Nestled in the corner of US1 Liquors' parking lot lies Taqueria el Poblanito. The people are very friendly. I've had the same gentleman take my order a number of times. He speaks English and Spanish (both of them VERY quickly), so don't worry if you don't speak Spanish. SE HABLA ESPAÑOL (para los que no entienden). I've had the pupusas and the tacos. The pupusas are delicious and greasy with good pickled cabbage to offset. The tacos are pretty good. On my last visit, I ordered thee types: carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas. The carne asada was fine - good beef. The al pastor took me right back to my favorite taco place in Mérida, Mexico. This is how I knew these guys are the real deal. The carnitas were totally disappointing. Whatever cut they had was riddled with creamy white cartilage that was really chewy. They either got our order wrong and gave us something else or they used some really cheap cut (isn't shredded pork supposed to be a cheap cut already?). Sorry, El Poblanito, that cost you a star. At $2.50 a taco, it's not a terrible deal. Small corn tortillas offer an authentic taste you just can't get at most chains. Each came with a slice of avocado and loaded with chopped onions and cilantro. While the onions were juicy and a nice crunch, they were pretty overkill. They'll also include a delicious salsa verde picante if you like. They don't have a to-go menu (or even number to call), but check out my photos of their menu. If you're driving along the Jessup area and want a quick and truly authentic Mexican treat, drop by this truck!

My coworkers did not enjoy their carne asada burritos. They said the meat closer resembled ground beef.

I was able to easily order online before leaving a dental appointment, and by the time we arrived at their location, the wait was only a few minutes. They provide an electronic pager so you can wait comfortably in your car until your food is ready, which was especially appreciated with unmelted snow still on the ground. Although this is a food truck, they have their setup very well organized. The smells coming from the ordering window were absolutely mouthwatering. Chicken Tacos - Four freshly made tacos with your choice of meat (we chose shredded chicken), topped with onion, cilantro, radish, lime, and multiple sauces. My grandson dove into his meal so quickly -- after kindly sharing one taco with me -- that I forgot to grab a photo! Birria Pupusas - Three generously sized pupusas stuffed with beef birria, cheese, onion, and cilantro, served with cabbage on the side. We also ordered the Plátanos (fried plantains), served with a dollop of sour cream -- delicious. The portions were very filling; I have more than enough for another meal. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the prices were very reasonable. The best compliment I can give? My grandson has already requested that whenever I come to visit (which is pretty often -- I live just three miles away, LOL), we order takeout from here again. I think we've found a new regular spot -- one I only wish I had tried much sooner!

Good food; generous portions. Less than a 10 minute wait on a Saturday mid-afternoon.read more

I ordered this burrito fully expecting bold, savory chorizo, fluffy eggs, maybe some spice, maybe some life. What I got instead was a tortilla filled with what can only be described as warm bean water. Not beans. Not chorizo. Not eggs. Just... essence of bean. It was astonishingly bland. Like the seasoning simply clocked out and went home. At first bite, I genuinely thought something was wrong with the jalapeños -- there was this odd earthy flavor that made me wonder if they hadn't been washed. But no. It was just that same thin, watery bean taste soaking into everything and erasing any hope of flavor. And the salsa? Somehow even more disappointing. It tasted old and just as bland, which felt almost impressive. We ordered on a Sunday morning -- prime breakfast time -- so there's absolutely no reason this should have tasted tired and neglected. If you are craving a real breakfast burrito with actual flavor, save yourself the heartbreak. This was not it. Not even close.

Overall I give this place a five star. Parking can be an issue if you park right in front of the store just because the gas station is right there and when is busy and can be a pain trying to get out. But the food is delicious. Highly recommend!!!
