My soup looked really good but was super salty.-so much so that I only ate about a quarter of it. During this time our server came back-and-forth to check on us. Make sure everything was OK and refilled the boys drinks numerous times. The real problem comes when you consider the ambiance. The building was very old. The floors were very scuffed and did not look that clean the entire ceiling was those old-fashioned tiles and were stained with water and what might've been mold. The interior could've used a paint job. It was very bland looking. Overall, it didn't look the cleanest either. It's really rare that I have come across a place that was as dilapidated as this. My hotel is pretty much in the same parking lot as the mall, and the meal had pretty much solidified by the time I reached my room about 5 minutes later. The rice and beans, horchata, and salsas were good though. I should forewarn one salsa was extremely spicy. It was good, but definitely more spicy than your average Mexican or TexMex restaurant. And for the record, I'm a lifelong Texan, so I've eaten at my fair share of Mexican/TexMex restaurants across the state. I would've rated two stars for the abysmal enchiladas (men I've experienced better), but lowered the rating to one star. I had an upset stomach at 1AM.
