A wide selection of delicious food with an extensive menu of both food and drinks. The atmosphere is fun and cheerful. Excellent drinks. Super friendly staff. We loved our meal And the entire experience.

Fabulous experience at Day Maker! First off, I found the service to be great. The manager was a really sweet guy who came over to chat and check on us, and our server, Savy, was incredible. She was so friendly, helpful, and just had such a nice charm about her! I really love some of the Austin diner spots that have such fun menus (i.e. Phoebe's). The problem with Day Maker is the menu has such interesting choices that I generally wanted almost everything. Went with the Chorizo Benny and I will be back for that for sure! One of my fave breakfast items I've had in Austin (and ive had some good ones!) We also had the enchilada and Churro pancakes. I can't wait to come back and I'd bring friends/fam here for sure that visit.

Parking is easy with its own big lot. They don't take reservations but instead they have an online virtual wait list you can put yourself on before even arriving. Drinks: -Still a Gin Jam was DELICIOUS! It has a hint of spice due to the strawberry Serrano puree, but is balanced very well with the rest of the drink. -The espresso martini was so good and highly recommend adding a shot of baileys to it... it's WORTH IT and makes the martini creamier. Entree: I had their special which was a brisket Benedict and if it's on the menu when you go, I highly recommend it. The Charred pepper hollandaise was a very flavorful and delicious surprise.

Cutest diner with classic menu staples and all elevated with a creative twist -- Daymaker Cafe is the kind of spot that just gets it right every single time. The decor is charming, the vibes are fun, and the service here is consistently outstanding. On my most recent visit, our server Brenda was an absolute gem -- bubbly, warm, and the kind of personality that genuinely makes your whole table smile. Beyond the usual diner beverages (love their coffee btw), they also have a full bar! But the real star? The menu. The diversity is impressive -- I've worked my way through the kimchi breakfast rice, huevos rancheros, breakfast sammy, and the classic pancake stack, and I have loved every single dish. I always find myself wanting to try something new, and I am never disappointed. Food comes out quickly, hot, and fresh -- portions are generous (a to-go box has definitely been needed), and the flavors deliver across the board. Even the classics taste like they were made with care. Fun atmosphere, delicious food, incredible staff -- Daymaker Cafe is a must-visit. Check them out!

Came for brunch with a friend. This place offers plenty of indoor seating, counter/bar with stools seating and picnic benches for outdoor seating. The server was very friendly. My coffee was great. My friend liked her cocktail. Our brunch plates were your typical American style dishes. Very good.

Came for brunch with a friend and we had the best time! If you're planning on coming in on a weekend, make sure you join the waitlist early. We planned to meet at 12pm and I joined the waitlist at 10am. We were sat almost immediately when we got there so the wait was no issue for us! The service was amazing. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. The hosts, the servers, and the food runners were all so personable! I was kind of shocked because it was BUSY but everyone was still upbeat, attentive, and we never felt rushed. It really added such a great vibe to our lil brunch date. The food was great. We had the bacon fritters, chicken schnitzel caesar, ham & cheese crepe, and the pastrami sandwich. The bacon fritters were good. I'd probably order something different next time, but I'm happy I tried them. The ham & cheese crepe was delicious! I'm a fry snob and these crispy potato wedges were baller. Crunchy, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. The rich/cheesy crepe paired so well with the fresh salad on top. The chicken schnitzel caesar was also delicious and I am also a caesar salad snob. I normally wouldn't eat this entire portion in one go but I could not stop it was so good lol. The pastrami sandwich was solid. I usually don't like pastrami, but I loved this sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised. The tangy sauce paired really well with the richness of the meat. Really happy we found this place :)

    Sunrise shot and breakfast shot

I visited again for brunch and tried some new things. We got one of each of the g by breakfast shot and sunrise shot. They are both so good and mild enough for the morning. Then we tried the Cafecito espresso martini made with tequila and the Russian that reminds me of a White Russian with whipped cream chocolate and cherry on top. Both were so out of this world amazing. I also recommend the dirty queso with chorizo and avacado and my personal favorite, biscuits and gravy. As if we needed more food we got the lox toast but replaced the poached egg with egg whites and the BLT grilled cheese. We had so much food I feel like our party of 2 should've been a party of 4. Great service and busy upbeat atmosphere! Can't wait till next time!!

Join the online wait list on their website before coming in. It fills up fast! The service was very good, our server sierra was very welcoming & warm. We enjoyed the diner steak, breakfast fried rice, plus biscuits & gravy. They have a smallish to-go coffee shoppe on the side of the check in desk. It would be nicer if the waiting area was bigger because of the coffee shoppe. But I get that it's nice for folks to get some caffeine while waiting for their table. The atmosphere is very clean & comfortable.

My new fave breakfast brunch spot! Love the vibe and atmosphere. The food is fresh and delicious. Service was great and seating was nice.

Benedict with home fries, just ok

Very good but not as great as Jack Allen's breakfast, which was surprising since it's a Jack Allen restaurant. I had the brisket Benedict and my partner had the French toast. We got an extra plate with the intent to share both. I will say their espresso martini was on point! Would probably try it again. Maybe it was just an off day

Had breakfast here today and was seated right away. The space has an elevated retro diner vibe that feels both fun and relaxed. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I ordered the breakfast fried rice--savory, a little spicy, and absolutely delicious. It's the kind of dish you don't realize you need until you have it. The coffee was strong and just right. What a great experience, can't wait to return!

Left Richmond, TX at 4 am in order to make back to Austin in time for my friend's funeral. My stomach appears to be back to normal after a bout of food poisoning. Stopped at Day Maker Half Day cafe for breakfast. I've only picked up coffee and pastries in their to go area. Today I had the classic breakfast - sausage, egg whites, wheat toast, and hash browns. The breakfast was tasty. I am not a fan of blueberry. I thought the jelly was blackberry however I learned that it was in fact blueberry lemon. Stephanie, my server, offered me fresh toast with honey instead. I gladly accepted the toast replenishment. In addition, I also had a latte with lavender (my new favorite addition). When I arrived at the cafe, the restaurant was pretty quiet. However, now they have had a steady flow of customers.

I was tasked with finding a brunch spot and this one seemed to be the one that won! Austin vibes and no stressing about parking since they have parking. The place was busy, but we found a table without issues. It was Sunday and brunch time so that was a plus to not have a long wait. The dirty queso (spicy chorizo, salsa verde) was delicious. Love the combo of flavors. I ordered the Lone Star Diner Hash. Not going to lie, all the dishes on the menu looked amazing. It was fresh, flavorful and thoughtfully made. Love the savory flavors. Staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely adding this spot to my rotation.

I would say 2.5 stars but I'll land on 2. The first time our server was an absolute nightmare. I honestly don't know why she was called to work at an upscale cocktail bar with such a disdain for her customers. I had a reservation with my husband and our other friend and she just seemed to generally dislike us and anyone else she interacted with. No smile, angry. I don't mind people not having a permanent smile, I can have a RBF myself, I get it. But my husband ordered a table side martini and this comes with a personal interaction with getting your custom martini at the table and I promise you there is nothing she wanted to do less with her day than make a drink at our table, and had no clue what she was doing. She was just potion mixing reminiscent of things I did in the pantry as a kid. She didn't know what to ask that he wanted and was just dumping a little of this, a little of that. He tried to make conversation because she's literally there kneeled at our table doing this, and supposed to be asking for preference on the drink, but not really saying anything. He asked "Do your friends always have you making the drinks because you know how to make good ones?" Her response was a deadpan "My friends are poor." Well. That's awkward. We didn't know what to say to that. When she was done mixing things she realized she hadn't made enough to include a sidecar which is part of this custom drink order. So what did she do? She mixed a bit of this and that again from the random pretty little bottles on her tray with no mind to what was actually being concocted and it was 100% different than what was in the glass. It was even a different color. The drinks made by the actual bar were good, but the server was so dismissive that it was just annoying to ask for anything. The second time we had a different server and he was very pleasant and as attentive as he could be, given the random massive crowd that appeared around our 6pm reservation time. The whole point of Powder Room is to relax and have an intimate, no phone experience, and this requires a reservation. For some reason they decided to let in some random 30 person wedding party or something that had no reservations and just stood basically with their butts in the face of all the seated reservations. It was such a loud volume in there that the server couldn't even hear us and brought the wrong drink. We decided it was too much and left. They did apologize stating they didn't know this was going to happen. Well, you have control over letting people in and this was a choice. I get there was money to be made off a large, random group, but it was at the expense of us as locals wanting to come back again.

We actually found it pretty last minute and decided to go early since we knew we'd be taking photos and didn't want to deal with crowds. When we arrived, it was pretty quiet, which honestly worked out perfectly for us. The décor is bold and eclectic in the best way, think velvet booths, curated gallery walls, low lighting, and these amazing feathered chandeliers that tie the whole space together. We ordered the Tiger Lilly cocktail and the Elote, both were fantastic. The drinks are not only pretty but good, which isn't always a given in places that are more vibe-forward. Ours were balanced, flavorful, and well-presented. The DJ was there, early, which was a nice surprise, it gave the whole place some life without being overwhelming. The staff was super kind, especially the manager who came by to check in and even gave us a little background on the space. We appreciated how welcoming everyone was. We heard that the night before had been packed, so it sounds like this place definitely fills up later at night. We're looking forward to coming back when it's livelier to get the full experience, but for a chill early visit focused on ambiance, great service, and creative drinks, it absolutely hit the mark. Pro tip: If you're someone who loves a visually aesthetic experience and wants a place to snap a few pics before the rush, go early like we did. Can't wait to return!
