Had a terrible craving for tacos at 1 a.m. and was excited to see that Taqueria Taxco is open 24 hours. My friend and I decided to go through the drive thru since the parking lot was packed. I was super excited, thinking these tacos were going to hit the spot. I ordered the taco plate, which comes with three tacos (your choice of protein), rice, and beans. The wait wasn't too bad. What was disappointing was the fact that they only give you one salsa per order, anything extra costs more. One salsa for three tacos? WHAT?! Anyway, whatever! I ordered one trompo and two beef fajita tacos. The beef fajita was decent, but the trompo had a weird scent and taste to it. I ended up throwing it away. What a disappointment!!! I just lo love this place, tacos al pastor are really good even that they don't put enough ( cebolla and cilantro) today I got a parrillada, it's was good enough for two people, but the tortillas omg. My first time visiting this restaurant was today 7/7/2026 and service was ok until they brought my fajitas out burnt/ overcooked. The meat was crunchy! The Asst.. Manager didn't speak or understand english well enough for me to explain to him the meat was overcooked so he touched it and nodded his head yes. Meanwhile my rice and beans got cold waiting on them to cook more food. The second round of fajitas was chewy. I couldn't chew the meat I was spitting it out. They don't really speak English, so try your best to keep your wants and needs to a minimum if you don't speak Spanish. Their trompos and carnitas tacos are delicious. Everything is made piping hot, so the wait to get them is absolutely worth it. They all look like they hate their job but the food they make is made with love and that's all that matters. read more

Came here when going to UTA looking for lunch tacos and picked up the Trompo Special (so good! and love the cucumber and pineapple for the tacos). Also the chicken enchiladas with green salsa are very good. The restaurant is very clean, cute, and has nice outdoor and bar seating :) This time I got the Mojarra Frita Combo and he got a single beef fajita gordita. Definitely recommend both items, the rice and the fries were very good and I enjoyed the avocado green salsa they brought to the table. The jamaica was also refreshing and not too sweet. Will for sure be coming back to try more seafood options, like the shrimp quesadilla I was debating on getting. Not only do they have bottled beer but mexican bottled cokes and fantas (along with other drinks). Open 24hrs is so convenient too! EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. RUN !!!!! Been coming here since they opened. But lately their price are CRAZY. Have they lost their mind. 18 bucks that was 10 bucks. That a 80% price increase. I wish I could even attach a picture of my food however after being in the drive thru for more than an hour we decided these tacos are not worth the wait. In the time we were in like they lost at least 10 cars while in line. Not sure if the owner doesn't care but y'all are losing so much business with how bad y'all's drive thru is. You really absolutely must get the Tacos de Trompo. You must! It's just warm corn tortillas filled with the best pork you'll ever have. The pork is seasoned with paprika, spit-roasted to juicy perfection, and shaved directly off the spit (the "trompo"). It looks cool, sounds amazing, and tastes even better. The pork has a vibrant red color from the spices and so much flavor -- it's my favorite taco filling. I'm addition to the crowd-favorite, Trompo, Taqueria Taxco has all your classic Mexican and Tex-Mex faves. Truly they have it all... from chimichangas to tortas, a whole fried fish to fajitas (parrillada), a burger and fries to traditional menudo. There's like 5 soups on the menu! They also have huaraches and sopes, my favorite. Both have a delicious, soft, masa (corn) base and are topped with beans, your choice of meat, tomato, lettuce, and sour cream. Huaraches are larger and flatter than sopes, but they taste mostly the same to me..? I love them equally and endlessly. Really fantastic service here. The menu can be a little overwhelming but I'm willing to bet it's all worth ordering. I look forward to making my way through the menu. read more

The chorizo tacos were flavorful and had a bit of spice. The Al pastor taco was good but it wasn't my favorite and it lacked flavor IMO. I liked the sope was good and fairly large but the fajita meat lacked flavor as well. Overall, it might just be an off day so I will be back! read more

A little bit of everything at Taqueria Taxco, food is made fresh and everything I tried was flavorful and well prepared. Service is fast, there is parking outside the building, a convenient drive thru, and in/ outdoor seating. Although it's located just outside UTA campus I didn't see any students and this looks to be a local favorite stop. English and Spanish is spoken at the register. Although guacamole is on the menu it's not available everyday and it's availability depends. There is no soda fountain so drinks consist of traditional Hispanic punches or can/ bottled beverages. Very nice satisfying meal with no frills. Although I do think this is a 4-5 star stop (for what it is) be advised they give free churros for 5 star ratings which could influence people to over inflate their experience. I already ordered and paid for the 5 churros you see pictured here and stand by stopping in for a visit. read more

Excited to try this place because it's close to home and open 24 hours. We did an online pickup order to the Trumpo special of 25 tacos for our family. The biggest con for us online ordering is it will only let you choose 1 flavor of salsa to go and if you want to have a second flavor you have to order it separately for $4.99. We didn't want extra salsa, I just like green and my hubs likes red best. (We chose green and he ended up not liking it at all.) The pickup was super smooth and easy and everything was packed perfectly so no leaks. Another con is they give you very little cilantro in the onion/cilantro mix The Trumpo meat was a little fattier then other places we get ours from, but the tortillas are some of the best I've ever had. The Trompo Tacos here are the best!! I LOVE to come on Taco Tuesday when they are only $1 and I can get a few of them and get nice and full! It's a pretty simple operation, no frills, but what I come here for is what they do great - the tacos. I've dined in a few times and usually will get carry out from inside if possible, because the drive thru can get a bit slow, especially on nights when there's several cars in line. I don't blame them though, because it's a relatively small operation and the tacos always come out great. Taqueria Taxco has become my main go-to place for Taco Tuesday specials in the area, as I love to get the Trompo Tacos then. The meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned, I love the toppings and the different salsa options, especially the one that is pretty spicy! Its spiciness is no joke. I love a good challenge, as I've always loved spicy foods! Sometimes I will simply douse tacos and other food in sauces that are supposedly "hot" or "fire", and don't even notice it that much. Not here, though! I have to watch how much I put on, because I definitely do feel it here! All in all, Taqueria Taxco delivers on what it should be delivering on - great tacos. And especially if you come on Tuesday, they're a great value for what you get!! I'll definitely be back again, and I recommend others visit them as well! read more

They had a lot of burger selections so I assumed they would be good. It was a disaster. I asked for a hamburger with no cheese, lettuce, onions, and mustard. When it arrived, it was a cheeseburger with mayo, onion, and .green tomato. I sent it back. They told me they don't have mustard, only mayo. Decent food, nothing that spectacular but one star for me for the tiny portions they give you. My burrito was so dinky, barely any meat in my tacos and the tamales was meh. Also it's super expensive here. They are charging trendy restaurant prices for a taco shop. $14 bucks for a burrito? Yeah I don't think so. I grew up in San Diego which was filled with amazing taco shops and never pricey like this.
