I'm working the Coachella festival this year so when I showed up to Taqueria Guerrero, I was HUNGRY. It's 95° out. The ladies at the front (taking orders) were very efficient at their job and were bilingual! I want to practice other languages so I usually try to order en español when I get tacos. I proceeded as usual, and the cashier went along with it, not slowing her pace for me or dumbing the words down! Awesome. Best tortas? Yep i think so. So good! We had the chicken one at their Indio location and it was good but maybe it's just me but the tortas are better in the Coachella location. Ordered online. Came when they said order was going to be ready. Still had to wait 20 min after I showed up. Got my food, checked it, they gave me a platter with nose rice or beans. Took another 10 minutes to get that. Already irritated I got my side and took off. Got home and food was cold, then my wife told me that her order was supposed to have rise and beans also! I checked my receipt and sure enough! They weren't even busy for them to mess up so bad... not going back even this I've been going for years and always something wrong with this place. read more

When in today and seen this restaurant had a sign up in the front of specials. I decided to go for the carne asada fries. The special said $12.50 but the receipt said $12.99. When I approached the waitress I told her about the issue and if I can get a refund and she said "no" that they changed the system and they can't. I said okay well I need to speak to a manger because you guys can't have a sign that says 12.50 and then charge me 12.99. She never brought the manager. Lady was very rude about it! I will never go back there because it's clear that they're stealing money outta customers pockets by falsely advertising! Even if it's 0.49 cents. When I left they still didn't change the price. Tortilla chips taste like cardboard. Not a good place to have dinner at, ceiling is coming apart the fans are are set to the max speed and just knocks everything off the table I wouldn't recommend eating here it's so ass. read more

Believe me when I state, I've probably been to multiple hundreds of Mexican restaurants over my 67 years. Grew up in San Diego, traveled to Baja a lot and lived in Guadalajara as a student. So that being said I have some experience in this category. This is now my "go to" spot for a Mexican fix. Not splashy for sure, but the food and service is terrific. Last time in I ordered here I selected the hard shell shredded beef tacos, outstanding, just like those crunchy hand made tacos your mom made. These bad boys were fully loaded and came with rice and beans. Rice was moist and for sure made in house. There's a salsa bar with 4-6 different heat index's to choose along with fresh tortilla chips. You won't be disappointed with this selection. read more

Been here twice while visiting The Coachella Valley area. Picked up food last time and enjoyed it at the AirBNB and this time we ate in. The food was consistently delicious. I ordered Food from this taco shop on September 01, 2024 it was early in the evening and I felt like trying this new trend out. Having my food delivered is not a total stranger to me. I remember Pizza Hut delivered back in my day. My total order was for me and my family that just reached out to try new things. My total order was 57.00 I worked to make it special I had worked so hard this day. I waited and waited and before I knew it one and 1/2 hours had passed. When I called to inquire about my order the Taqueria Guerrero the person working said it was out of their hands and that if I would had called sooner it'll had been better even maybe received my food. He then told me to call Door Dash. When I called Door Dash they indicated that I called too late but even 2 hours later saying it was too late. After a little effort I reviewed my messages and noticed they had returned 14.00 and sent me a picture of a strangers house that was not the address I had put for my order. But yet Melanie the door dash driver had dropped off my food at the wrong address and the point was expertly made! They still didn't drop it off to the correct address why not give me my money back. They are thieves! And at this point I have no idea who is more to blame. Me for wanting the experience of them for not following through with my order and satisfaction. Taco Thursday! I had the Norteñas playing on my car radio for inspiration( even tho' that's not my cup of tea). Hungry, thirsty and anticipating the party in my belly. I ordered several "Tacos de cabeza" ...ayyy! I waited eagerly for my tacos. Tacos arrived "lethargic" and withought any "personality" whatsoever Like the staff on duty. Ouch!..although, Server was cool and helpful. Mis pobres tacos looked gray and sad. I took off my shades and still they remained looking like they belonged in the shade. Sun weary as I was. I was very excited to try this place out because of my last name and the name of this joint (Guerrero). The girl who took our order was extremely patient and friendly. I asked her what she recommended as it was our first time and she said that the asada, adobada, and birria tacos were good. I decided to try two of each. While they do have tons of salsas, they were watered down and one of them had a funky after taste. This was the first time ever I opted for no salsa on my tacos (it was that bad). Going to the bathroom was an interesting experience as you had to press a button to flush it. While the workers were friendly, the service was slow. I thought the people around us were finishing up their meals, but when the girl said number 54 I was shocked to see them just getting their food. We were number 65. I felt like I was at In N Out, but the service here was slower. When we finally got our food, I was not impressed with the birria tacos (not horrible though) but I did enjoy the asada and adobada tacos. I'm most likely go back for more before I leave the area. The food was very delicious. They had a lot of options on the salsas which was amazing. The only reason I would NOT go back, is the customer service. We got there at about 7:20, they close at 8 pm. The guy at the register was rude from the start. Before taking our order he asked us to sit in a certain part of the restaurant only which is fine, no problem. When he was taking our order he was so inpatient (no one was in line). When leaving, my parents said thank you, loud enough and at different times. The guy literally ignored them both. Worse place to do a phone order, I place an order over the phone 40min in advance, Because I knew they are busy on Tuesday and Thursdays I was told my order will be ready 25-30min, it took me 40 to get to the tacoshop and when I got there I had to wait another 30 min, I asked for my order and was told 30 more min to be ready.... So what is the purpose of calling ahead if they do not prepared the food till you walk in and paid? I am giving one star because that I can not give any stars. I'm learning that it dies nothing cause they don't start the order till you arrive and pay and you still wait. Food is pretty good for thr most part. But the wait here is getting worse. I waited 40 minutes for 2 carne asada tacos.

The stars are because food wasn't bad, but there customer service skills are terrible. I was polite & even after my food order was heard incorrectly I understood, but they responded rude as if it was their food. Also the salsa was spilled all inside bag due to them not properly placing 3 out of the four lids. I ordered over phone & was told 5 minutes got there in 10 & waited 15-20 more for two tortas, one was even without meat, and still waited patiently I feel if I hadn't asked about my food I would've waited longer. Tuesdays and Thursdays --- tacos are 1$! The tacos were good but instead of giving us fresh meat for the carne asada tacos, they used old meat. What's to complain? It's only for 1$. Food is good as always here but the staff is horrible when I'm talking about what staff I'm talking about the lady's in the front they are rude and seem like they just don't want to be there and to top it off one time I went in and this lady that work at this location had her kids there at her workplace I understand if if she didn't have a babysitter but I see this regularly with this lady and it's very bad environment for kids to be doing any type of activity.Kids need to be home or with someone that could look after them not at there parents workplace and this kids are around the age of elementary school kids and that is the only location I see it happen I prefer the Indio location 10 times more then this location. read more

Had a somewhat funny but terrible experience here I ordered the burrito plate combo (one taco, a burrito, beans & rice) I asked what came inside the burrito (lettuce, tomato, onions, and the meat) pretty much everything expects beans & rice. I asked if they could put half the beans & rice that would have came on the plate inside my burrito. she said okay. My total came out to $12 (without a drink) I thought that was pretty pricey & noticed they charged me extra to do that. A little upsetting but no big deal. about 1/4 way through the burrito I noticed my burrito just had beans & rice only When I took it up to them she told she thought I meant for the burrito to just have beans & rice. We laughed and I said I wanted everything including beans & rice. They replaced it no problem (which was the only good thing they did) after I sat down to eat again it suddenly hit me. They charged me extra to devalue the product They charged me extra to take the meat (and everything else) out of a burrito It bothered me that they would do this to their customers. To try and squeeze out more profit by using less food and charging more. They might have gained short term profit from doing this but they lost a customer in the long term. Over priced tacos, dry enchiladas with little or no cheese, guacamole that wasn't even mixed up! I don't even know where to begin. I heard some good things about this place and I was excited to try it. The customer service was horrible and the clerk didn't seem interested in taking my order. I waited over 20 minutes for me to get my food, that was cold. Once my food was ready the waitress man handled my bag and spilt the beans everywhere. The guacamole wasn't even mixed up!! This place has gone so downhill. Used to love the dollar tacos which are now .50 more and also smaller. Like what? How are you gonna raise the price aaaand make the portion smaller? Makes no sense. Anyway I still ordered my tacos with carne asada, 50% of the meat had inedible fat on it which was disgusting. Rice and beans weee okay but the rice has a very strong cilantro taste to it. You get freshly made tortilla chips with a delicious salsa. I had the carne asada tacos. Can never go wrong with this. Ordered three but one was enough for me.
