We tried Orale's last night and it was ok. We walked right in and got seated which was great for a Friday night but everything else was a wait. They definitely need more staff. It took a good 10-15 min. to get drinks and give our order. Hubby ordered large cheese dip and it came 1\3 full of this HUGE bowl @ $12.99 which I thought was high considering it's not listed on menu. I had a margarita which had very little taste for $8 and we both had texas fajitas. After waiting a good 30-45 min. for our meal only 4 shrimp, which customary usually 6, was disappointing. We get this combo at most mexican places we go. Plus I had shrimp that still had vein which I hate having to clean my own shrimp during meal. A little more attention to detail would be good. The rest of the meats we're good with good flavor. Overall for a $70 meal for us I think we'll stick to other local Mexican places. May try them again down the road when they have more time to get established.

Chicken enchiladas blancas with rice and beans

Ordered takeout-it was ready very quickly and the host was super friendly. I walked through the restaurant to the salsa bar (delicious and fresh!) and it was very clean with a spacious bar area. I had chicken enchiladas blancas and quesadilla with ground beef. Both were seasoned perfectly and portions are large-definitely have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow!! Really great Mexican food so check it out if you're on the East side

Just had my first lunch at Onale's and it was excellent and very modestly priced! We had the luncheon fajitas- both beef and chicken.

We had heard such good things about the food and service that we had to try today for Cinco de mayo. I had Chicken Enchiladas Blancas. Such great food and perfect service despite being such a busy day. Loved the upbeat atmosphere! We'll be back for sure!!

Great food, beautiful place & wonderful people! We had Poblano Fajitas this visit. Delicious! I love the salsa bar too so yummy! We will be back often.

Tableside guacamole

This is probably our favorite Mexican restaurant of this type in Asheville. It's a really good value and the portions are generous. There's a salsa bar and the light green one, I'm guessing cilantro garlic, is good. Unlike salsas at other places it's thicker and not as runny which I think is better. The garlic sauce/paste on the shrimp/fish al mojo de ajo is really tasty, and REALLY garlicky. It's great on the seafood/vegetables and went well with the rice. The meat on the fajitas was cooked well and the tableside guac, however gimmicky, was delicious. The sauce on the chile verde was a bit more sour than I'd prefer and the meat was a little on the drier side but all in all, our meal was fantastic and priced very well.

Texas Burrito and side salad was delicious!

The space is very nicely designed and laid out. Plenty of room in a cozy environment. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, on top of being very effective. I was extremely pleased to find that they even had a few different vegetarian proteins for their various dishes. In terms of the food, I went with a burrito bowl with vegan chorizo. The presentation was fantastic: my photo doesn't do it justice. It was also enormous. Much more food than I could finish, but also delicious. There were so many layers of flavors and textures that really came together in a cohesive dish. The best part is that they offer three different house made salsas, which really leveled up the dish and the experience. I would absolutely recommend checking this place out. The very hip, somewhat low key vibe was comfortable while also feeling high end well designed.

We both ordered the chicken Tinga tacos with rice and beans and I thought they were phenomenal, they weren't my husband's favorite, but I would definitely order again. Sadly, it is over an hour and a half drive if we want to return. Alberto, the owner, was very welcoming, along with his servers and bartender. That day, they had a Mariachi band, which was really cool, and the music was great for the ambiance of the place. Alberto told us about his other restaurant, and I would love to go check it out one day as well. We observed him closely as he was speaking to all the patrons like family and was very good at answering any questions. There's a salsa bar that is included in case anyone wants to try their house-made salsas. They start you off with fresh chips and the dip they have. It is honestly the best we have had so far, and my husband loves Mexican cuisine a lot. It's a mix of refried beans with cheese sauce and red sauce. I ordered the Camarones Zarandeados-- Peel-and-eat shrimp, marinated in house seasoning, and garnished with fresh cilantro. Served with rice and corn. Along with a strawberry daiquiri. It was truly a dish I would want to return to eat. The seasoned shrimp were juicy, and I loved peeling them myself and getting messy with the juices. II usually dislike most rice made in restaurants, but this was definitely delicious, and I'd happily eat it again. My husband had a creamy burrito with steak , peppers onions , and olla beans topped with cheese sauce and served with rice , lettuce, and tomatoes on the side. His drink was a Corona margarita. It was a huge portion, and he was full after eating 3/4 of the burrito. It is interesting he said it was his favorite to date as well. We both tried the birria tacos , and OMG, they were so yummy!! The sauce made for them was perfect, and the meat was actually seasoned well. I've had other ones, and well, let's just say they weren't my favorite. We also tried the "paleta" shot. It tasted just like tamarind. That was definitthe order of ely great and refreshing even as a shot. We ended with the Sopapilla for dessert. It was truly a lovely evening with my husband after an almost 2-hour drive to Asheville, and I am eager to go back for the great food and ambiance. If you want great-quality food with a definitely great price tag, go visit La Cabana Mexican Grill.
