    Enchilada plate with cecina
    G B.

It is a very small restaurant no more than 6-8 tables. We walked in and we were not greeted/welcomed for what seemed to be 5 mins. There were three employees and nobody looked up. There's a sign that says everything is made fresh so please be patient. I came here because it said enchiladas Michoacan style. (Michoacan is state in Mexico) I got the enchilada plate with cecina (literal translation is corned beef) to me it's a think beef jerky that is fried also I asked for chicken. The top sauce is mix of tomato, jalapeño, vinegar, salt and oregano. They come with cabbage, radish and thinly sliced potatoes that are fried. The chicken was not fresh and was cold. Enchiladas were dry and flavorless. I had to ask for more sauce and still nothing. Would I recommend? Not if you not local. My search for the Michoacan enchiladas continues

Tamal de Elote con Crema Y Queso so bomb!

Seen on TikTok and had to try! Bestie & I both had 1 Taco Dorado de Birria de Res Y 1 Taco Dorado de Asada. We also shared a Tamale De Elote con Crema Y Queso. So good! Both Meats were tasty, but the Birria de Res took the win! Definitely will be back!

It's good food, not great! Well at least what we ate today, the hard shell carnitas tacos and the enchiladas. There's a older lady I think she's a cook and brought our plates and in that small food she started yelling my number, I called her over, she yelled again, I yelled my number, she yelled the number again while looking at me, she walk over and I was standing and while we were 2 feet apart she yelled again "NUMBER SUCH AND SUCH!!?" So I yelled YEA, NUMBER SUCH AND SUCH! THANK YOU!! I graved the plates from her hands. The truth is I don't care about service only the food unless I'm ignored by the servers or just rudeness over all. BUYERS BE WARE: Don't go on the weekends!!! The two plates we got took 45 minutes!!! I understand you are not a fast food restaurant but your food line is incompetent! At the end of the meal we figure it was the right time to get something to go, I made sure with the cashier on how long it would take, I order food that it is usually already prepped, she said 10minites, so I ordered... it took 35minutes! Nothing was being prepared until one of the guys cleaning the tables came by and I asked him to check on my food... he went to the back and he prepared my food (10mnts). In side the restaurant... it's so small of an area that the creams of the crying yelling devil babies is extra loud! I have plate that I love in this place but I will call in for pick up during the week. The enchiladas are not as good as the hype in TikTok. Not at all!

Got enchiladas michoacanas w/cecina, not good at all! Cecina was hard, mentioned to one of the workers. She seem to get bothered. Plus the enchiladas had onion & bit of cheese. Service was very poor.. food was not good! Will never go back again TikTok hyped this place up but not good at all..

Im all about supporting small businesses specially in my community so we decided to give this place a try. First time here, and last. Should've gone by the previous review. Walked in and the cashier didn't even greet us, she just stared so I said hello and proceeded to order, they dont have a kids menu, not good. Ordered a plain quesadilla for the kid, morisqueta, orden de tacos dorados, menudo and uchepos preparados. Let me tell you now, save your money and appetite. Uchepos were dry even with the sour cream on top just nasty. Morisqueta full order was just okay, Ive had better. Menudo was bland, no flavor whatsoever, tacos dorados were the worst, meat had no flavor either. The same girl was the cashier, server and everything else but she never sanitized her hands and kept bringing us the wrong orders. We asked for a plain glass of water and they didn't have any. Not even bottled water to purchase. The cashier went and chatted up with her friend /relative and sat there for a while which is okay to take a break but then she kept taking orders, handling money and plates and again no hand sanitization. No wonder they have a B and whats worst they prepare the food out in the open, saw a stack of meat on a table as we walked out, once I saw that I felt disgusted. Stay away and save yourself a stomachache.

GREAT SERVICE AND DELICIOUS FOOD You are welcomed into a clean and welcoming environment. We ordered three menudos, one quesadilla, two sodas, and one decaf coffee. I also wanted to try the agua de horchata because it is so hard to find a good agua de horchata these days, made from scratch so flavorful and refreshing! As an addition we got another menudo to go, we ordered a birria to go. I was not disappointed with the order to go, everything was separated and I was able to reach home safely. There is a new gem in South Gate!

The food was very good well worth the wait. The service was excellent. There's no waiter service you just go up to the counter and place your order. Only thing that bothered me was the tv on and loud. The place is small I wouldn't quite say it's cozy.

Enchiladas Michoacánas with Cecina and potatoes
    Sandy E.

Saw them on a reel and went this Sunday to try their enchiladas Michoacáns. We drove from the San Fernando Valley to South Gate and the drive was worth it. My hubby had the enchiladas with cesina and I had the shredded beef tacos with potatoes. OMG! The food was delicious and we will definitely be back with friends. The place is a hole in the wall and they do have a sign that says they're not a fast food restaurant and the food is made fresh to order so your patient is appreciate it. Food took its time to come out and that did not bother us as master pieces do take time. The cooks and service staff are hustling to make sure things keep running. If you don't mind d driving for some good home taste food or you are in the vicinity, stop by and support.

It is a small business but don't let that fool you. This food is delicious! And the staff was so nice and welcoming. I brought a friend that is here for work from Japan and she loved it!!!!! You have to try it!!! The salsas are amazing, I wish I could have taken a picture of the chili oil because it was so delicious. I will definitely come back and bring my family. Please remember to tip, I left a tip in their jar and it was somewhat empty.

While visiting family in South Gate we were craving some authentic Mexican food. We visited this place they had great service and the ambiance was great. The food is amazingly good and authentic Mexican. The enchiladas dang, they are really good and portions are very generous. The cornuda with sour cream and salsa were amazing .

Demanding as Mother's Day, when most places are overwhelmed, they still managed to deliver an experience that felt intentional and heartfelt. Despite the long wait, it was clear that the demand far exceeded expectations, yet the service never lost its warmth. At one point, she even offered me an agua fresca as a gesture of kindness while I waited. I respectfully declined, understanding that a day like Mother's Day comes with heavy volume and pressure, and that delays are simply part of supporting a small business doing its best under strain. What stood out most was the owner's presence. She carried herself like a mother to everyone there serving each customer as if they were family. She stepped away from her own personal time to make sure other families were fed and cared for. That kind of sacrifice and commitment is not just business; it's cultural preservation in motion. TACOZ brings authentic heritage flavors to the city in a way that feels irreplaceable. The tamales, carnitas, and overall food experience were deeply rooted in tradition and full of flavor that reflects generations of culture. People should understand that moments like this are not about convenience they are about supporting something real. On busy days especially, patience is part of respecting the work being done. Instead of criticism, there should be appreciation for what it takes to keep a small, culture-driven business alive and thriving. In the end, TACOZ delivered more than food. It delivered a connection to heritage, family, and community. That kind of experience is something worth valuing and protecting. Keep Going gurl ! I'll be back and so many of your audience ! One person doesn't bring down a team ! Both meats were good, but a little under-seasoned for my personal taste. I also tried the Jamaica agua fresca. It was refreshing, but I'd personally give it about a 2 out of 5. On the other hand, the salsa macha was really good and added a lot of flavor to the meal. The place is a bit small for dining in, especially when it gets busy, but the customer service was great. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout the visit. I'd definitely come back again because I noticed several other menu items I'd like to try next time.

Of the many options I just went with a brew and a quesadilla I decided on getting a pastor one and it was super yummy very flavorful and a very good size it came with some rice and beans as well both of them were delicious as well making for a yummy little combo plate. But the real kicker here is that avocado salsa that was soo good and just added some delicious zest to a already really yummy quesadilla but the other sauces were good too especially the red one it seemed more like a chili oil than a hot sauce but either way it was quite yummy! Overall this was a good time and some much needed yummy food! Hopefully I make it back here again at some point for something scrumptious as well as a good time!
