A solid, convenient choice just steps from the border near the Simsa building. Plenty of styles of tacos,(many parts of cow), mulitas, quesadillas, and even tortas. They also do milkshakes and various aguas frescas. The tacos are 24 pesos each, equivalent to about $1.33 each based on an 18 peso/dollar exchange rate. They are on the smaller side compared to other stands.
Tacos may not be the best you've had, but have been consistently well prepared, we usually order Adobada(pork) and Asada. These two are the best for us. Occasionally a simple quesadilla. The Asada has a excellent mesquite flavor. Just one of the 1000s of Taquerias in TJ, of course. Can't ever remember a bad visit here though, and I've had many more than the check-ins show. Mostly because the cell service is poor- it's close proximity to the border has your phone trying to guess your location. It has much less attention now, than years ago when everyone had to walk by upon entering Tijuana. This has changed since the newer El Chaparral crossing, routing incoming pedestrians about a block away from here. We've been coming here for over 10 years, in conjunction with our dental visits nearby.
Caliente sports book is next door for your betting needs. I've left my kid eating tacos numerous times while I go make a quick football bet. There again, convenience! read more
