It is a very small restaurant no more than 6-8 tables. We walked in and we were not greeted/welcomed for what seemed to be 5 mins. There were three employees and nobody looked up. There's a sign that says everything is made fresh so please be patient. I came here because it said enchiladas Michoacan style. (Michoacan is state in Mexico) I got the enchilada plate with cecina (literal translation is corned beef) to me it's a think beef jerky that is fried also I asked for chicken. The top sauce is mix of tomato, jalapeño, vinegar, salt and oregano. They come with cabbage, radish and thinly sliced potatoes that are fried. The chicken was not fresh and was cold. I found this restaurant on Instagram a couple years ago and was very interested in the Michoacan style enchiladas as enchiladas in general are my favorite Mexican dish. I saved it to my "food" folder of places to try one day, well that day came yesterday. The restaurant was easy to find, very clean and the cashier explained the different side options that accompany their signature dish of enchiladas. They have a very nice and clean back lot where outside dining is offered and we opted to eat there as I much prefer dining al fresco when possible. The food was served quickly and came with several fresh made salsas as well as other condiments brought. In all honesty I was a bit disappointed with the enchiladas. The sauce was thin and barley coated the tortillas, but the chicken and papas were good with the light tomato salsa. It was nice and quiet outside as we were the only ones eating out there. However the reason for my poor rating is due to 1) lack of table service: nobody came to wait on us, offer refills, check if everything was okay. This is not a counter service type restaurant so that was disappointing. 2) unprofessional staff: the whole time we were eating the cook outside was speaking to someone who had dropped by through the back gate entrance. Both were sharing stories and every sentence had "guey" in it and a few cuss words. We could hear all of it. Never did it occur to them that this was inappropriate to do in front of customers who were trying to enjoy a meal. It became embarrassing for me in front of my husband who I could tell was pretending not to notice that it was my suggestion to give this place a try. The word "guey" is not a "bad" or cuss word, but it is generally used in way that is considered to be inappropriate language. You would think they'd know that doing this at a business establishment in front of customers was not a good idea. It is unfortunate that this happened. I don't think we will be back. I don't want to go somewhere to spend money to eat to be treated this way. My husband was still generous to leave a tip though it was undeserved. read more

It's good food, not great! Well at least what we ate today, the hard shell carnitas tacos and the enchiladas. There's a older lady I think she's a cook and brought our plates and in that small food she started yelling my number, I called her over, she yelled again, I yelled my number, she yelled the number again while looking at me, she walk over and I was standing and while we were 2 feet apart she yelled again "NUMBER SUCH AND SUCH!!?" The cashier went and chatted up with her friend /relative and sat there for a while which is okay to take a break but then she kept taking orders, handling money and plates and again no hand sanitization. Saw them on a reel and went this Sunday to try their enchiladas Michoacáns. We drove from the San Fernando Valley to South Gate and the drive was worth it. My hubby had the enchiladas with cesina and I had the shredded beef tacos with potatoes. OMG! The food was delicious and we will definitely be back with friends. The place is a hole in the wall and they do have a sign that says they're not a fast food restaurant and the food is made fresh to order so your patient is appreciate it. Food took its time to come out and that did not bother us as master pieces do take time. The cooks and service staff are hustling to make sure things keep running. It is a small business but don't let that fool you. This food is delicious! And the staff was so nice and welcoming. I brought a friend that is here for work from Japan and she loved it!!!!! This place is our go to spot when we have a hankering for Michiocan tierra caliente food. The staff is supper friendly and accommodating. Its a small place but that is ok. Pretty relaxing family ambiance type of spot. I recommend la morisqueta and the enchiladas. Remember they have no cheese in the middle (that is enchiladas suizas). If there was a kids menu I would have gave 5 stars, but there isn't. Other than that food was great. I have family from Michoacan and they were ok with the food but I think it was great. Customer service wasn't the best I've seen but they did take care of you when asked. The inside is small and can get a bit loud but you can always eat outside. We will be returning no doubt! Came here this morning. Ordered a burrito only to find a piece of plastic in it I kept on chewing thinking maybe it was a rough piece of meat.
