Sopapilla

Food is good. You must go there for their dessert sopapillas with fried ice cream. Everything about this huge dessert is delicious.

Another fun night for us at Morelia. Love the food, love the friendly staff, love the decor and weekly specials! Complimentary chips and salsa are served, and they have a house made hot sauce that is very spicy - if you like spicy they will bring this out upon request. The Wednesday special is enchiladas with your choice of meets or cheese, and choice of red or green enchilada sauce. It's served with Mexican rice, refried beans, and a side of sour cream. It's tough to beat the value. It was $35 for the two of us which included enchiladas (3) with chorizo, enchiladas (3) with shredded chicken, Pacifico (2), and a Margarita. We can spend that much at some fast food chains. It's consistently a really good spot when we're craving Mexican food.

We stopped here 2 weeks in a row because RJ was craving tacos. It's been 3 years since we first ate here, but after 2 more visits we can confirm that the margaritas are still a 5 and the food is a 2 or 3 at best. The first trip I ordered chipotle shrimp which didn't have much of a kick. The second time, I ordered Carne Asada and the meat was chewy and the rice was just flavorless. His tacos were just ok. But the food prices are cheap. We spent $50 on margaritas and $25 on food. The mango margaritas are on point!

Shrimp and Steak Fajita Lunch Combo

Stopped in for lunch and was pretty impressed. The server immediately brought over chips and salsa. I did get charged when I asked for extra salsa for the chips. The shrimp and steak fajitas was pretty big for a lunch portion. The restaurant offers daily specials. If you are in the area you definitely should give this place a try.

This place is always excellent! The staff is so friendly and the decor is cute! I usually come for Taco Tuesday which is always amazing! ($2 tacos!) This time I went to for the shrimp fajitas. Although the portion was great- enough for several meals, it lacked a booming flavor that I was anticipating. Chips and homemade salsa is complimentary which is great!

The salsa that came with complimentary nacho was fresh. We ordered beef, chicken, shrimp and mushroom hacienda fajita and the portion was generous. Enough meat and veggies in it. The fiesta combo platter that includes crispy beef taco, beef burrito and cheese enchilada was mediocre. I would give 4 stars for fajita and 3 stars for fiesta combe platter.

Stopped in for lunch. People seemed mostly to be doing take out but staff were very nice for my sit down. I had the 3 soft shredded pork tacos which were even better when I asked for green sauce. Fresh chips and sauce were so good I got the rest to take home.

Morelia Sample Combo Platter, Shrimp Enchiladas, shrimp taco bowl, Super House Burrito

Walked into a cozy and very cultural restaurant. I really like that that was very authentic and tasty. We got a margarita start that's so good we already pitcher. The taco salad with shrimp was so tasty you could taste all of the flavor and it was plenty of meat and shrimp in it. The sampler was plenty of food flavorful and also very diverse. The shrimp enchilada have plenty of shrimp and the authentic enchilada sauce topped it off. The super taco had the moly moly sauce and that really pushed it over making a dish overall even more delicious. It felt like it was steal we got so much food for the price you couldn't beat it. It wasn't something just throwing together, it was delicious on down to the last grain of rice. If we have any friends or family that like tacos or any Mexican will definitely be taking them here.

We got the Comal Mexicano, which is perfect for the two of us to make our own fajitas just the way we like. I dig the lime and onion whereas the Mrs. favors the tortillas and sour cream. We both agree the meats were cooked properly with a touch of seasoning for flavour. Flan was a very smooth texture, not gritty or lumpy, with a nice caramel sweetness. Friendly service made this a most enjoyable meal. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu in the future.

The food was just okay--nothing particularly flavorful or memorable, and some dishes seemed like they had been sitting out too long before being served. Service was also disappointing. It took quite a while for someone to take our order, and we had to ask multiple times for basic things like refills and utensils. The staff didn't seem very attentive or organized. The atmosphere itself was decent, but it couldn't make up for the slow service and lackluster food. Overall, not the worst place I've been to, but definitely not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit again.

It's cozy inside with ornate tables which seem to be hand carved and painted in a vibrant traditional style-definitely awakens your senses and mood. So the food...pretty damn good! I had perfectly seasoned steak fajitas served on a sizzling plate of peppers and onions. It came with rice, salad, shredded cheese, and of course soft tortillas on a separate plate. It also comes with sour cream and guacamole but I passed on those and decided to use the green salsa they provided at the table, which had a perfect flavor balance of savory and spicy. The portion sizes are unbelievable! My fajita plate was huge, I had plenty of leftovers to take home. My husband had a Torta Niurca sandwich which was massive. He loved it and was also unable to finish it! The service was fast and friendly. This is the second I've had lunch here. The first time I came I had chicken enchiladas which was just okay. Maybe that was an off day or maybe there are just certain menu items they have that they can knock out of the park. With the steak fajitas, they certainly did!

We stopped in on a Tuesday evening and were seated right away. It wasn't busy when we arrived, and while it did start to fill up, there was never a wait. The restaurant itself was clean and casual, and they do serve alcohol (it looked like they have happy hour specials as well, though we didn't try any). They brought out complimentary chips and salsa to start, with a note on the menu that a second basket comes with a charge. One thing to be aware of: the chips are not made in a dedicated fryer, so they aren't gluten-free. Service was a bit of a mixed experience. There was definitely a language barrier, which made communication difficult at times--our questions often had to go through multiple staff members before we got an answer. Food came out pretty quickly, which we appreciated since we were in a rush. That said, there were some hits and misses. I ordered tacos al pastor but was given steak tacos instead. I tried to explain the mix-up, but it wasn't resolved, and due to time, I just ate them. Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked and tough, and the tacos themselves were very basic--just meat on a corn tortilla, with extras like sour cream costing more. On the plus side, my nephew really enjoyed his kids' cheese quesadilla and fries (the fries looked crispy and well-made). Someone in our group liked the chorizo quesadilla, and another had the birria tacos and thought they were just okay--nothing standout, especially compared to other places. Pricing felt a bit high for the portion size and overall quality. There is a small parking lot, but we didn't have trouble finding a spot, which is always a plus. Overall, Casa Mezcal was convenient and quick, but between the order mix-up, inconsistent food quality, and communication challenges, it didn't fully hit the mark for us. I'd consider giving it another try if I were in the area, but with adjusted expectations.

Don't order takeout from here. Forgot my drink and my cutlery can't even eat my dinner.read more

So I opted not to go because I wanted to experience their atmosphere, customer service and food on a normal day of operation. Fast forward to the evening after Cinco de Mayo. I came in and I was kindly greeted, and since I was flying solo I went to the bartender was quick to greet me, got my chips and salsa to me (which is on the house), and took my drink order. The music was very festive on the inside, the wraparound bar is a nice touch, and the atmosphere overall definitely sets a vibe. I ordered some queso dip cause, why not and it paired nicely with the salsa. I then proceeded to order the Quesabirria Taco dish that was phenomenal and I HIGHLY recommend. The birria consommé that comes with it, it so good so dip those tacos like your tastebuds depend on it. To say the least I am glad I went there the day after Cinco de Mayo and while I'm sure it was a vibe itself, I don't think I would have quite gotten the service and experience I did when they are operating on a normal day. All good things in moderation I guess‍.

The service truly needs to be retrained. I apologize but when I ask for a sour cream it means I want it now, not in 10 minutes. The staff genuiwnly will not check on their tables for 2-3 business days, so visitors please take that into account. The chefs back there deserve a big kiss but I do not love the attitude and lack of service from the waiters/waitresses.
