Their food is good! And they stay open till 10p which is great. The complimentary chips and salsa were perfect; the salsa wasn't at all too hot. Sweet young lady server, caring and respectful. Only thing I really disliked was that they were mopping and I had to smell the chemical while I ate. It was some chemical that was awful, like at a school in the 70s. And it was still an hour and a half till they closed, so why mop so early? Or get a better smelling cleaner. I'll just go earlier next time. read more

Tough to beat a good Mexican food restaurant, especially in northeast Texas. I'm used to SoCals-California's Mexican Food, where most places are good and there are thousands of great Mexican food places mixed in. So while I was in Muleshoe Texas, you wouldn't think this part of Texas would have the same quality of Mexican food as I'm used too. Well, I was wrong! Now I know why my dad loves this place, over the other choices in town. Great chips and salsa , as well as a great selection of meats, along side your traditional options for breakfast, lunch or dinner. When I go back, it'll definitely be a place we go to again. I think my dad goes there a few times a week, because it is one of the best. You just can't beat a place where the locals all go. read more

We stopped in on a late Sunday afternoon and we were quickly welcomed and served chips and salsa. I ordered the chili relleno plate and it was excellent; perfectly spicy and smothered in a delicious beef sauce. My husband got the enchilada dish and he loved it. They both were served with yummy refried beans and the best rice ever! It contained little pieces of tender potatoes, carries, and corn. Bravo!! read more

Excellent authentic Mexican food! I had 2 tacos al pastor and 1 taco carne asada, to go. Just delicious! One thing worth noting: She (the daughter, presumably) asked if I wanted lettuce and tomatoes, like that was the normal way -- gringo style! I told her I just wanted cilantro and onions and she seemed to acknowledge that she understood I wanted Mexican style. Everything on the menu looked good. Passing through the little town and stopped for the night. Across from my truck is this Mexican restaurant. Now, it's not an El Chico's, in decor or cuisine. It is what you would come to expect for many of the local restaurants that aren't part of a chain. This is very true for Texas. The waitress was very nice and attentive. You are served the customary chips and salsa prior to the meal. The salsa is really good. Spicy, but not enough to set your mouth on fire. They have an extensive menu consisting of very reasonably priced food. We ordered our selections and a short time later the waitress brought our dinners out. The plates looked great. My wife had cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. She raved about it. Real cheese in the enchiladas, nicely flavored rice, and authentic and flavorful refrained beans. I had the carne asada which came with a skirt steak topped with grilled cactus providing a wonderful flavor. I've not had cactus before so this was a treat. I'll be adding cactus to some of my own dishes at home. So overall this was a nice dining experience. Yes, I'll be back next time I pass through. Yes, I would not hesitate to recommend it. read more

Heading back to Austin and hungry for lunch, we stopped by Taqueria Guadalajara. We were treated to a clean, organized interior with tidy sections for the grocery and buffet. The food was fresh and delicious! I don't much care for meat, and was able to fill my plate with piles of delicious. Mitch enjoyed a full sampling of their selection, and left precious-little behind. Okay, this Mexican authentic style restaurant is by far the BEST Mexican food I have ever experienced, tasted, and paid for. You not only get your dollars worth, the prices are absolutely super low, I leave this place feeling as if I have taken advantage of them lol. The staff, oh my goodness, the staff is so warm, friendly, with a touch of old fashion love. I always feel like pulling them in for a huge hug. They are always kicking ass and taking names back there in the kitchen. These girls that work here, super cute by the way lol, are such hard ass workers which is a huge huge rarity compared to what you'll see in the restaurant biz. You get huge portions for super cheap, so please people, don't ever be a cheapskate and leave outta there without taking care of them with a good tip. Or this Veteran is comin' to knock on your door lol. The taste of the food is unlike other Mexican restaurants out there. Everything is always super fresh tasting. Wait a minute, I haven't even gotten to the best part,,,,They Have A Drive-thru!!! Come on, what Mexican restaurant has a drive-thru? Well they do and it's accurate and your order is fast but professionally done up. I'm originally from the State of California and there is NOT ONE Mexican Drive-Thru restaurants as this one has. The inside dining area is so neat. I really love the eclectic decor that surrounds this place on the inside. They have a tiny little candy and ornaments store as well, super low prices. Started out too late for breakfast. Hit two other highly rated restaurants and almost settled for the Golden Arches when I spied a hot pink building with the coveted words "taqueria". Walked in ten past 11 and they still made 7 breakfast tacos for my hungry family. Awesome read more

The place was a bit scary inside but the food was good. Predominantly Spanish speaking but also spoke english.
