Grilled chicken burrito.. God forgive me but it's the worst burrito ever made. The rice was over cooked and barely any chicken on it. F-

Pésimo el estado de burrito que burrada! Rice was over cooked and no chicken. Yeah I wouldn't recommend that to anyone. Sad day for Mexico in Jersey city today..

i go to this spot whenever I get the craving for chicken empanadas. They are super good, I personally recommend the chicken empandas with no cheese. The empandas come with cheese protein your choice and jalapeños. The place is super cozy and the tv provides great entertainment. The staff is patient and the food comes out in 15-20 minutes depending on your item. Every item is fresh. Their chips and guac are super good. The guac is so creamy and the flavors are amazing. Only downside is the tacos are not too good same with the burgers. Overall great hangout spot to get quick bites.

Taqueria Sabor Mixteca was our first dinner after getting back from 24 hours of plane travel and dealing with jetlag. Like I said, we were really jetlagged so from what I remember, the food was pretty good and prices were reasonable. We ordered two campechano tacos, an Al pastor burrito, chips and guac, and a quesabirria. The quesabirria consommé was great and I'm happy they had it available because a lot of Mexican places don't have it. But it seems like it's becoming more and more popular nowadays. The only thing I wish they had on the menu was soup but other than that, I'd definitely want to order again and try their other menu items.

I found this to be low quality Mexican food. Don't get me wrong... it wasn't bad. I still ate it. But it was more like Mexican food you'd get in a food court at the mall. Again, not bad. Just not high quality, either. I got a steak taco and chicken fajita. Steak taco was dry and hard to swallow, but tasted good. The fajitas - not a fan of the chicken bits instead of sliced chicken. Kinda flavorless too. Rice is TOO SALTY. Corn tortilla (they only gave me 2) is very...thick. And yes, as others have said, soggy. Beans are yum. All together, somehow edible and somehow I keep eating it. So yeah, 3 stars. Edited to add: The more I thought about it, this place is really cheap which is a huge perk.

Dear Jersey City taco lovers or those who frequent Taqueria, y'all don't know what you're missing out on!! This BRAND SPANKIN' NEW Mexican restaurant is the BEST taco spot in jersey city. It's so god damn good I went back TWICE this weekend. Yes, it's further into an area you probably don't want to travel to BUT everything is made with love and goodness. It honestly is the closest thing to LA tacos and I am very impressed! Please keep in mind they are still improving their inner restaurant but there's plenty of tables and chairs! They accept credit card but the machines aren't ready yet so cash only until next week. Tacos? OMG GIRLLLLL. I am a low key taco connoisseur and the beautiful trait about this hidden gem is that they make all their tortillas from scratch and TO ORDER. Girlllllllllllll. The pork tacos are by FAR the best tacos I have ever eaten in my life. Down straight to how tender the meat is and the toppings placed on top from cilantro to diced onions, this is my FAVORITE here. Get a side of guac for $3 and place the sauces they provide for free on top and you have a HELLA amazing, mouth watering taco. Carne Asada is also VERY good and also recommend as well! Please do this neighborhood restaurant & your tummy a favor and try it RIGHT NOW.

Meh. Mediocre at best and the chicken nuggets taste like salt. The "service" is crappy too. Not going back.

Our server was very on top of her stuff, making sure we had everything we needed and we were enjoying the food. She even let us practice our Spanish with her when ordering! My sister ordered the chicken tinga tacos and I ordered the beef birria. Both taco orders came with 5 tacos (because of the deal, it is typically 4), onions, cilantro, lime, and radish. Don't sleep on the radish, it my favorite part to add a nice crunch! Both meats were very flavorful and tender. They also gave us green and hot salsa on the side (green was my fave) and the birria tacos came with some delicious consommé for dipping. We also ordered guac and chips as an appetizer which was very fresh, and our favorite jarritos flavors to drink. It's decorated very nicely inside - no frills, a few tables and chairs inside for dining in and even a bar-style area with stools for those dining by themselves. They also offer takeout of course, but I honestly enjoyed sitting down because everything was very quick and they took great care of us. We walked, but there is only street parking so keep that in mind when traveling here.

The restaurant is located in the busy downtown area of Grove St. Jersey City. If you are lucky enough to get street parking great, if not there are some garages you can park in for a fee. I walked up and there were several employees at the entrance to the outdoor street-side patio chitchatting. They were very pleasant and quickly gave me a table. It wasn't busy. That's a key fact. Also I was dining alone. It took about 5 minutes for the waiter to come over and when he did he asked about my water preference and showed me the QR code on the table to get the menu. He left and came back and I gave him my order which was the carnitas tacos and a watermelon margarita. He quickly walked off and the food came out LITERALLY in 5 minutes. I was surprised because I was expecting the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa that's customary at most Mexican restaurants. Also I saw other tables with 2 or more with chips in front of them. So I asked a waitress that was passing by (since my waiter had seem to disappear) if I too can get the tortilla chips and she said it would be extra. Okay...well I started eating my food and my drink came out. The food was good. Flavorful. Temperature wise it didn't come out hot, it was warm... so it's not cooked to order. The drink was sweet and strong. So my reason for the three stars isn't the food or drink but more so for the service I received as a solo diner. My waiter never came back over to check on me! Had he done so I would have easily ordered dessert and something more to drink as I enjoyed the patio area. I had to wave him down to bring my check as he passed my table several times without even looking my way. Piece of me wanted to mirror his service in my tip but I still gave generously just to be a blessing. But I hate that I received poor service because I was a solo diner. I was a little jealous on how he treated the two other tables with 2&3 people. I spent over $50 here and left disappointed. So if you've reached this far, will I go back? Maybe. Just not alone. Looking for a quick dinner, I decided to come here on a whim. Because it was raining pretty decently, I opted to eat inside. There's a small size dining area in the back, though the ordering area and hallway leading there is a bit narrow. Anyhow, for those who are new, the concept is similar to Chipotle, except that they create everything for you behind the scenes. I basically opted for the burrito bowl except with the vegan chorizo (Tacorizo). Before adding the sauces, the Tacorizo had a good amount of heat to it. I simply added the two mildest sauces and it was just enough. Bowl tasted great and it was obviously very filling. Good spot for a quick bite.

That being said, the habanero sweet orange sauce and the elite corn they have from the sides menu... Best things I ate there! I don't even know what that orange mayo like sauce was on that corn but it made me sad knowing I only had two cute baby corns to eat, I just wanted to keep getting kernels in my teeth for that cob. And the habanero sauce, was downright slurpable. I didn't bother drizzling when you can just take a shot of it after every bite of either taco, burrito, whatever you get. Had to separate this paragraph for the tacos I got. I got 4 tacos. A pollo pastor, a shredded chicken, regular pollo, and regular carne asada. Now pollo and carne asada, nothing too special. Standard but with the way they sauce it and present it, I can say solid taco. The pollo pastor...as someone who can't eat pork, this was a blast to eat. They use mini chunk pineapple and put a good amount of condiments to balance it all out. Chicken not dry and super flavorful. Also enjoy the single tortilla over double. Less carbs. Now that shredded chicken. While not dry, I don't know where that bite was taking me. I just wasn't feeling it and I can't pinpoint why. I don't know if it's the extra stuff on top of it, or the fact that the corn was my fave but the side sauces didn't help. I'd def come back for the other 3 but not that shredded one. That limonada was sooooo good and refreshing! I thought I'd get horchata when I had the chance but because that limonada was hitting right, didn't even bother. And the fact it's like unlimited refills if you get a drink, totally worth it! Overall, I appreciate the patience of the manager and cashier. They were really nice and helpful. The interior was sick too. Repurpose lockers for chairs. Baseball stadium chairs. Definitely tight but just right. I was struggling finding spots for Mexican food, I have a pretty high standard for it, but I'll give this a solid/perfection score lol
