I and my friend went with their main special, quesabirria, which seems to also be a favorite at Mexican Grill La Guera. English is spoken fluently from a young looking staff person (there are others I am not aware of). My friend was recognized by the staff probably because he orders a lot from them but it was his first time dining in. The quesabirria delivered apparently comes in a soft shell which he likes more but we both loved the crispy hard shell served while dining in too. Making this decision is smart for a business as a crispy shell could not keep its freshness for delivery. I can't remember how the quesabirria is at La Guera besides that they make their own bread and it is good. I sense the same with Taqueria but I could be wrong. They have horchata, purple drink (Hibiscus I was told but it seems like it is the purple corn drink so probably both hibiscus and purple corn), and tamarind that they make in-house which seems typical but good for a Mexican place to have. I almost ended up with a guava soda when the waiter told me my drink options but then I asked about something on the menu about drinks and he didn't feel bad about having me order the other one and I had almost ordered both because I want to drink what they make rather than a random soda or water. That was nice of him but he didn't want me to feel overly pressured because not all my drinks options were explained up in the forefront. The pig ears were different but fine but you need to be okay with different food textures that certain cultures and foodies should be okay with: The nachos were a fun appetizer to start off with which are included with dining in. The beans with the option for a spicy sauce or creamy avocado (?) green sauce. Not sure what the white sprinkles were but I don't think it was sugar but it might've been and they still worked well with the chips. The inside is clean. This is kind of a "hole in the wall" as it is off the main area of Upper Darby. It seems prior mini-grocery stores haven't survived the pandemic and are being replaced by restaurants like this one in this area. read more

I'm not sure how I found this place but I'm so happy I did. I only came one time and it was a family sitting down and the guy who rings me up was super nice and had excellent customer service skills. I wonder if he was the owner the way he preformed. You can tell he cares and takes pride in that food. He was telling me how the enchilada verde sauce used to be spicy as I'm struggling to bare the heat from the one he made better lol. I'm really not into spicy food but it wasn't unbearable just a kick I never had before so it just makes me feel like it's more authentic which I love. Since moving to Philly from CALI I thought I was never going to find quality Mexican food but I have. The ride and refried beans here were very mid. Beans were puree lol no lie I just mixed it with the rice because I was like wtf but those enchiladas were good I'm willing to try again just because the man was so nice I'll order something new next time. read more

I love Mexican food. I've been all over Delco and this is the spot. My wife and I came out for some food and Juanchitos turned it in to a date night. Authentic, and best food I've ever had. The food is sooooooooooo good especially the quesobirria tacos they are my top ones!! I came with my friend and they ordered tacos I tried some of that as well and THEY WERE SO GOOD! Also the service is also really good they are really nice we left a 3 dollar tip but next time we come we going to leave a 5 because it's actually such a good place! Great food you can eat in or take out the service is 100% and it's a family owned business

Tried for the first time today; ordered off Grubhub and the restaurant called us before they could deliver the food just to let us know they'd sent the wrong order. They then went above and beyond to send their own drivers to give us the correct one and let us keep the mistake. Food was absolutely amazing! I will definitely order from here again! Oh and the driver that did the redelivery refused our tip! We understand it was the stores mistake but mistakes happen and y'all still spent gas to drive it to us! Big thanks either way! read more

This small looking restaurant surprised me. Their food was exceptional. Quesabirria tacos were so flavorful. Tostados was amazing as well. They had this cinnamon rice drink that was tasty as well. I live too close and too far from Taqueria Juanchito. When I tell you everything is everything. When I tell you it's clean like Mr. Clean. When I tell you it's good like mmm mmm (Campbell's soup reference). When I pick up, I'm asked if I need anything else. I had lunch with a friend and giving my card to pay I wasn't over changed. Today I Just Tried The Quesabirria. It was delicious and super flavorful. 3 different dipping sauces and each one had its one epic flavor bursting excitement. The staff was very friendly and even walked my food outside as I waited 7 minutes, when he said it would be ready in 10 minutes. So my food was done in a decent time frame.
