Was craving a hard taco so stopped by this place. Ordered Al pastor soft tacos and carne asada burritos. Odd encounter: I asked the gentleman what type of hard tacos he had and he said only fish tacos so I ordered two hard fish tacos although I would've preferred two ground meat hard tacos. When the order came out, they were soft fish tacos and I told him that I had ordered hard fish tacos and he replied no we don't carry hard tacos. Wait what. Ugh. Ok I'm hungry so not going to be picky. I'll just have to satisfy my craving elsewhere. Ok so not so bad, the food is pretty good and decently priced. Burrito was $10.25. Fish Taco was $2.99. Al pastor Taco was $2.80. They add on a non cash charge if you pay with credit card. Would come here for some Mexican food in a pinch. Now tell me where I can get a delicious hard taco. Does anybody even sell that?

DoorDash order! The order was ready for pick up quick, and the order was accurate. Very well packed and organized. The food was really good. 3 Birria tacos and 3 Carne Asada tacos, and a side of rice and beans. The tacos were tasty and well prepared. They came with a good amount of meat! Everything was flavorful and tasted fresh. Excellent experience!

Best street tacos in SOCO...service is quick and friendly. Menu is focused on what they do well and it's consistently good.

The food at this Mexican restaurant was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The staff were also very nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Yessss amazingly good! I had 3 tacos de birria with cilantro, onion and added guacamole topped with red spicy sauce. Highly recommend to get the guacamole on the side and add to tacos!

This is all the bad parts that where removed from one taco

This place has changed their asada, its full of nerves, and gristle. I got one taco and look how many pieces with nerve and gristle where just in one small taco.

*Catering Review* A solid 4 out of 5 stars catering experience at our event. They showed up on time and set up everything within a good time. They provided the chips and salsas and they even had a sign to say what they're offering so our guests know whats on the menu. Definitely a good vibe. The staff were nice and friendly. The only downside was the seasonings for their chicken, I wasn't a big fan of it. I had to add extra lime juice to mask it.

These are not quesa birria tacos... also there's only two, not three.

Highly disappointed.. I ordered the 3 Quesa Birria Tacos through DoorDash... what I received was TWO regular birria tacos. That's not what I ordered. See picture.

Carnitas Taco. A little dry and slightly bland.

The worst Al Pastor tacos I've ever had! Dry meat, dry tortilla and no flavors whatsoever. Even the salsas had no zing to them.

Thankfully, I decided to stay for lunch because it ended up being a fantastic decision. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas with green sauce, served with rice and beans. Before the entrée arrived, they brought out complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa had a fresh, homemade flavor with just the right amount of kick--definitely a great start to the meal. As someone of Mexican descent, I'm pretty particular about Mexican food. It's easy to tell when dishes are made with care versus just thrown together, and Chuponcito definitely falls into the first category. The shrimp in the enchiladas were perfectly cooked--tender, juicy, and not rubbery--and the green sauce was rich, flavorful, and balanced without overpowering the dish. The rice was solid, but the refried beans were the real standout for me. They were creamy, well-seasoned, and tasted homemade, which is something I always appreciate. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is small, charming, and very clean, including the restrooms, which says a lot about how they care for the overall dining experience. While I still can't wait to come back for those chilaquiles, I'm honestly happy I missed breakfast this time because I probably wouldn't have discovered how good the lunch menu is. Chuponcito definitely earned another visit from me.
