Apparently there's been a rebranding: what was "El Diablo Mexican Restaurant" is now "El Diablo…read moreTaco Bar". Okay; they still have a full-fledged Mexican-restaurant menu, and maybe added "taco bar" stuff to it. All I know is that we went there last night and both really enjoyed it. And having a bar with 6 different salsas (?) to try made it a lot more fun! According to our waiter, they sometimes have a lunch buffet on Sundays. Sounds delicious! Original review (El Diablo Mexican Restaurant): If you're in the mood for something different, this is a good option. The menu is filled with choices you wouldn't find at a typical Mexican restaurant. (FYI I LOVE the food at a typical Mexican restaurant, especially Tex-Mex.) I liked my entree, but would probably not get it again. My wife's Vali's Fries were better. The folks working here (owners?) were super friendly, and I would like to see this place succeed.

It didn't taste like the consomé or the meat were cooked in the dried chilis, or other spices you would typically put in birria, there was no color to it. The tacos did have a nice portion of meat so no complaints there. The flavor was just severely lacking to be called birria. My husband said the shrimp fajitas were good. We both liked the rice and beans. The service was fine our server was attentive. The restaurant was clean.

We came in and they weren't busy. You go to the front and order off the menu. You get a number and they bring the food to your table. We ordered a whole chicken with a couple of sides. Came with tortillas and some really good sauces. Also tried the sweet potato empanada. Everything looked great and generous when it came to the table. When we started to make our tacos, we found the chicken to be kind of dry. It had good flavor, but the white meat was definitely dry. I really liked the flavor of the chicken. The beans were different. They were very loose with a little cheese on top. They tasted good and with the homemade tortilla and chicken was OK. I liked all the salsas, they were definitely homemade. The Green was my favorite. The empanada crust was crispy and tasty. The inside was a beef make sure with some pieces of sweet potato. Not what I expected but I enjoyed it. This place is really cute. Right when you come in, you feel like you're in Mexico. bright, colorful tiles, and Spanish decor They have self serve water. I like this feature because I am a water drinker. The receptacles were very cool looking. Really cold water too. We had a couple of beers which were nice and cold. The owners were very nice and gave us extra cheese and sour cream when I asked for it. I definitely will come back and give this another try.

A very impressive Mexican spot…read more The interior is impeccable. Beautiful polished wood tables with comfortable upholstered chairs. The wait staff are all dressed in uniforms and the attention to detail is impressive. Everyone is wiping, vacuuming. Pride in craft is obvious. There are about 15 tables inside and about a half dozen outside. 12 at the bar. There's an extensive menu with all the Mexican standards. Surprisingly, chips and salsa are sold as an appetizer. At first I was thinking wow, don't we usually get chips and salsa for free? Reality is all those chips before the meal mean that I can't finish the entree. So... It's actually good not to have free unlimited chips. Chicken quesadilla is on-point. Tender chunks of chicken smothered in melted cheese on a toasted tortilla. Unusual twist, there's shredded cabbage also. Very tasty. Supremo burrito is excellent. Chunks of chicken, rice, beans, cheese. Guac and pico on the side. Could have used more pico but still very very good. Disappointed in the drinks. The house margarita was poorly mixed. So strong it was like sipping straight tequila. On balance, I appreciate a generous pour but... if I wanted shots, that's what I would have ordered. Despite that minor nit, this was a fabulous Mexican meal.
