The salsa wasn't thick, but it had more of a tomato paste taste instead of that fresh tomato flavor I was expecting. The restaurant/bar was quiet and not busy. We were seated immediately and the server took our drink and food order quickly. It didn't take but 10 minutes to bring our food to the table. We ordered 10 variety of tacos. Chicken, steak, pork, and tripe. It was definitely one of the best tacos we had, and their complementary chips, salsa and side sauces were also great! I expressed this to the cashier with hopes he could point me to the menu item or figure out how to make a simple adjustment. No such luck. He was flustered with my simple request. He had to go talk to the cook (possibly the manager/owner) on multiple trips to ask questions. She stayed away from the counter and would not address me directly, which would have been helpful and would have been good customer service. The arbitrary price quoted for a chicken breast and a shredded lettuce, tomato salad, $20.00, More expensive than anything I could find on the hand written menu. No exceptions. Except when all was said and done, I was charged $20.79. We would have left except my husbands diabetic limitations had been reached, he needed to eat. So we stayed. The ambiance was what we expected for a reasonably priced Mexican restaurant: families gathering for a Saturday lunch, working men coming in during their lunch break , reasonably clean, great flavor.
