    Al Pastor Torta

Our waitress at Quintonil recommended this taqueria specifically for their al pastor tacos and she did not lead us astray. We came on Friday afternoon around 4:45 and were able to get a table right away. We ordered the al pastor, steak and chorizo tacos as well as the al pastor torta. Everything was great but the al pastor tacos are what I am going to be missing when I leave Mexico City. Will definitely be going on my list of recommendations for friends visiting the city.

Al pastor for the win. The simple al pastor street tacos are great. If you want to add some flare add the queso which is almost like burnt cheese surrounding the al pastor served with fresh tortillas.

Great tacos and friendly local ambiance!!! Excellent service too! Seemed like it was a popular local spot.

Great food and fast service. If you're in CDMX and close it's a excellent spot to grab a bite. I'm uncertain if they offer a full bar, but they offer what appeared to be a good selection. The waiter gave me some direction when I ordered significantly more food than I should have. In my poor Spanish I was able to understand what he was getting at. Definitely eat here if you're in the area.

    Flan, it was delish!

We ate here 2 nights. Fast friendly service and amazing fast food. The portions were large, but was so good we managed to eat it all. We had Tacos, Tortas, Volcanos & Flan. The space is small but they make it work.

Great food and service. Lively quaint atmosphere. I ordered Chorizo/Queso and Nopal. Super good!

a seat to watch the street and the preparation of al pastor!

Hole in the wall with tremendous Tacos al Pastor. Also enjoyed the Guac-salsa (spicy). Service was FAST & FRIENDLY.

Seriously the best value we ever got for our al pastor tacos anywhere in Mexico. Recommended by our Airbnb host "not pretty place but great tacos". The recommendation was spot on.

This tiny taqueria in the Anzures neighborhood has the best al pastor that I have ever had. We came with the Sabores Mexico Food Tour. This place cracks me up because it is a pork taco place started by a Lebanese Jew. Well, his gyros did not work out, but the thinly sliced pork topped with pineapple, chopped onion and cilantro on a silver dollar sized tortilla was awesome. Surprisingly, I preferred the gringa, which was the same fillings with melted cheese on a flour tortilla. I combined the tomatillo and serrano salsa and the chile de arbol salsa for an awesome combination. I highly recommend it. It is a dive and crowded but totally worth it. At least they have chairs!

One of my favorite tacos al pastor. Basically behind the Camino Real and down a block. Since 1964. Open at noon until Late.

They were actually open today New Years Day, and there were at least 40 people seated outside waiting for their name to be called. This is quite the famous restaurant here in Mexico City. By the time it was our turn everyone was starving. The most awesome thing about this restaurant is the fast service. The servers literally sprint back and forth from the tables to the kitchen, and plus it's a team effort. I ordered the Chilaquiles de pollo, and my boyfriend ordered Enchiladas de pollo. All six of us enjoyed their world famous pozole with chicken, which I must admit, tasted quite good. This restaurant has their service down to a science, and they should patent it!

This was an opportune rest and sustenance stop made in the Centro area for some flautas (tacos…read moredorados/ rolled tacos) and pozole. It's a chain and located in a small mall area off a pedestrian shopping walkway/ mall. Take the escalators all the way to the top. Since you dine in, you have "free" access to their very clean bathrooms, making it another great lunch stop. We ordered 3 Flautas with cheese for 95 MXN and a small bowl of pozole for 92 MXN. The flautas were super huge, meaty, and ultra crunchy. The sheet of quesillo on top was a nice added delight. The pozole came with a side of tostados and a whole lime with a squeezer. The lime is absolutely required and adds to the layers of simple richness to the pozole topped with crunchy cabbage bits, radishes, and onions. The waiter definitely pressured us into get chips and guacamole, but the unexpected add-on was very reasonably priced and refreshing. Service was super quick and prompt. Plenty of seating is to be had here making for an even more convenient stop.

So Mexico City is a city that is truly a foodie's paradise-One can't throw a rock without hitting…read morea Michelin rated restaurant. Another thing this city has is very inexpensive spots you can eat, like pop ups or stands that serve such high quality food at very cheap prices. The third thing I found about this city is where this restaurant fits in-They have restaurants that are historic, that opened over 100 years ago-Cafe de Tacuba fits in that category, having opened in 1912. This restaurant is located in Centro Historico-just a few blocks from Zocalo. Its location is a very busy touristy part of Mexico City. When we arrived there was a 30 minute wait, but once we walked in it was obvious why as it was truly a work of art in there. The walls were adorned with amazing paintings and murals and interior designs elements that transported you back to Mexico in the 1950s and earlier. It was gorgeous. I don't want to call it a fancy place with all the stigma that sometimes represents but it was a fancy place without all the stuffiness of a fancy place. It was a very warm and welcoming place to dine at. There was a lady walking around with a platter full of conchas and churros that one could indulge in while waiting their main meal. I had to get a churro-it was so delicious. We also got chicken tortilla soup-it was so rich and tasty with the perfect blend of Mexican seasonings. I had a pretty good cafe con leche as well-you could really taste the high quality coffee beans they use in their coffees compared to what I'd been getting all trip in the streets. Now when you visit this restaurant and you could only try one dish-that dish begins and ends with Enchiladas Tacuba(355 pesos/$20.35) That's what I got and it was awesome. Its basically a chicken enchilada dish with a creamy spinach based sauce topped with cheese-flavor bomb to the fullest. 9.5/10 Item I wouldn't clarify this as an inexpensive meal compared to other places we visited in Mexico City, but I would call this place an incredible dining experience where one can just feel the importance of the building one is having this meal. Heck Diego Rivera had his wedding reception here in 1922. I for sure would recommend anyone who has the pleasure of visiting Mexico City, must add Cafe de Tacuba to their itinerary-it's such a rich experience.

Came for lunch with no reservations and waited for about half an hour. This place is massive and we opted to dine upstairs. Seating area are pretty tight and was a bit loud. We waited again for our server to get our order in. By this time, we were tired and hungry. I guess this is typical for a Sunday. I had the menudo and absolutely enjoyed it. My husband had the burrito which was fine, nothing special about it. Same with my Mom's mole and Aunt's fish tacos, just okay. Well not this time, first off, we werent allowed to reserve on the main dining area which is on the first floor cause our party had 5 people, so we were told to go to the second floor to make reservations. While we waited i decided to go to the bar and order a drink. It literally took like half an hour to get two drinks. While waiting for the drinks our name was called. They sat our party in this huge hall that looked liked a quinciañera hall. Our waitres had the worst attitude and took forver to take our order. We ordered some appetizers and my friends order some drinks. After like 45 min of waiting, the appetizers finally get to us but still no drinks. So we ended up finishing our appetizers and still no drinks. We finally decided that we were not going to order any food and were going to cancel our drink order. The waitress finally arrives with the drinks so we took them but asked for the check. Never again, horrible customer service, horrible drinks. My drink had absolutely no alcohol in it, it tasted like freaking juice. Horrible horrible experience. Skip the restaurant go for La Casa de los Azulejos take pics and leave.
