Small local Tex-Mex restaurant right next to the Shell gas station. They share the same parking lot. They are opened only certain hours so make sure you check because they close at 5 PM. You walk in and you seat yourself, but the place is very traditional with Mexican music and nice decor. The pricing is fair between $11-$15 a plate but you can get tacos for three dollars and quesadillas for three dollars as well. Service was quick when we sat down, our waitress came within two minutes. however, I did take about 10 minutes before the chips and salsa were brought out, but you get free chips and salsa and of course we asked for the green sauce! Chips are homemade, which is always a plus and damn the green sauce is creamy, spicy and flavorful! Win! The red sauce is super flavorful and bright- my son said it's the best he's had. I ordered the Chile Riano and he ordered a hamburger... I don't know why he just felt like a hamburger today lol. but whatever, they have it on the menu! both dishes were fantastic, I'm giving this place five stars! The potatoes were a bit al dente and needed To be cooked a bit longer bc I couldn't not cut the chunks with a fork but overall fantastic flavor. My dad had the potatoe and egg with beans and flour tortillas. Which he said he like a lot And would come back! We both agreed the flour torts need to be cooked a bit longer bc some seemed a lil raw dough like. Mom had the bacon and egg tacos on flour torts. Her tortillas were cooked well. She asked me to taste a piece of bacon from her breakfast taco because she thought it tasted off. The piece of bacon actually tasted frost bitten/ old. I once had bacon egg tacos to go From here but did not have old bacon so I don't know what happened that day. This Tepatitlan restaurant is connected to a gas station! Very interesting for sure! Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff. Other places offer chips and salsa, but they did not. I thought the ambiance was very authentic to Mexican culture. Let's get to the good part, the food! The tacos were amazing! We had to celebrate national taco day with delicious tacos. They for sure did not disappoint. The salvadorian plate was delicious as well as the other dish. I recommend people stopping by to get food to go. The reason why I do not give this place five stars is due to the customer service. There was only one waitress, and she had 6 or 7 tables. She was not able to effectively manage all the tables, as well as food. It would be helpful if she had help. Overall, the experience was great. I was very skeptical about eating at a "Gas Station"... my friend reassured me that it was just a restaurant connected to a Gas Station. I love Menudo and I was extremely nervous to try it. He asked if I could get a sample of it because he knows I hate asking to try the food. I personally would rather just eat something I know they can't fuck up on. LOL! He had the Papas con Chorizo y Tocino. The beans served with his dish looked like a smooth creamy Lima bean blend. However he says they were about an 8/10 and the overall dish was the same. 8/10 I had the Menudo & Barbacoa taco. My menudo was full of rich and zesty flavor. It was as if a party was popping off in my mouth. I thoroughly enjoyed the bowl that I was taking my sweet time and savoring each and every bite. It was such a delicious bowl. I've tasted the menudo from about every local place here in Rosenberg and this place Was A Complete 10 out of 10! It was the best menudo here in Rosenberg. The barbacoa taco was great. It wasn't my favorite. I enjoy greasy and slimy barbacoa. This barbacoa wasn't what I was hoping for. If you enjoy barbacoa that's not extremely greasy and slimy then you will enjoy this barbacoa. I would rate it a 9/10. However... lastly the homemade tortillas here are 10 out of 10. They're thin and extremely delicious. I do enjoy a thick tortillas but there was something about these thin ones that just hit the spot. My stomach was extremely happy. Definitely recommend trying this place. It is the best! The only downfall was the waitress we had. The didn't bother to refill my drink once so I am not sure if fountain drinks have free refills. But even my friend had to ask for a coffee refill. Wow! What a gem! And so close to where we live! Can't believe we've never been here. Located at the corner of Hwy 59 and 2218, next to a Shell station this place is the bomb! Especially for breakfast! With a winning interior and friendly and attentive staff you can't help but feel you're out of town in a really good hole in the wall place with great food! Priced perfectly with generous portions what I really liked were the portion sizes, the fresh tortillas and homemade salsa! I had the La Mexicana breakfast which comes with tortillas and potatoes and refined beans! With the homemade salsa it is a quite satisfying experience! The food comes out fast and fresh and the waitress we had, Mirabella was so nice and friendly! On a perfect spring day it was such a great experience I couldn't help but give this place 5 stars! It's rare to find such winning customer service that you feel right off the bat! That made all the difference in the world to me and the food was really great in top of that! We live just mins away from this restaurant and over the years have eaten there many times. We stopped going once they changed management/owners due to raised prices and smaller portion sizes. This morning we decided to give a try again and portions were a tad better BUT quality was not there. I ordered pancakes with bacon, and also had a potato and egg taco. The pancakes were good however the taco was DRENCHED with butter inside AND out. There was so much butter it was leaking out of the foil wrapper! I threw the taco away. My girls tacos were better but still too much butter. The bacon that came with my pancakes, was deep fried and severely over cooked. It was so hard you couldn't eat it and had lil burnt pieces(from what I assume is, bacon from previous cooks) in it. They have always did bacon this way and frankly, it ruins it. Making bacon in the oven is always best if you ask me! For what I paid for this food verses the quality AND high prices , yall blew it once again. read more

This spot is my go to spot for breakfast. The prices are great. I order 2 tacos ahead of time on my way to work. I get there in ten minutes and their is never a wait. The tacos are served in a small to go container in foil. Hot sauce is great and tacos are filling. Bacon is crunchy in the taco which is rare. There are many spots that cook the bacon with the eggs and it looses the crunchiness. Not this spot! I recommend this place. This was my 2nd time trying this restaurant out and I have to say this will most likely be my last time. I had a good experience the 1st time. I went today around 2 pm and the restaurant was not even busy (maybe 2-3 small groups if that). It took almost 10 mins to get a menu and a drink order for my table after having to make eye contact with the front counter. I honesty should have just left at that point. Once I ordered my tea, I ordered some queso shortly after and my meal. The queso was very runny and not that impressive. Once my food came out, I had to ask twice for silverware (once from my waitress & secondly from another waitress who brought my food). The chimichanga was less than impressive. I politely asked for a tea refill and silverware (keep in mind I had to ask more than once and I got an eye roll it seemed as well) and after that hardly got any service or even a simple check up on me after I got my food. My waitress walked by me more than 3-4 times and didn't even make eye contact, she was lucky I felt somewhat gracious to leave a small tip. I waited over 20 mins to be noticed to get my check to pay. I had to once again stare at the counter area to get some attention to ask for my check. I was more than patient waiting for my check. I immediately went to the counter to pay for my bill. The waitress and/or manager asked, "How was everything?" I told her I was honestly not impressed with service, I had gotten only one tea refill and waited over 20 mins for my check. All she said was "Sorry" and looked back down at the register as she swiped my card. They should've at least offered to discount part of even all of my check for the awful service, instead I wasted my money and time. What should've been a 45 min visit ended up being close to 1.5 hours long. Multiple couples and groups left before I was acknowledged. Absolutely unacceptable! Customer service and a honest heart felt apology should be a top priority if you want repeat service back at any restaurant. read more
