I got a horchata and a Cubano and let me tell you this was super delicious the price is risky worth the cost and I would looove to come here again and try their other things. It was a bit busy but there is a decent amount of indoor sitting. The flavors were so yummy too I highly recommend coming here

So fresh and delicious. The customer service is awesome. So friendly. I got nachos such a large portion! Really affordable for being in Santa Barbara. I loved the red and green salsa as well.

i love this place, it's my favorite place to get tacos in santa barbara. they are pretty cheap, and delicious. as a pescatarian i love that they let you make your own taco, my recommendation is beans rice onions and cilantro. the people who work there are really nice, and there's never a long wait. sitting inside or outside is good! i love sitting outside it feels pretty secluded.

These tacos were packed full!! So much meat! Super great price for the amount you're getting. Super tasty too! The green salsa I had was SPICY, but great flavor, would definitely keep coming back!

Who is in the mood for an unforgettable burrito ? Omg, so I waited til late to think about food. Right around the time Taqueria Santa Barbara was closing 8:40 pm Ordered a chicken burrito The staff was really cool They jumped right on the order And made a really great burrito Taqueria has this creamy pineapple sauce... I got that along with my burrito And took it to go... Rice was litely seasoned... Texture was soft.. Burrito wrap was perfect to the touch But the chicken.... And that pineapple sauce Now this is where you look for someone to slap ( for the record I do not condone violence.. So it may be better to slap yourself ) Yea, possibly the best burrito I've had on state street.. And we can thank the pineapple sauce I highly recommend the chicken burrito with the pineapple sauce

Going to a matinee at the Granada on a Sunday afternoon and craving some delicious Mexican food? Look right across the street and stop in for some yummy tacos de pescado. Muy deliciosa!

pollo con mole on left, fish on top, pork rind on bottom.

Good stuff! The pollo con mole was QUITE good! The other two pictured, the fish taco and the Chicharrón en salsa verde (pork rind) were... okay. I wouldn't get them again but I could have eaten three more of the mole taco right then and there. The other more traditional tacos (pastor, asada) are quite good as well. Super solid spot! Underrated and deserves more love from the community.

Fun menu with something for everyone.

After venturing through this part of Upper State Street for so long I can't believe I haven't experienced TSB before. After a fun wine tasting day in the El Paseo and La Arcada Plaza we walked by and noticed their Tacos & Beer sign and decided to take a chance. With their plethora of meat choices for the street tacos we tried those that we knew, and a couple new ones. Gotta say, their Suadero, Carnitas, Tinga, Chorizo, and Pollo con Mole were all served in generous portions, and were delicious. Also their chips and salsa were a tasty start. Never did get to the beer part, but enjoy the silky Horchata. I also see they have some nice Vegetarian selections. Looking forward to trying those and other menu choices.

The carnitas street tacos were very good. The meat was excellent, nice and soft meat, cooked perfectly. The tortillas were a bit rubbery but it was probably just an off day. We had a side of Mexican rice. That was super yummy too. The rice was soft and had great flavor. The restaurant is on State Street but not with all the restaurants down by the shopping blocks, less crowds but still a lot of patrons. They have plenty of tables to sit inside or outside and a nice selection of different flavored horchatas. We had to get the strawberry flavor and of course a bottled coco-cola. Order the chips and guacamole if you like your guacamole chunky. Would definitely eat here again.

I had the asada street tacos which were amazing-- I came back for seconds the next day. The horchata was also the best I've ever tasted-- I went back the next day for that too. I think food came out pretty fast. I highly recommend.

    Lengua Street Tacos. Delicious!!

I'd definitely come back here. Located right on State Street that has now become closed to car traffic, the seating is right on the side walk so if people is your jam, you'll have a prime seat for viewing. Parking: Paid lot in the back with rates that are more reasonable and plenty of time to enjoy your meal and browse the nearby shops in Downtown Santa Barbara. A lot of restaurants are located nearby, so the parking is very convenient. Food: 3 Lengua tacos were my choice for that night and they were very good. Juicy, flavorful and filling and doused with hot sauce and a squeeze of lime and cilantro, delicious!!! Didn't even care about the raw onions (not a fan) You have your choice of fillings, so get what you like but you really can't go wrong with any meat choices. Nothing fancy, but very filling and the meat cooked perfectly. Ask for hot sauce. Chips and guac are freshly made and the pricing is better than any place in LA (trust me). Summary: Sadly, I no longer have reason to visit Santa Barbara anymore as family have moved away from the area. However, if you happen to be in the area on your way to Solvang, stop by for a bite. There are a number of taco shops in Santa Barbara that you can go to seeing as the area is part of the Spanish exploration era, but come here if you're in the area. Chips and guac must be shared because the portion is not small. Happy eating!!

We were at one of the local surf shops/stores and one of the guys said this place was best for good, simple Mexican food. This came up because my wife had shared we were going to grab some Mexican food. This place is a simple, good, clean, and tasty Taqueria. The folks working were friendly and helped figure out salsas etc. Great place... Tengo Hambre

There was a line when we got there on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30pm and that took about 20 minutes before we could order. Bahn mi had a tang I didn't love and the grilled fish was fine but not as flavorful as the crispy shrimp and carne asada. My family loved the Gangnam style, crispy shrimp, carne asada and grilled shrimp best. Hard to recommend certain tacos bc everyone has different ideas about what they like but I couldn't get over the crispy shrimp crunch with tender juicy interior. Back to table service! Yay!!!…read more Attractive and very clean restaurant with great service. Truly delicious Mexican food. I love pozole - Cc's rendition is top notch and comes with all the extras to put in the soup including avocado, chopped onion, a whole fried tortilla to break up into the broth and Mexican oregano (the small is more than enough for one hungry person or to share with two).Homemade chips come with a four salsa selection ranging substantially hot to a delicate tomatillo green. I tried my tablemate's tacos, all three varieties were very very good. I've had takeout from here, but it's really worth going in person because the food is nuanced and best when piping hot as it's made.

This is a Michelin-recognized spot in 2021 and I came in with pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, the seasonal fish ceviche was a major letdown. The albacore tasted overly fishy and had a stringy texture. The combination of watermelon, cucumber, and avocado was creative and refreshing, but the fish itself was disappointing. We ended up picking around it and eventually threw away all of the albacore because we didn't feel comfortable eating it. Thankfully, the tacos were a completely different story. We ordered the skirt steak taco and the octopus taco, and both were fantastic. Great flavor, well-balanced, and easily the highlight of the meal. The other downside was the service. The guy taking the order was dismissive and turned away when we told him about the quality of their fish in their ceviche. Between the disappointing ceviche and lackluster service, it was the tacos that were the saving grace.

Los Agaves On De Lavina St. -- A Rare Review from Someone Who Hates Writing Reviews…read moreI spent 25 years owning a business. I know what good service looks like, and I know what entitled looks like. I never write reviews -- I watched Yelp destroy good people over bad nights, and I swore I'd stay out of it. Tonight changed that. I sat at the bar. It took the bartender over five minutes to acknowledge I existed. Another five to ten to deliver a Coke. I ordered dinner and waited forty minutes -- which I might have forgiven, except getting his attention was nearly impossible the entire night. No eye contact. Body language that made clear I was an inconvenience, not a guest. Every interaction felt like I was interrupting something more important. When I finally got him to check on my order, he went to the computer and discovered he'd never placed it. I walked out. I noticed the people around me weren't faring much better. The slowness wasn't just my experience -- it was the room. Los Agaves appears to be a popular place, and maybe on another night with another bartender it earns that reputation. But entitlement has a way of spreading when nobody checks it. I hope management is paying attention -- because a beautiful restaurant dies one invisible guest at a time.

If you're looking for a spot this summer with all the vibes, killer margaritas, and delicious food,…read morelook no further than Santo Mezcal in Santa Barbara. My bestie (and yelp elite) Imo brought me here for a girls day after raving about it for months, and now I completely understand the hype. We grabbed seats at the bar (which is honestly the place to be, especially since this spot gets busy on the weekends). Hint hint: make a reservation or get here early. But overall the bar was the perfect place to people watch and to catch up. When it comes to service, impeccable. Despite being busy everyone was attentive and the drinks/food were well placed despite it being a full house. And can we talk about the bartenders? They were so welcoming and even let us film while they worked their magic making cocktails. Watching them crank out cocktails with so much flair was half the entertainment and they couldn't have been nicer. Service was definitely a 10/10. We enjoyed a few margaritas but my favorite was definitely the Hibiscus Margarita. It wasn't overly sweet and was just refreshing. I also had the tamarind Marg which was good too. Extensive cocktail menu and mezcal if you like it. The food absolutely lived up to the drinks. Santo Mezcal takes classic Mexican flavors and gives them a slightly elevated twist while still keeping everything comforting and approachable. My friend couldn't stop talking about her Pork Belly Tacos and I fell in love with the Shrimp Enchiladas. They were loaded with fresh shrimp and covered in the most incredible creamy chipotle sauce (same as their sister restaurant Los agaves for reference). Definitely one of my favorite enchiladas around, 10/10 also. One thing I wasn't expecting is that their chips and salsa might be some of the best I've had. The tortilla chips were fresh, warm, perfectly salted, and paired with a salsa so good I probably ate two bowls before our food even arrived. Honestly, you could sit at the bar with a basket of chips, salsa, and margaritas for hours and be completely happy. Make sure you don't pass up on the chips and salsa. As noted, this is a more elevated Mexican restaurant so prices are slightly more $$$ but you get what you pay for. Just worth noting because if you equate good Mexican food being $2 tacos and a bucket of beer, this spot won't do it for you. But if you want something for more of a special occasion where the food, vibes and service are A+ then this spot is for you.
