The Barbacoa meat on my tacos was all gristle and tough unchewable chunks of fat. I would never serve this to anyone let alone charge them for it. The burrito that we got was ok, but not great. Proceed with caution here. We have gotten food from the Taqueria Los Primos restaurant in Laurel, Maryland numerous times and it is always the best ever tacos etc. This food truck was not great at all. Yelp is prompting me to discuss the ambiance - it is a food truck in a gas station parking lot so that is the ambiance. There was food refuse scattered around in the parking lot in the area of the taco truck.

Nestled in the corner of US1 Liquors' parking lot lies Taqueria el Poblanito. The people are very friendly. I've had the same gentleman take my order a number of times. He speaks English and Spanish (both of them VERY quickly), so don't worry if you don't speak Spanish. SE HABLA ESPAÑOL (para los que no entienden). I've had the pupusas and the tacos. The pupusas are delicious and greasy with good pickled cabbage to offset. The tacos are pretty good. On my last visit, I ordered thee types: carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas. The carne asada was fine - good beef. The al pastor took me right back to my favorite taco place in Mérida, Mexico. This is how I knew these guys are the real deal. The carnitas were totally disappointing. Whatever cut they had was riddled with creamy white cartilage that was really chewy. They either got our order wrong and gave us something else or they used some really cheap cut (isn't shredded pork supposed to be a cheap cut already?). Sorry, El Poblanito, that cost you a star. At $2.50 a taco, it's not a terrible deal. Small corn tortillas offer an authentic taste you just can't get at most chains. Each came with a slice of avocado and loaded with chopped onions and cilantro. While the onions were juicy and a nice crunch, they were pretty overkill. They'll also include a delicious salsa verde picante if you like. They don't have a to-go menu (or even number to call), but check out my photos of their menu. If you're driving along the Jessup area and want a quick and truly authentic Mexican treat, drop by this truck!

They have been here a while, but have certainly spruced things up over the years with outdoor seating areas and a colorful lighting. The food here is nicely prepared and presented. See my picture of a taco plate. It is chock full of toppings, sides, and a nicely charred jalapeño pepper. The griddles onions are a nice touch! And trust me, there are some delicious tacos under there somewhere. Prices and portion sizes are comparable to other food trucks and mexican eateries in the area. Service is quick and friendly, even right up until near closing time. Give them a try if you are in the area. They are good for a snack before or after a game at the nearby sports facility.

We've seen it from Columbia to Finksburg MD! This time we found them at an event in Savage Park in Savage MD, (Jun 2026), in a cluster of trucks gathered in a corner of the parking lot next to one of the fields in a little league tournament. We already had hot dogs before we saw the DMV truck, and we had no regrets, but also no room for more. But we love love these birria tacos. Tender, juicy, flavorful, with lots of consommé on the side for dunking. We got some to take home, and they reheated really well, losing none of the flavors or aromas, just losing some of the crispiness of the taco shell. They were a glorious mess! We got an order of flavorful shrimp tacos, too. Scrumptious! Generous! They had birria, chicken, shrimp, or veggie tacos or quesadillas or burritos or rice-bowls, loaded fries, even a birria grilled cheese, birria empanadas, or a birria or combo hoagie! That's like a week of comfort foods to choose from! Beverages include Jarritos, and they have churros for dessert with sipping chocolate. Where will we seem them next! I don't know if corn tortilla is generally softer, but i prefer my tortilla crispy. I reheated mine on the stove hoping the tortilla would get crispy. Although it was improved, it wasn't much better. I also tried the pickled cabbage and didn't like the flavor. I generally enjoy Latin food so am definitely willing to try other menu items that excludes corn tortillas. Given that their Laurel location has received high ratings that is a reason for me to give them another chance. I will just need to stick to flour tortilla or their other offerings.
