Food was tasty, fresh and delicious. I've been living in Texas for 19 years now, so I really didn't want to be disappointed with my tacos. Thank goodness the other place was closed and I walked down the street to these guys. Blessing in disguise. I got the Al Pastor, barbacoa and the simple and they were all very good and exceeded my expectations. Hot sauces are hot! It's a must try. This review is for the El Limon located in Bryn Mawr, PA. The food and service are outstanding at this very informal Mexican restaurant. We ordered the Enchiladas with Tinga (marinated chicken) and an Alambre with Carnitas (pulled pork). Both were absolutely delicious! The only reason for four stars instead of five is that the bathroom I used needed attention and an upgrade. Note: Better to pay in cash. I have been to El Lemon more than 20 times. Usually we come here on Tuesdays after we do a track workout nearby. We come in hungry and they seat us right away. I always order a burrito, tostados, or the enchiladas. But most often I go with the chirozo enchiladas and a side of pico de gallo. Additionally, they have an awesome variety of jarritos which always hits the spot after a hard workout. The make and deliver the food so fast. And everything we have ever ordered is delicious. I came in around 9pm (hour before close) with a group of 6 and had a negative experience. The only redeeming quality of the restaurant was the tacos, which were filling and on average 3.5/5. The guac was weak and could've easily been pulled from a grocery store. The service was abysmal. The young server working by himself in a nearly empty restaurant was surly and only seemed interested in clocking out as soon as possible. He seemed impatient as we ordered and honestly, just didn't create a hospitable environment small restaurants need to maintain a customer base. I felt like I was rushed in and out. He brought us waters but never refilled them. All of my friends and I ordered, but he only got 3/6 orders correct. One friend went home unsatisfied completely and simply made herself dinner because she didn't want to bother this clearly angry waiter. Two others didn't get food period and had to wait a few minutes for him to reorder and bring the food out. Honestly we decided to put the bill on one card because we did not trust this kid to bill us each individually and correctly. This waiter ruined the experience entirely and the restaurant deserves to know. I've worked hospitality and serving jobs before and I can understand when someone is having an off day or makes mistakes- but this is careless and bordering on aggressive behavior from the staff. Myself and my network will not be dining here anytime soon. read more

El Limon was very delicious! We arrived for a Sunday dinner and were seated immediately. It was a bit chilly, but the food made up for it! The service was super fast and the owner was so kind. We thoroughly enjoyed the nachos (al pastor). My quesadilla was good, but it wasn't the best I've had. However, the prices were reasonable and they offer a free margarita with dine in! I wish they had churros, so that is one recommendation, but we devoured our tres leches cake! All in all, we had a great time and enjoyed our dinner! read more

The service was prompt and the Burritos we ordered were the largest we've ever seen and very good, and reasonably priced. Staff here are very friendly, and the food is delicious, as in all their locations. There's a good amount of street parking nearby, and when the bank is closed you can park in the BMT parking lot at the next corner. They used to serve free margaritas, but it seems they've recently changed that policy to free soft drinks. read more

I ordered s veggie quesadilla and was sadly disappointed about how it was prepared. They burned it and the burned flour tortilla taste is not at all appetizing. It was too bad because the veggies were very well seasoned. The person who took my order was very thoughtful about my food allergies and made sure to keep me safe. Decided to try the new Bryn Mawr location of El Limon instead of venturing all the way to Ardmore yesterday. I got a pork carnitas sope and a chorizo taco, both of which I've had several times at the Ardmore location. The pork was delicious as usual, but had a pretty strong flavor of cinnamon to it, which wasn't bad at all - just a little different than the carnitas I've had several times in Ardmore. They forgot to give me some lime wedges which I was a little sad about, but not that big of a deal really. I realized yesterday that apparently when you get a "supreme" taco, those toppings take the place of the onions and cilantro that come with the regular tacos. In my opinion, the supreme toppings should be in addition to the onions and cilantro - then they would be really bangin'. I really like the atmosphere/décor of the Bryn Mawr location better and the layout makes much more sense with the kitchen being in the back of the restaurant instead of off to the side. It just had a more comfortable feel to it. Will definitely be back soon! read more

I've ordered the Cubano tortas here a couple of times and let me just tell you its massive. Like the burger can barely contain all the ingredients within it! It's delicious though, the runny egg goes great with the pork and guac in this sandwich and the jalepenos add some nice kick which comes through really well! One con would be that it is definitely salty which could put some folks slightly off... The chips are alright, and of the 2 salsas its the green one I prefer here! Nice and spicy! Flan is one of my favourite desserts, and El Limon has a good flan. It's on the firmer side but tastes well balanced! I'll give the tacos a shot here soon because...duh? This is nothing close to real Mexican food, but that's okay: it's pretty good for gringo-mex food considering this is such a white college-town area. After a day out a couple of friends and I decided to try the local spot for tacos, burritos, nachos, etc. We each ordered steak burritos and loaded chicken nachos to share. The tortilla wash fresh and the steak with the all of the fillings were great. In the nachos the chips were crispy and the chicken wasn't dry which I usually find so it was great. My third El Limon location. Same food, but different clientele and service. I guess this place is catering more towards the college crowd, so it is LOUD and full of drinking college kids, so service is also shot (I'd be impatient too if I were around drunk kids all the time). If you just want to eat without the craziness, I'd recommend going to the other nearby locations, but if you're all about having a drunken dinner without getting dirty looks, then this place is for you! read more

Ordered a Cesar salad which on the menu indicates Parmesan, however they switched the cheese to imported queso fresco without telling me. Not an ideal cheese to eat if you are pregnant, luckily the label says pasteurized. I didn't get an answer on the Cesar dressing but probably unlikely they made it there with raw eggs. Otherwise, recommend the al pastor taco. read more

Bryn Mawr El Limon is the third stop on my quest to visit all of the locations. You can see that the restaurant's image is starting to standardize nicely across all of the locations, with similar decorations to Ardmore making an appearance here, too. The menu is a carbon copy of the Conshy and Ardmore locations (this time on white paper), with no change in price. The staff is welcoming and attuned to the customer's needs. For example, they brought water to the table as we sat down and within three minutes took our food orders. A chorizo burrito and al pastor enchiladas made up the meal JJ and I had this time. The quality and familiar taste is just as apparent in Bryn Mawr as the other locations. They've also started to put very melty, stringy cheese inside the burrito, which is a welcome change. The final (and best!) surprise was that I received the single largest/best-stuffed burrito of my life. I legitimately could not finish the burrito--and I always finish El Limon. The remainder is sitting in my fridge now, begging to be devoured. read more

Don't get me wrong I love el limon and it's chain, food is good but this specific place has terrible service. I went in for dinner with the nice weather and I had to stand and wait for 10 min before anyone acknowledged me. The restaurant only sat 4 tables so it was rather not busy and staff jus didn't care having a nice chat in the back. Have been here multiple times and recently came across a better Mexican restaurant on the Main Line (El Tio in Berwyn) so I'm sorry, NO, this is not the best Mexican on the Main Line. It's very ok. The enchiladas are satisfying, the tacos are alright, and the burrito is very medium. You'll be satisfied here. But you probably won't be blown away. It's a popular spot so it can be busy (lots of Villanova students) on Friday and Saturday nights. But this doesn't really reflect quality, instead, convenience. I've also experienced longer-than-I'd-like wait times. After visiting Xolo Tacos and then El Tio (quite good), I will not be returning to El Limon. read more

We love this restaurant chain. This was great the first time. Went back last night to extremely poor service. Waitress didn't know what was in the meals. There was little meat in our tacos. I brought it to the manager's notice and he said, I'm sorry! We waited to order more food but neither the waitress nor the manager stopped by or gave us a look. We ended up skipping more orders at the end. The table next to us got better service and were asked if everything was good. Not us though. Other locations are much better. I feel like the price was reasonable, but I just love my meal. The first time I went, I ate the torta sandwich. It was spicy, good, and different. I tried tacos the next few times and weren't ever really that impressed. Everyone tells me it's authentic, but I was looking for homemade tortillas. These came from a bag. The corn tortillas were inedible the last time I went. Two times while I was there, the kitchen starting smoking heavily and they had to open the front door. I'm not sure if something was wrong with the exhaust, but it didn't help with the dining experience. And the chips on the side are definitely not your run of the mill chipotle chips- the sauces they give with it pair it well.
