Panchito's Mexican Grill is the kind of place that I love to find when traveling.  We have been here before (thanks to Yelp!) and you know its legit when you get there.  It's hidden in the back of the Clarion hotel in Fort Mill.    It was my son's birthday; we were enjoying the park (Carowinds) but wanted to get out and grab a real meal.  The portions are very generous, and the drinks are large!  You can split dishes here and try many different foods.  You really cannot go wrong with any dish, the service was fast and on point, especially with the waters and salsa.   For an Extra $5 they did a whole birthday celebration with hat for my son and that made the night complete, everyone left full and don't ask me how we rode the Fury After that, but we did!  If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant stop by Panchito's!

Came after Carowinds, outside of the restaurant made us iffy about the place but inside was real fantastic. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! Will definitely come back again.

    Taco Tuesday $1 each

It was taco Tuesday and we had a variety without disappointment! However I do NOT recommend any margaritas here-sweet and 'no alcohol' ‍First time we will be back to try other 'food'! Service somewhat slow-not really busyambiance on point.

Panchitos is a hidden gem tucked away in the shadow of Carowinds. Charlotte has a ton of Mexican food, some are authentic and some more Taco Bell, and Taco Bell adjacent. This however is very legit, more akin to what you would get going down South Blvd by "Marias" and "Tres Pesos" on Woodlawn. The staff is always very nice and welcoming, while I haven't seen them under pressure with too many patrons at once. I can say that they are very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Speaking of the menu, there is a wide variety of traditional Mexican fare...with a lunch menu and decent dinner prices to match. I personally try to get something new every time, from quesadillas to burritos I haven't been disappointed. This time around I ordered the Pollo con crema, the chicken was fresh and tender while the peppers and onions gave it a flavorful kick it offset the thick creamy cheese. I can't forget the chips and salsa, yes the free chips and salsa you get when you sit down. If you don't get free chips and salsa at any Mexican restaurant, it's a red flag and if they aren't good...RUN! Pro Tip: The drinks are excellent and decently priced (I didn't see the price listed on the menu last time I went). Ask for light ice and salud!

Was looking for a new place to try for taco Tuesday and saw this place had good reviews so decided to give them a try. I'm glad I read that they were located in a hotel or I wouldn't have been able to locate them as the signage is small and low to the ground so you literally have to be right up in it to even see it. When I walked in they place was nearly empty with the exception of the bar area. I skimmed the menu and decided to go with the flautas and their margarita which was on special for $8. The food didn't take long to come out. It was out after 10 mins of me ordering. When the food arrived the flautas appeared overcooked and the rice was dry and clumpy. I wanted to give it a chance so I bit into the flauta and the beef had a weird taste so I sent it back and decided to order something else. I ended up with ordering the Tacos Panchitos, one barbacoa & one chicken. I don't know why I insist on ordering chicken as my protein at Mexican restaurants b/c it's always bland, but the barbacoa was good. Excellent service from Jackie.

Another amazing experience at Panchitos! Service was excellent and loved the enchiladas de mole! The mole is so delicious, a must try! My husband ordered the enchiladas de suiza and a chimichanga on the side! Yep, you can order a chimichanga as a side. They make the best ones and so good and a huge portion! Also love the salsas! Always consistent and great prices!

We came on taco Tuesday. We each had o e carbs asada, pollo, and an al pastor. They were all fairly good, and honestly worth much more than a buck. The salsas are a bit thin for our liking, but had decent flavor. One word of caution, the spicy is SPICY. And don't forget to order a Margarita!

The ambience was your typical hole in the wall Mexican joint with the seemingly universally common menu. I've eaten at many of these over the years with a mix of experience, mostly middling to decent. I ordered the three‑enchilada plate (two cheese, one chicken), and the food was extremely bland. Nothing about the dish stood out in terms of flavor. The one bright spot of the visit was the service -- the staff checked on us regularly and were consistently polite. However, about two hours after eating, I began feeling very nauseous. That nausea lasted for several hours and was followed by bouts of extremely unpleasant "liquid elimination" well into the next morning. I am fully confident these symptoms were the direct result of this meal. I rarely leave one‑star reviews, but an experience that ends with a night of stomach misery absolutely warrants it. I will not be returning, and I would strongly caution others to think twice before dining here.

They had reggaeton playing, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The vibe was casual and laid-back. We were brought warm chips and salsa right away, which was nice. Our waitress took our order, but she was pretty absent after that. It was hard to get more napkins and refills on our beer and soda. The fajitas for two were really good -- 5/5. The cilantro rice, though, was a 1/5. It was very dry and way too salty, which was disappointing. The elote (corn on the cob), which I was really excited about, was a 5/5. So good. One thing that also disappointed me was the guacamole. The menu says it's prepared tableside, which usually explains the higher price. However, that wasn't the case for us. It wasn't made at the table, so that was a little frustrating since it seemed like we were paying extra for that experience. Overall, the food was mostly great, but the customer service was lacking. It was frustrating because we could see people waiting, and we were ready to pay and leave to free up the table. It was just hard to get her attention for to-go boxes and the check, and it took a while before she came back. Maybe we'll try again at a slower time.

We set up our chairs then went inside to place our order. They have TWO lines. One just for beverages, beer, wine & spirits. Then a food line where you can get both. There was a young lady at the front of the line with a wireless device who took our order and money. Michelle got a Fort Millsner and I got a coke. The lady said: 'they will call your name for the drink order and we'll send you a text when the food comes out' After about 10 minutes, they called my name and ONLY the coke came out. We waited for another 5 minutes waiting for the beer to be called, we never got called. I went back up to the counter and explained what happened and they immediately poured a Fort Millsner. We waited another 20 minutes for our food to come out. I got the 3 salmon tacos and Michelle got the Greenway salad. She said it was 'OK'. The flour tortillas were very dry and there was very little salmon on them. Very little pico de gallo and not much avocado flavor, disappointed. All in all we missed about 40 minutes of the concert performance. VERY disappointed with the lack of service. You're not allowed to bring in outside food or beverage. They can do better. There are SO MANY other things to do in Fort Mill so I hope they can turn it around.
