Nestled in the corner of US1 Liquors' parking lot lies Taqueria el Poblanito. The people are very friendly. I've had the same gentleman take my order a number of times. He speaks English and Spanish (both of them VERY quickly), so don't worry if you don't speak Spanish. SE HABLA ESPAÑOL (para los que no entienden). I've had the pupusas and the tacos. The pupusas are delicious and greasy with good pickled cabbage to offset. The tacos are pretty good. On my last visit, I ordered thee types: carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas. The carne asada was fine - good beef. The al pastor took me right back to my favorite taco place in Mérida, Mexico. This is how I knew these guys are the real deal. The carnitas were totally disappointing. Whatever cut they had was riddled with creamy white cartilage that was really chewy. They either got our order wrong and gave us something else or they used some really cheap cut (isn't shredded pork supposed to be a cheap cut already?). Sorry, El Poblanito, that cost you a star. At $2.50 a taco, it's not a terrible deal. Small corn tortillas offer an authentic taste you just can't get at most chains. Each came with a slice of avocado and loaded with chopped onions and cilantro. While the onions were juicy and a nice crunch, they were pretty overkill. They'll also include a delicious salsa verde picante if you like. They don't have a to-go menu (or even number to call), but check out my photos of their menu. If you're driving along the Jessup area and want a quick and truly authentic Mexican treat, drop by this truck!

Luscious birria, veggie, or shrimp tacos, burritos, quesadillas, rice bowls, churros, more!…read more DMV makes just about our favorite Birria tacos! This truck gets around, too. We've seen it from Columbia to Finksburg MD! This time we found them at an event in Savage Park in Savage MD, (Jun 2026), in a cluster of trucks gathered in a corner of the parking lot next to one of the fields in a little league tournament. We already had hot dogs before we saw the DMV truck, and we had no regrets, but also no room for more. But we love love these birria tacos. Tender, juicy, flavorful, with lots of consommé on the side for dunking. We got some to take home, and they reheated really well, losing none of the flavors or aromas, just losing some of the crispiness of the taco shell. They were a glorious mess! We got an order of flavorful shrimp tacos, too. Scrumptious! Generous! They had birria, chicken, shrimp, or veggie tacos or quesadillas or burritos or rice-bowls, loaded fries, even a birria grilled cheese, birria empanadas, or a birria or combo hoagie! That's like a week of comfort foods to choose from! Beverages include Jarritos, and they have churros for dessert with sipping chocolate. Where will we seem them next! And will we venture past the birria tacos? Stay tuned :-)

They have tables set up if you don't want to take your food to go or eat in your car. The service is pretty quick. I might of waited ten minutes for my order of chicken tacos. I'm not a corn tortilla lover but however they make their tortillas have changed my mind. The first time tried them they had a crisp text to them. They reminded me of a soft chip. There is no gritty taste to them. The chicken is seasoned down! It's so tednder and flavorful. I liked the red and the green sauce. I just poured it all over everything. I'll try something else the next time I pass through.

I was able to easily order online before leaving a dental appointment, and by the time we arrived at their location, the wait was only a few minutes. They provide an electronic pager so you can wait comfortably in your car until your food is ready, which was especially appreciated with unmelted snow still on the ground. Although this is a food truck, they have their setup very well organized. The smells coming from the ordering window were absolutely mouthwatering. Chicken Tacos - Four freshly made tacos with your choice of meat (we chose shredded chicken), topped with onion, cilantro, radish, lime, and multiple sauces. My grandson dove into his meal so quickly -- after kindly sharing one taco with me -- that I forgot to grab a photo! Birria Pupusas - Three generously sized pupusas stuffed with beef birria, cheese, onion, and cilantro, served with cabbage on the side. We also ordered the Plátanos (fried plantains), served with a dollop of sour cream -- delicious. The portions were very filling; I have more than enough for another meal. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the prices were very reasonable. The best compliment I can give? My grandson has already requested that whenever I come to visit (which is pretty often -- I live just three miles away, LOL), we order takeout from here again. I think we've found a new regular spot -- one I only wish I had tried much sooner!

I guess they give you arepas (or maybe they ran out of tortillas) with it. I wasn't upset by the arepas. The aqua fresca was good and I also tried a chicken burrito which was good. The chicken was seasoned but not as flavorful as the carne asada. I also enjoyed their chips. It wasn't like Tostitos. The place is clean and nicely decorated to represent Mexican culture. We got a menu and we sat down. We were the first ones to arrive and two more couples came after us. Although we're the first ones to arrive, the staff took deodorant of the Latino family first. When she came to her to take her order, I asked her why she took their order first when my husband I arrived before hands. She went ahead to say the Latino couple who spoke Spanish with her, had called in. I found it hard to believe because if they had called then why did she have to take their order again & mind you, I spoke Spanish with her. My husband's ready to leave, however, since the reviews were decent we stayed. We ordered nachos, chicken with cheese and jalapeño cheese pupusas, as well as two tacos. The food lacked some flavor and personally I did not like the chicken pupusa, perhaps because my stepmother makes them really good. I don't think I'll come back here. I believe in making a review, I consider everything from the time that you walk into the door until the time you depart. Favoritism may not be appealing to all the customers, especially in a small environment.
