I know what sour cream tastes and looks like, and whatever was in this burrito was strangely thin and watery. When I took a bite, liquid was literally dripping out of it. All I could taste was dry rice and this weird, watery sour-cream-like mixture. It was incredibly unappetizing. But the separate rice and beans were somehow even worse. The container was probably 99% plain, dry rice. Nothing on top, no cheese, no garnish, nothing to give it flavor or make it remotely appealing. There was an absolutely tiny amount of beans--maybe a teaspoon--and they were extremely watery and unpleasant looking like diarrhea. I couldn't eat it. I genuinely felt nauseated looking at the combination and ended up throwing the food away. I hate leaving a review this negative, especially because I had a good experience here previously. But this meal was shockingly bad. For a Mexican restaurant, getting a veggie burrito and a side of rice and beans that are almost entirely dry rice is just baffling. You order and can sit at one of the tables inside or outside. The owner, Roberto, was so nice. He gave us a couple samples to try. The ceviche was really delicious. We also had a barbacoa plate and a fish taco plate. They make a variety of hot sauces, all from scratch and very fresh. Everything we had was delicious. The menu is simpler - a limited palette. We had the fish tacos, several little tacos autenticos, and fresh guacamole. Perfect. Everything delicious and quickly served. Roberto and his helper were quiet, funny, and gracious. It's December. The sitting room is heated by wood stove - very nicely. The sauces were homemade and fresh. We went home with eight tamales to serve story with wine and appetizers before Christmas dinner. Weaverville is lucky. Do you like the cooking of Gladys or Roberto? Have fun sampling their menus and don't hurry your decision. They are great cooks of authentic Mexican street food.
