I am a college student and I have food intolerance (beans bother my stomach in large quantities, so I either don't eat them or I eat small amount). I order door dash from here frequently now. I hate driving downtown, it can be anarchy. The parking lot in front of the restaurant is paid parking and very frequently full. Once the students come back in late September it will be chaos again. The food here is good, not great. I've kinda found my wheel house with those super nachos, my wife gets the asada fries, and my kids get the quesabirria tacos. This is pretty much our standard order. I've tried the quesabirria and it can be a little plain, but in the consume it is quite good. The carnitas on my nachos is always crispy, and that is definitely what I'm looking for when I get carnitas. The are seasoned well, but they are not top tier, though they are good. When the ask for changes to our plates typically they get it perfectly, so the kitchen pays attention, which I like. The last thing I need to hear is my kids complaining that they got something on their plate they didn't want. Not much else service wise when you eat in. very unpleasant and horrible experience. I came here for breakfast and mind I traveled from far away to eat at this restaurant because it was recommended by some of my colleagues. During my visit, I experienced several uncomfortable situation with the way I was treated by the woman with her hair tied back and wearing clear-framed glasses. I assume she is in charge, given how non-chalant she seemed acting with disrespect. She was extremely rude from the very beginning. She looked unfriendly from the moment I walked in and immediately started speaking to me only in Spanish, even though I responded in English. I didn't appreciate that she assumed I spoke Spanish simply because of my appearance. She had no patience whats so ever, while taking my order. I felt completely ignored. She seemed frustrated, and every time I asked a questions, she would respond with, "Do you want anything else?" With an attitude. When she brought me my plate, I noticed that one of her long fingernails touched my food. To make matters worse, before I had even finished eating, she took my plate away . I hope this establishment takes situations like this seriously and promotes a healthy environment where respect and humility are a priority. I accidentally ordered 5 tacos and I don't regret it a single bit. I used to frequent this taqueria with friends. The place is big with lots of seatings so it can definitely handle a big group dinner. Service is friendly and fast. I wanted to order three tacos. One chicken one beef and one fish. But I accidentally ordered three chicken tacos and a fish taco and a beef taco. Didn't even realize my mistake till food came to my table cuz the tacos are really affordable. Didn't flinch at the payment screen thinking oh yea that's a good price for 3 tacos. But yea I got 5. I was at first worried I won't finish them but they were so good they were gone fast. The best Mexican food downtown. Pretty cheap for less than $15 for a big meal. Service isn't the fastest, but good free chips. There is always seating. Ambiance is worse than Guads but food is better with a bigger menu as well. You can't really go wrong with anything kn the menu, but I'd also recommend trying their flan. read more

First of all I like coming here for my burritos. I stopped in during my lunch break and ordered a cabeza burrito. When I got back to work and took a bite, the meat tasted off. I tried another bite to make sure I wasn't imagining it, but the taste still seemed wrong. After work, I returned to the restaurant and asked if they could replace it. The staff kept asking me to explain what was "off," but it was hard to describe beyond the taste not seeming right. I've had cabeza before, and this didn't taste properly cooked. I asked for a replacement burrito with a different meat and handed back the original. However, when I got home, I realized they had given me the same burrito back. I asked so politely too which I don't get why they did me wrong. I was tired and hungry and wanted to just go home so had to go elsewhere for this reason. I do not recommend this place. The service was extremely unprofessional, and the staff were rude and unhelpful. I placed a large catering order days in advance and was informed in the confirmation email I would receive a call to finalize the details. The morning before my event, I called to confirm that everything would be ready since no one reached out. I was told the manager would not be in until Monday (my event being Saturday), but that my information would be passed along and I would receive a call back within 10 minutes. Two hours passed with no call, so I called again. This time, a very rude woman answered, said she didn't know what I was talking about, and hung up on me. I was responsible for providing food for a large company event and could not get any confirmation that my catering order would be fulfilled other than an email stating someone would call to finalize. When I tried calling back multiple times, my calls were either put on hold and disconnected or hung up on immediately. If they were unable to fulfill the catering order, they should have communicated that clearly and earlier. Instead, their lack of communication and rude behavior left me scrambling at the last minute to find another option for my company event. We ordered boiled chicken crispy tacos yesterday (9/18/25) and they were delicious!!! My son loved them so much we visited for a second round today! Unfortunately, for the past year or two I have found them to be TOO SALTY, but they honestly must have made some changes this week because the boiled chicken was seasoned perfectly on our recent visit. It serves a variety of Mexican dishes for lunch and diner in the $10.00 to $20.00 range. There are Mescian restaurants everwhere, but some do it better than others. Taqueria El Burrito is one of those places. It offers free chips and salsa with a large variety of sauces that range from the mild, to "My tongue's on fire!" Don't fill up on chips though, there's a delicious variety of tacos, burritos, tortas, nachos, and more to indulge in. The carnitas super burrito is my favorite because its loaded with meat, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, and cheese. It's size, falvor, and jucieness make it one of the best burritos around in my opinion. Speaking from experience, it is pure glutton satisfaction. The restaurant is casual so you order at the counter and pick up your food when they call your number. The employees are hard working, so they get the food out quickly. It's clean inside with pleanty of seating during busy periods. Just writing this review is making my mouth water thinking about that burrito. I'm looking forward to my visit! read more

The service is poor, not greeted when you walk in and the women who work there are just not friendly or welcoming. The food is SO expensive! Especially considering how normal sized everything is. Today I ordered a "super quesadilla" and it was anything but. Easily the worst quesidilla I've ever had. They only used thick white cheese and extremely bland unseasoned meat. I've had several burritos from here, and they make a San Francisco Mission Street style burrito. They do a very good job of it, and they can hang with aburrito joints in SF. The burritos have a kind of special smoky grilled flavor to it, and it is absolutely delicious. They also have lots of different kinds of salsa sauces that you can choose from. It's a little more expensive than the Chipotle next-door, but you get what you pay for. it will light up your taste buds! read more

Was my first time Trying this restaurant and I can say it was very delicious as well as had a great ambiance. Service is pretty minimal here. I was greeted by the cashier who took our order and then gave us a number for our food. A server then brought us the food quickly and thats about it. In terms of food, it was very good. I tried a Large agua de Horchata and an asada burrito and both were well worth the price. The burrito was decently sized and had lots of meat in it whereas other places fill them up with mostly rice and beans. The burrito was prepared well and had no major issues. For the Horchata, It was also very delicious and not powdery or strong cinnamon flavors in every sip. All in all, it was a great experience with good pricing and good serving sizes which will make me come again and again. I would 100% recommend this restaurant. read more

First and last time at this establishment. I went here because Guads was extremely busy, biggest regret. The staff has a major attitude, walked in and I was being mean mugged right off the bat. Weird behavior. Then I ordered 2 crispy tacos and a drink, the front desk lady put it in when my friend mentioned the lunch special and to get that instead. I asked for that instead and she was fidgeting on the register for AWHILE. It came out to like 25$ + tip. Then after we got our food and left, my friend said she thinks I got overcharged. She stated she saw their lunch special for the 2 crispy tacos plate was supposed to be 9.99. I didn't see that, the lady at the front didn't tell me or change it, and my friend was the one who saw it and was confused as to why I paid so much more. She asked if I got extra stuff, I said nope. Now let's talk about the food.... Not good. The best thing I had was the guac and chips.... My friends quesadilla was bland. Meat unseasoned. Only white cheese used. Deciding what to order was the hardest part, everything sounded appealing. After ordering at the register, my food was delivered to me fast. Finishing up my daughters move, so its time for dinner. All her kitchenware is packed away, so we had to find some local takeout. The menu is very diverse not just tacos and burritos, but also some great caldos, and cocteles. We had a couple of lengua tacos, the meat was extremely fresh, and the tacos were packed full. We also had the taco salad which was fresh, and full of flavor. THe Grilled Chicken fries were piled high with fries, cheese, and chicken. Taqueria El Burrito is an excellent choice for Mexican food. They have a huge menu with nice sized portions that should fill up the majority of people. There is a nacho bar with a selection of salsas for you to enjoy with your meal as well. The restaurant itself is well presented and clean! I was waivering on whether to give El Burrito a 3 or 4 star review. I ended up going with a 3 because while the food is good, I didn't find that it had anything that would keep me coming back. I'd say the star of the restaurant is the choice of meat. There are lots to choose from including well-loved favorites like asada and carnitas to more tradition Mexican fare. The meats are cooked well and have excellent flavor. Get a bunch of tacos and you'll be set! Where the menu deviates from tacos is where I found that it didn't hit the spot for me. The burrito bowl I ordered had a lot of ingredients, but other than the meat, the bowl wasn't very complex. There was a lot of lettuce and beans with a glob of their version of sour cream. It was ok, but I wanted something more. The nachos were good - I enjoyed that they were crunchy and fresh, but like the burrito bowl, it just lacked a bit of "I don't know what" that would keep me coming back to it. This place is one for me that is worth the drive to Davis. Restaurant is open late, clean, close parking, and the employees are always friendly. I have liked everything I have tried there but the Vegetarian burrito is my favorite. The enchiladas are good but the level of spicy is inconsistent so my daughter has a hard time ordering them. Sometimes they are mild, other times way too spicy for her. The servings are huge... even the kids meals! And the (free) chips and salsa bar has a lot of different options which are all delicious.
