Sun afternoon, easy to get seated, server was friendly and did a great job, great menu, battery died in phone so no pics.... This used to be my favorite independent Mexican place in Rock Hill. Unfortunately things have gotten pretty bad. Service is slow to non-existing, with drinks having taken 20+ minutes the last several visits. Alcohic drinks are light on the alcohol, to the point where the Margaritas didn't have any alcohol in them. 30 to 40 minute before your food order is taken. And then they have been out of several items on the menu the last three visits. This place used to be a hidden gem. Unfortunately it has gone waaaaay downhill and I can no longer recommend it. read more

Mexican restaurant has a special on Tuesdays. Of course it is Taco Tuesday. You buy and you get one free. I chose all beef hard tacos. One thing for sure they put plenty of cheese on them. I enjoyed my dinner eating out here at this Mexican restaurant. I would return. However, I recommend visiting on Tuesday if you like tacos so you can take advantage of their specials. Specials: They have drink specials too. Also they have specials on other days besides Tuesdays. Just call for their daily specials on food and drinks and they will tell. I know they have margaritas on sale one day but not sure which day. Service was fast in everything you can imagine. They took my order and brought it to me within a reasonable time. I think I was only here for 30 minutes total. How cool is that? My tacos were good but I have had better. I like my hard tacos thin. These were bigger thicker wavier hard tacos. Having now re-visited Taquieria del Manhattan, several times I might add since my initial review, I just had to update this review to sing their praises once again. The folks here are doing so many good things on so many levels. The bar, the waitstaff, the food, it just doesn't get any better as far as I'm concerned, or that I've been able to find, in the Rock Hill or surrounding areas. The expansive menu and quality of everything that I have tried thus far, and I have tried several different offerings, is simply on point each and every time, no exception. I really love the authenticity, flavors, presentation and consistency of what Taqueria del Manhattan is offering. They are certainly the crème de la crème of amazing Mexican fare. If you love Mexican cuisine as much as I do, and you haven't been to Taqueria del Manhattan as of yet, go now! Here you will feast with your eyes, nose and mouth! What an experience! Left standing at the hostess stand upon entry while employees were just sitting around chatting it up at the bar, long wait before anyone came to our table to ask for drink order, stale chips dropped off on the table, non-existent service once the food arrived, no water refills, lackluster fajitas with meat minced so small we couldn't even find the chorizo that was supposed to be included, and to top it off, we were told they had no shrimp (had also ordered a shrimp based enchilada) literally one minute before they brought out my fajitas, so we ended up not ordering anything else other than the fajitas. This place needs some management. The food is super bland half the stuff we tried to order they didn't have. They have signs all over the restaurant advertising Pacifico on tap for $2 however when you order it they didn't have any. Then we waited 10+ min to have someone take our order (and they had 5 tables and what appeared to be 2 servers) so not busy. Our food came out just a few minutes later and as stated above bland. The waitress came and took our plates and that's never came back to give us a check. Instead she stood behind the bar on her phone. So after waiting 15 minutes I had to go up and ask for the bill. This restaurant had tasty food. I ordered the Enchiladas Pablanos and everything on the plate was delicious. The pablano sauce was rich and a little more spicy than expected, but still great. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because the TV was very loud at the bar and had on the news, which I did not want my kids to watch (they are very young). Mexican fare in rock hill. Probably one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. Nothing fancy but the price point reflects that. The food was done well and the service was good. The facilities were modest but clean. I ordered the fajitas nachos which were topped with homemade queso, steak, fresh peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Wow! So freaking good! I was not expecting to have such delicious Mexican in Rock Hill while visiting my mom. I'm from CO and the Mexican food there is fire . The pollo con camarones is DELICIOUS. I ordered a hard fried tortilla to accompany. - PERFECTION. The pablano smothered in Chipotle sauce from the dinner special, was so good, we kept mixing the cheese with it. YUM. The enchiladas, taco, tostada included in the meal were all tasty. The Milanesa de res was really good. Crunchy and well seasoned. We all enjoyed every bite of food. Green salsa was so so good!!! Very nice wait staff, but not very honest. I ordered the combination with the chalupa, tostada, and a beef taco. What was supposed to be a chalupa, seemed more like a taco. Knowing that it was not a chalupa, I asked the waitress about it, but she claimed it was a chalupa.
