was so good and highly recommend adding a shot of baileys to it... it's WORTH IT and makes the martini creamier. Entree: I had their special which was a brisket Benedict and if it's on the menu when you go, I highly recommend it. I visited again for brunch and tried some new things. We got one of each of the g by breakfast shot and sunrise shot. They are both so good and mild enough for the morning. Then we tried the Cafecito espresso martini made with tequila and the Russian that reminds me of a White Russian with whipped cream chocolate and cherry on top. Both were so out of this world amazing. I also recommend the dirty queso with chorizo and avacado and my personal favorite, biscuits and gravy. Left Richmond, TX at 4 am in order to make back to Austin in time for my friend's funeral. My stomach appears to be back to normal after a bout of food poisoning. Stopped at Day Maker Half Day cafe for breakfast. I've only picked up coffee and pastries in their to go area. Today I had the classic breakfast - sausage, egg whites, wheat toast, and hash browns. The breakfast was tasty. I am not a fan of blueberry. I thought the jelly was blackberry however I learned that it was in fact blueberry lemon. Stephanie, my server, offered me fresh toast with honey instead. I gladly accepted the toast replenishment. In addition, I also had a latte with lavender (my new favorite addition). Everyone was extremely friendly, which started everything off on the right foot. Our waitress explained the days specials, and she was so convincing we ordered one each of the special entrees. White peach mimosa carafe $23 - about three servings, expected at least four, but can't complain too much with the price. Good flavor! Dirty queso was great! Loved the chorizo and mini bottle of house made hot sauce they brought out. Pressed breakfast sandwich ..... one of the best things I've eaten this year. The meat was so flavorful, blended perfectly with the garlic aioli, pickles, and cheese. The eggs didn't add much, but I love a scrambled egg for brunch. Crab cake sandwich $22 - pretty solid! Great rémoulade sauce and a ton of crab. El Cafecito - my least favorite part of the meal, but I'm an espresso martini snob, so don't take my high standards as the final say Total came to about $100, which is pretty decent in 2026 Austin. Day Maker Cafe was such a cute and bright spot for our weekend brunch plans to get some food in our system and mosey around town. We rarely leave our Northwest Austin bubble, but to celebrate a warm and not so winter day, we knew needed to get out of the house, and hubs found Day Maker as a good spot to get some fuel in ourselves before we signed up for a hike down south as a family excursion. Service from our waitress was extremely friendly, prompt and attentive. She brought us the in-house hot sauce, a virgin Bloody Mary that rocked my socks off, and OJ. We loved our entrees, I went for a cauliflower rice bowl, kiddo got himself the Mac and cheese and devoured it all, and hubs got the Day Maker classic. All of this was fresh and so well made, we can't wait to return. I love Day Maker - I've been twice now and the vibe truly is like a more local, funky ihop but with more eclectic menu options. I had a pumpkin chocolate chip scone and one of their specials (ricotta toast) the first time, and my mom had classic pancakes. The second time I had their bulgogi bowl and my bro had chicken and waffles - all quite good! I've had their white peach mimosa and passion fruit mimosa and both HIT, plus my mom had a peach Bellini last time we went and it was delightful. There is always a bit of a wait on the weekends but there is a lot of turnover and the wait staff are really friendly and helpful. It's a good place to bring kids too, they have a cute kids menu and crayons/color pages. My nieces had a good time :) Overall this is definitely a great local go-to brunch spot! It's right where an ihop used to be, but the way they've done it up with the indoor and outdoor designs as well as vamped up the menu makes it a really fun and welcoming little place. She's gluten-free and finding a safe kitchen is difficult. First question after drinks: "do you have any food allergies that you would like for me to know about?" Do you realize how many points I just scored by choosing this restaurant? Our drinks were never empty. The Steak and Eggs (photo) was simply fabulous. We went to Day Maker this past weekend to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I looked over the menu ahead of time and decided on a few things, but once you get there and see the food it's really hard to make a choice. The bad part is that they do not take reservations. You can get on the waitlist but you never know what's going to happen. We checked the waitlist that morning and there were only a few people ahead of us, so we did not sign up yet because we didn't want them waiting on us. But after only 30 minutes we already had over 60 tables ahead of us. We drove over to the restaurant and checked in, and they told us it would be another 45 minutes. So we decided to do a little shopping close by but the minute we got to the store we got a text saying our table was ready. Apparently their scheduling process needs some work. But the food was great! The three of us split the cinnamon roll and there was still so much left over to take home. The quesadillas were really good and the avocado toast had really good flavor! There was something spicy on it and I did not care for that, but that's my personal preference. The hashbrowns were really good but my favorite thing was the breakfast shot featuring Jim Beam (whiskey), butterscotch schnapps, and a bacon garnish. It was so good! The restaurant is in an old IHOP but they've done a good job fixing it up. It's not a very big space and it can get quite loud inside, so it's not a good place if you want to go have a conversation. Parking is good because it's in a business park, so there is plenty of parking. We will definitely be back to try some of the other things on the menu! read more

The vibes here were immaculate--disco balls hanging everywhere, colorful art on the walls, and this cozy diner feel that just makes you want to stay a while. It's such a fun and unique atmosphere, definitely not your average café. I tried their breakfast shots and WOW--so creative and delicious! One even had bacon and whiskey (sounds wild, but it totally works) and it was absolutely delish. The food overall was a 10/10--super fresh, flavorful, and plated beautifully. You can really tell they put love into what they serve. The pancakes were SO GOOD!!! I also had the strawberry matcha, and it was incredible--sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. On top of that, our server was super attentive and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. If I could give 4 and a half stars I would. The wait is a little crazy, but I think they really are trying to make it as easy as possible. We took advantage of signing up for the waitlist before leaving the house. It was a little quicker than predicted, but not by much. You would never know this used to be an IHOP. The decor is bright and fun, and very brunchy. I was excited to find out that the Jack Allen's restaurant group owns this location as well. The service was outstanding from the hostess on down. We loaded up on cocktails (which came out so fast!) and two shareable plates to start. The maple bacon fritters were crispy and flavorful. The house waffle was savory and just okay. Pescatarians, CHEERS! You can now choose between the Lox Toast or the Crab Cake Benny. I couldn't believe it! I ordered the Benny and was NOT disappointed! The only downside? The wait time is STILL wild--about 1 hour and 45 minutes for a party for two on a Sunday. Weirdly enough, it was an off-the-menu item that convinced me to finally come! Austinites have been raving about their chicken Caesar salad wrap, and I feel like I rarely see that as an option in Austin. I also ordered a queso. It was really busy on a Sunday morning, so I ordered for take out, and it didn't take too long for them to make my order. I do think they're a more expensive brunch place (my chicken Caesar salad wrap and queso were ~$30), but they package everything really nicely and securely. I thought the chicken Caesar wrap was quite nice. It was a good size, and they also have egg! The fries that came with the wrap were delicious and perfectly fried. The Jack Allen empire continues to grow - and Day Maker is a welcome addition! We are fans and often pitch it to friends when we're feeling like a nicer breakfast or brunch. Love that it's central-ish and parking is pretty easy. First and foremost, use their online queue system! Their indoor waiting area gets crowded quickly so I highly recommend timing your arrival. Remember to check-in once you're there and try out their little cafe if you are feeling hangry while waiting. So clever for them to add this. Things we love about this place: their funky colorful vibes, extremely friendly staff, the churro pancake (very shareable), hash bowl (get yo veggies), and the chorizo benny (love the masa cakes instead of the classic English muffin)! Also gotta rave about their drip coffee. We dig the fruity, punchy notes so much I've gone back to get a bag of beans. Things I would suggest passing on unless you absolutely need them: specialty lattes (too sweet), state fair waffles (came a bit stale/cold, wasn't feeling the bacon/chive/berry combo), and frittata (didn't taste super fresh and gave me a tummy ache). To start, we had the maple bacon fritters which were like corn meal balls stuffed with bacon, fried, then layer on top of some maple syrup and topped with powdered sugar. The wife ordered the crab cake bennies which were pretty great as they didn't skimp on the crab like other places where it's more breading than anything. The fries were delicious too.
