Still one of my favorite taquerias since they have a salsa de piña that works perfectly with their al pastor. Service was great and was able to have us served right away. Their asada tacos were my absolute favorite! I asked for pico de gallo on top and I couldn't have it any other way. The asada was juicy, well marinated, and was PACKED in the tacos. After venturing through this part of Upper State Street for so long I can't believe I haven't experienced TSB before. After a fun wine tasting day in the El Paseo and La Arcada Plaza we walked by and noticed their Tacos & Beer sign and decided to take a chance. With their plethora of meat choices for the street tacos we tried those that we knew, and a couple new ones. Gotta say, their Suadero, Carnitas, Tinga, Chorizo, and Pollo con Mole were all served in generous portions, and were delicious. Also their chips and salsa were a tasty start. The carnitas street tacos were very good. The meat was excellent, nice and soft meat, cooked perfectly. The tortillas were a bit rubbery but it was probably just an off day. We had a side of Mexican rice. That was super yummy too. The rice was soft and had great flavor. The restaurant is on State Street but not with all the restaurants down by the shopping blocks, less crowds but still a lot of patrons. They have plenty of tables to sit inside or outside and a nice selection of different flavored horchatas. We had to get the strawberry flavor and of course a bottled coco-cola. Located right on State Street that has now become closed to car traffic, the seating is right on the side walk so if people is your jam, you'll have a prime seat for viewing. A lot of restaurants are located nearby, so the parking is very convenient. Food: 3 Lengua tacos were my choice for that night and they were very good. Juicy, flavorful and filling and doused with hot sauce and a squeeze of lime and cilantro, delicious!!! Didn't even care about the raw onions (not a fan) You have your choice of fillings, so get what you like but you really can't go wrong with any meat choices. Nothing fancy, but very filling and the meat cooked perfectly. Ask for hot sauce. Chips and guac are freshly made and the pricing is better than any place in LA (trust me). Summary: Sadly, I no longer have reason to visit Santa Barbara anymore as family have moved away from the area. However, if you happen to be in the area on your way to Solvang, stop by for a bite. There are a number of taco shops in Santa Barbara that you can go to seeing as the area is part of the Spanish exploration era, but come here if you're in the area. By far one of the worst set of tacos I had today. All the meat was cold and the carnitas still had Manteca in it. This place was ok when it first opened but it sucks now. They overstuffed my tacos with cold meat. Thank god I was actually hungry or I would've had to return them. I'm hoping that El Pastor Del Rica (Canelos brother) will open up a taco shop in Santa Barbara soon. I had their tacos in Guadalajara and they were fire. For a quick meal this taqueria has really good burritos. I ordered a torta which was ok but when I tried my fiancés burrito it was much better. I have also had one of their alambre dishes here which was also good. I have had their watermelon agua fresca and Jamaica agua fresca and both were good. I think their buzzers were not working today and instead of writing a number on the receipt or saying they don't work each guest was given a non working buzzer and the cashier would just keep saying excuse me, excuse me to get everyone's attention which I thought was annoying to hear while eating when this could have easily been solved by her walking 10 steps to deliver the food or given a number or taken a name to call out once the food was ready. read more
