    Tacos al pastor
    Jeff C.

I am trying very hard right now to avoid hyperbolic fluff, but I simply must state: these are the best tacos al pastor I've had that I can remember. Seriously. Pineapple-infused meat with occasional onion brings the taco to life and body slammed my taste buds. I ended up going twice in two days to get the same thing: tacos al pastor. My dining partner ordered the tacos birria de res and noted succulent shredded beef with lots of juices. A little lime here, a little hot sauce there, and whammo--a fiesta in your mouth. The rice and beans that accompany the entree are not bland and are fluffy and tasty. Chips are made throughout the day and get scooped out of the oven and into your bowl, something that is not only fun to watch but guarantees warm chips. Served with three salsas (the mild red one has tiny bits of carrot in it, which I loved). The horchata here is not overly sweet (thank goodness) and the agua fresca flavor collection is extensive and yummy. My personal favorite is melón (cantaloupe). Mexican Coke available as well. Easy to miss driving by but worth looking up and visiting. It's a great sign when the customer base is heavily Latino and they are praising the food as authentic. My service at night was unremarkable and distant. I got the feeling the server wanted to just go home. But the following day, with a different crew, service shone and was pleasant, so I'll write off the prior issue as an anomaly until it's repeated.

Really delicious Mexican food - and that's saying something after living in San Diego for 5 years. Was not expecting this high of quality of Mexican food in Utah. We got the Enchilada Style Burrito with Al Pastor and red sauce and the Seafood Burrito, which came with tilapia, shrimp, and green sauce. The Al pastor came with the pineapple, and the green sauce with seafood burrito was absolutely delicious! Also, the service was fantastic - they gave us chips and salsa, even though we were ordering to-go; and all three salsas were packed with flavor. The menu on here is out-of-date but here's the QR code link to the menu from inside the restaurant: https://www.galloloco.vip/home

This place is the truth I tell you! The owner is from Puebla, Mexico so you know it's authentic. Everything was mouth watering and delicious. We tried a little of everything. The fried cheese with meat was perfect! It came out piping hot and with so much flavor. My friend loved the guacamole rolls which consisted of guacamole rolled up fried with cheese crumbles on top. My main course was surprising. I wasn't sure what to order so the owner said he was going to surprise me. He came back with this seafood concoction consisted of shrimp and octopus. The presentation was cute and it tasted amazing! I was hesitant because I'm not the biggest octopus fan but I loved it. The texture was just right and the juices from the cocktail sauce completed everything. Overall I was highly impressed and if you want authentic Mexican food in the SLC area you must stop by this restaurant. They

The wife and I wanted something sweet after dinner and stumble upon this place. The churros were absolutely delicious! Freshly made and the presentation was on point. We will definitely be making this place a regular and can't wait to try their other dishes. Staff was friendly and welcoming as well. 10/10

Nice little restaurant. Parking in back as well as a drive thru. Everything was spotless. We were greeted promptly when we arrived and given the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Our host was super careful and gave us lots of distance for ordering. They use a QR code on the table. The menu was all online and easy to navigate. LOTs of selection for food. Seriously there is a wide variety to choose from. I went with a chimichanga and California tacos. Host brought us chips and Salsa to snack on. Super good chips that were crunchy and tasted great. The salsa was a little spicy, but delicious. Chimichanga was huge. So good. I seriously ate the whole thing. Rice was just a white rice. I ate some of the salad, but not really a salad person so don't judge me. I'm sure it was fine. California burrito was excellent. Very tender. Give this place a try. The service makes the experience worth it. The staff is so friendly. I will be back again for lunch another day. Great restaurant!!

    Meat only fajitas!
    Vanessa A.

I ordered 2 plates of steak fajitas for $17.95 each. No tortillas, rice, beans, cheese or sour cream. I called and the manager gets on the line and barley gives an apology saying they are too busy then proceeded to say "the fajita order comes only with meat the only thing they forgot was the tortilla". $65 with of food- I have eaten here before and this is NOT how it's served. Please excuse me while I go raid my fridge to find something to make a meal out of the meat they sent.

This was a place I have been wanting to try for years but always forget about even though it's basically around the corner from where I live. First the staff!! There where 2 people and they were the best two people who could have been there. Alberto (that's the name on our receipt) was so friendly! Our daughter is in Spanish Immersion and is trying to use what very little she knows. He was so sweet asking about her learning, and using Spanish with her. Food- we had quacamole which was very flavorful and fresh, the chips where crisp and amazing! My daughter got the special Tamales. It's not on the menu but he makes them from October to February and they are a must try!!! She got pork and beef. I kind of over took her lunch, it was so good! And they are huge! I got the Pepés Tacos- they are also AMAZING! I will definitely get these again. My husband got carna tacos and chicken tacos. The meat was so moist and had great flavor.

I ordered the fish tacos and a cucumber lemonade, and both were outstanding. The lemonade was incredibly refreshing and hit the spot perfectly. The fish tacos were crispy, flavorful, and served with several different condiments that allowed you to customize each bite and add even more flavor. The chips and salsa were also fresh and delicious. One thing to note is that the parking lot is small and was completely packed when we arrived on a busy Saturday afternoon. However, we were still able to find parking and get a table surprisingly fast despite the crowd. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere made for a great experience. They start you off with chips and salsa, which is always appreciated. Just know that the first basket is complimentary and any additional baskets come with a charge. Of everything we tried, the Cheesy Pastor Tacos were the clear standout. The birria, asada, and chorizo were all good, but the pastor tacos stole the show. Next time I'll probably skip the variety and just order those. The only thing that caught us off guard was the seating policy. They wouldn't seat our table until everyone in the party had arrived, even though the people we were waiting for were literally pulling into the parking lot. It wasn't a huge issue, but it did feel a little unnecessary and inconvenient. Overall, the food was excellent, the drinks were refreshing, and the experience was a good one. I'll definitely be back, especially for the Cheesy Pastor Tacos.

I was pleasantly surprised by the decor inside, they have spent a great deal for this location. I ordered chips and salsa to start. These were not complimentary but when they arrived the salsa was fresh and unique. I was glad I ordered them. My wife chose the carne asada burrito. She raved about the flavor and could only finish half. I ordered a unique taco which had an authentic name this gringo cannot remember but it was built on a house made corn tortilla about twenty inches long and ten inches wide. Steak, Mexican cream, tomatillo sauce, freshly shredded lettuce and cheese. I've never had anything like it but it is awesome. The service was quick and efficient. Very delightful people. The check had included a 15% Service Charge so I was glad to see the options on the screen to add a tip began at a level that matched up with the service charge at a reasonable level. While there were some things we enjoyed, the overall experience didn't quite justify the price. First, the restaurant is beautiful. The décor is modern, stylish, and very Instagram-worthy. It's easily one of the nicest-looking brunch spots I've visited in Utah. Unfortunately, the dining room feels overcrowded. The tables are placed extremely close together, making it difficult to have a private conversation. We often had to raise our voices just to hear each other, and even the servers seemed to struggle moving between tables. The atmosphere looked great, but it didn't feel very comfortable. The service was polite and friendly, but one thing bothered me. Shortly after we finished our main dishes, the check was brought to the table. We hadn't asked for it, and it made us feel a bit rushed, as if it was time to leave even though we were still talking with our friends. It's a small detail, but it affects the overall dining experience. For drinks, I ordered a piña colada, and unfortunately it was disappointing. It tasted overly diluted, with very little pineapple flavor, while the rum stood out much more than it should have. I also ordered the Vital Boost juice. The flavor was actually good, but it was served at room temperature, which wasn't what I expected from a fresh juice. For my meal, I ordered the breakfast burrito. It tasted good, but I couldn't justify the $20 price tag. It consisted of a thin tortilla filled with eggs, bacon, cheese, and potatoes, served with shredded potatoes and a small side salad. While everything was cooked properly, the ingredients felt simple, and the portion didn't match the price. I've had larger and more satisfying meals elsewhere for the same cost. My girlfriend ordered the birria tacos. They were decent but nothing memorable. We've had better birria at other restaurants. The consommé was much spicier than expected, and while some people may enjoy that, it wasn't our preference. The tortillas were also average. On the positive side, the lemonade was refreshing. I should also mention that Mexican food isn't usually my favorite cuisine, so I know my preferences may differ from those of other diners. Still, I always evaluate a restaurant based on the balance between quality, value, flavor, and the overall experience. In this case, I felt the food was good but not exceptional enough to justify the prices. La Condesa is definitely worth visiting if you're looking for a beautiful brunch spot with a trendy atmosphere. However, between the cramped seating, the value for the money, a few disappointing dishes, and feeling rushed at the end of the meal, the overall experience fell short of my expectations. I don't regret trying it, but it isn't a place I'd personally choose to revisit anytime soon.
