Unfortunately, this wasn't a great experience. When we arrived, several hosts were standing at the front talking while my partner and I waited to be acknowledged. After we were finally greeted and seated, our server seemed like they were having a rough day and came across as uninterested, which made the experience less welcoming. The service was extremely slow. We ordered an appetizer and waited about 45 minutes without any updates. We eventually asked another employee if we could just pay for our drinks and leave. That's when we were informed that the kitchen had never received our appetizer order. It was finally brought out nearly an hour after we had ordered it. When our food arrived, it was only lukewarm, which was disappointing after such a long wait. This location used to provide consistently great service, so it was unfortunate to have this experience. This was my first time trying out one of the Vida Mariscos locations. The building itself is very large, capable of handling bigger group sizes and smaller groups as well. Where everything fell a bit short was with the live music they had this night -- perhaps it is part of their concept, but I found the music to be incredibly loud to the point of affecting the dining experience. It made it difficult to hear each other speak across our table and made service for our waitress difficult as she couldn't hear our orders well. The food itself was serviceable, I think that for its price point you can find better at other locations much closer to Houston. Of course, this is quite out of the way for me but even if I lived closer i'm not sure I would find myself returning here. read more

This place is huge. We thought there'd be a long line when we visited here on Mother's Day weekend. The parking lot was packed but there was no wait. Took my mom here for Mother's Day and it was the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. And when the food finally came, the runner put one of our plates on the wrong table and the other customers touched it. Also, one of our plates was cold. We opted to just take both off the receipt because we couldn't wait any longer to have them remade. Half the family ate and the only compensation offered was a free dessert and manager didn't even come apologize herself. Service was good, this place was packed and loud. We came as a group of 3 girls and just wanted to get some small bites, drinks and catch up. We had to move to the patio so we could hear each other. The drinks were really good! The food was not bad, we got the pulp which I really enjoyed, chips and queso which was fine, a quesadilla and some empanadas. One friend liked her quesadillas and the other didn't like her empanadas. We also got the corn dish that was under appetizers and it was so so good! There was a fight that broke out while we were eating, police had to be called. Think the guys were drunk so I'm not sure if this is a regular thing or not. Hosted a birthday party. There. Waitress brought us three orders, which we did not order and still charged us afterwards on our bill.

I will start by saying we go to the restaurant often since is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I book a party of 15 for a celebration and the server that was taking care of our table provided one of the worst services. She was rude, talking back to us, and not providing what we were requesting. They were basic things like no ice on the kids waters, forgot to bring my mother's drink, my sister ask for a glass without ice and she talk back with attitude saying, "well, this is all I have". My sister was the educated one replying: "that is fine, but can you please bring me a glass without water?". She never did by the one. Issues kept happening. After an unpleasant visit due to the service we were receiving, the manager came to see how we were doing and I mention my experience that day compared to any other time there. He apologized and offer to remove the tip from my balance, for us to choose her tip. I declined the offer and requested to him to keep the tip on the receipt since it was not about the money but the service we were receiving. To top it off my sister in law found a "hair" in her food towards the end of her meal which we told the server after she picked up my her plate. She got upset, put the plate back on the table and told us to deal with the manager. The manager came again, we explained the hair and again, he offered to remove the plate from our bill. We refused the offer since she almost finished her food before finding the hair. At the end when the server came and gave the bill to my husband she made it a point to tell him that her tip was not included which my husband was surprised since we requested the tip to stay in the bill. My husband still tip her 20% for her bad service. We will not be going back which is sad since that was one of my regular restaurants.
