This review is for the Barefoot Landing store in North Myrtle Beach, where we stopped yesterday morning on our way back home. The store is bright and spacious, AND filled with swim wear separates which allow a curvier woman to fit herself top to bottom. There are three large fitting rooms for trying on suits. There was a wide selection, even with a great 30%, 50% or 70% off sale. Stephanie was very helpful and definitely made me rethink not trying on the suits. I'm very glad I did. They fit well, but there is a great chance I could have needed different sizes. The cherry on top was being offered a mimosa by the owner's husband to cap off our shopping spree. I loved the fit of the suits I got, both underwire/bra tops, plus a foldover brief and ring-accented brief to go with each. Rae in the NMB store was awesome in helping me find my perfect swimsuit, again. This is my 10th year wearing Tara swimwear. They are more expensive. I love these suits! I've been a loyal customer for over 17 years and have at least 12! if you hand wash and hang dry they last forever! My two oldest ones are just now fading but after 17 years I expect that!! They also custom make them if you have a need for something special. Call Sandy Peters store manager in Florida she is the bomb!! Her customer service is excellent! Yes they are expensive compared to Amazon but you are worth it and you will thank me later!! Listen to them on bottom sizes! I was always buying a 10 and I got an 8 and they fit perfectly and do not ride up at all!! The patterns make you look amazing! I purchased 3 bathing on February 9, 2025 I worn 1 of them 2times. The second time was May 6,2025 as I was rinsing the lime green suit it fade out. The suit was only 3 month old!!! The other 2 suit I also wore 2 times are perfectly fine. I brought the fade one back. They refused to give me a credit for another one. Kristi the director of sales told me it was my fault for wearing it in a pool. There swimwear is "only chlorine resistant". They don't guarantee it won't fade. I explained I also worn the other 2 in a pool and they were fine. She then told me it was my fault because I didn't google about bright colors fading in pool. She also told me I should have asked the resort I was staying at how much and when they put chlorine in the pool. I do understand that over time swimwear will fade but not after only wearing 2 times. They advertise how it is quality material. The purpose of swimwear is to wear in the water. They should use material for the intended purpose. Kristi was very rude and condescending on the phone. I told her I would be giving her company a bad review. Her response was " I will pray for you" and she hung up on me. I hope she see this review and prays for me as she promised. read more

I can't speak to the value and quality of the swimsuits, as I haven't had a chance to wear yet. My disappointment lies in the customer service and dishonesty. I bought 2 tankini tops and one bottom that goes specifically with the emerald green top. The bottom was a great fit! However, upon getting home, I tried on the emerald top again just to move around in it and see how it held up with some motion. In the past, I have had other tops slide down with a little activity. In this case, I was not completely filling in the cup area and after a few minutes, I noticed the cup started to collapse and I had at least a quarter's size flatten disc at both breasts. It was very noticeable and I couldn't be comfortable wearing it, so I had to take back the top and bottom. Check out the Tara Grinna website on Tankinis and one of the prominent things you see if 28 day return policy on tankinis. Their "return" policy means: you get store credit! Nothing else there I want to buy. Was told there was a "sign" to let me know that. I did not see the "sign" (slip of paper taped to the counter). The store clerk should have been forthcoming about that. All the tags were on and it was within 48 hours. What is the difference if I tried the suit on in their dressing room or at home. When you try things on in their dressing room, whatever you don't want goes back on the racks, so please explain the non refundable policy. I sent two messages to their customer service website to see if this was really how they operate or if the store clerk just didn't want to lose her commission. No reply. I gave them opportunity to make it right before I wrote a public review. I certainly wouldn't want my name associate with such tactics and lack of concern for customers. Knowing their prices are way above the big box store down the road, I still tried to support "local" business. Usually store owners in the lowcountry of SC have a charming, honest integrity. I am so disappointed. Won't even enjoy wearing the top that I kept. read more

Terrible quality. I bought an emerald green Tankini and matching coverup. All three pieces faded terribly and were literally two-toned and unwearable. I bought these about a year ago, and I live in the North and do not go swimming that often. I cannot even wear them this season. I sent these pieces back to Tara Grinna for their inspection and they chose not to stand behind their product. 300.00+ dollars and I can't even wear these! This is one of my favorite stores for swim wear and resort pieces. I am petite size at 4'10" and with a 34 DD size also. They are always easily able to find pants, dresses, bath suits or any accessories I need. The swim wear is sold as separates which is the only way I find a nice fit. I can call and be helped over the phone without even making a trip in. Wonderful people and wonderful things that are sold in their stores. read more

I absolutely LOVE Tara Grinna Swimwear! Quality exceeds any other swimsuit I ever owned! Sales women are excellent, Erin was fantastic! She treated me like a queen, I didn't have to leave the dressing room at all. Definitely a pleasure, a perk and a must when trying to find the perfect swimsuits! I am so disappointed in these swim suits. They look very cute and the colors and designs are great but the tops are not made for women with natural boobs who need a little more help with the lift. The elastic isn't strong enough to provide support. I bought four swim suits and all four had strings hanging off them, seams coming undone after the first few uses. These were too expensive to be falling apart so quickly. Disappointing. I will not be buying from them again. read more

A PIECE OF GARBAGE FOR $98! I bought this beach bag in the Tara Grinna Charleston store in March. I used it for the FIRST TIME in July when I went to Rhodes,Greece. The results you can see for yourself! I paid $98 for this bag and I regret it! I didn't know anything about this brand but it was a pretty bag. That's all it was!!!! It Tore apart and straw started to rip away at the handles. The first use!! And I have a designer bag collection so I know quality! They wouldn't even stand behind their trash! I went in to the store to see if they would replace it (thinking maybe I got the one and only one that quality control missed) and the disrespect sent me through the roof! My husband tried to ask about the quality and the two girls working ignored him!!! One of whom was the person who talked me into buying the bag and swore by the quality!!!! I would not recommend ordering from Tara Grinna as the sizing is different then what is available in the store. I purchased the tankini bottom and the cover up long pants at the store in Charleston. I tried on the correct size swim top ( in a different color ) and was told that the top that matched my tankini, they were going to order for me ,would fit the same as the one I tried on in the store. I was told it would arrive in 5 to 7 business days. After 3 weeks passed and my suit had not arrived, I called to see when my swim top would arrive and was told they were out of the fabric. When the suit did arrive, one month after I was in the store, it was definitely not made the same as the one I had tried on in the store. After repeated phone calls, leaving messages at the store, which were not returned, they finally returned my calls on the 4th day. I was told to contact the manufacture who told me I needed to deal with the store. Many phone calls later two suits were finally sent to me, neither of which fit like the suits I tried on in the store. Now I have a n expensive $140.00 swim suit top that doesn't fit like the one I tried on in the store. It is very tight across the back and is not very flattering and is uncomfortable. I am a very trim person so it is not like I am overweight. Since they do not refund money on purchased suits I am not only out the $140.00 for the swim top but also the money for the other two items which do me no good without a swim top. read more

I adored this store when I first visited several years ago in Myrtle Beach. The designs are beautiful and accommodating for all sizes. Knowing I had an upcoming vacation, I decided to order from their online store and was extremely disappointed with the service I received. I ordered two suits in mid-May for a trip in July. After four weeks had passed, my account on the Tara Grinna website still said "Awaiting Fulfillment." I emailed twice via the address listed on their website to check on the status of my order before receiving a response. The woman with whom I communicated let me know that one suit was ready and another was back ordered. She was waiting for my entire order to be complete before shipping. She then said that the missing piece would be finished soon and my order would ship the following week. That week, I checked my order status and it still said "Awaiting Fulfillment." At this point, no shipment was going to reach me before my vacation. The woman then said she would ship my order to my hotel so it would be there when I arrived. Then she told me it would instead be shipped to a nearby store for me to pick it up. This didn't happen, and the office was closed for a holiday weekend. Three days later, my order still hadn't left the factory. In the meantime, I bought bathing suits at a brick and mortar store instead. When I called again to cancel my order, the woman I spoke with told me that she would note my cancellation but couldn't tell me how long it might take to receive a refund. She also wouldn't tell me the extension of the accounting department so I could speak with them directly. She made constant excuses for herself, saying this wasn't her typical job, she wasn't in customer service, etc. But if you represent your company you need to do everything possible to present a professional front to your customers. I found the accounting department myself and had to argue to get an immediate refund. I was very displeased that I had to reach out to the company myself every time I wanted to understand what was holding up my order. At no point did anyone contact me to let me know an item was back ordered or would take longer than expected to ship. Had my expectations been managed proactively, I wouldn't have been so upset with the delay. How long would my order have spent in limbo if I didn't reach out numerous times myself to get simple information? I appreciate that this brand is experiencing growing pains and is struggling to meet demand. However in these instances it is is extremely important to communicate with your customers and let them know that items are back ordered, shipments are delayed, etc. Every aspect of my interaction with Tara Grinna was unprofessional and sloppy. read more

I was in SC for a spring break and after looking at all possible stores in DC, I thought of trying a local boutique. I am so pleased I did. The store is spacious with a great variety for a curvier women. There is such a great selection that it becomes difficult to decide what not to buy! Nicole and Candy were very helpful. They helped me choose what looked the best on me rather than trying to sell stuff off. I ended up buying a bikini, a tankini, one piece, cover up and a hat. Yes, couldn't stop shopping. The prices are comparable to any stores that I checked out - Nordstrom, Bloomingdales etc but the stuff is far better and you get great attention as a customer. Highly recommend the store. read more

Placed an order June 18, 2016. As of July 14, 2016 - my order was still "Awaiting Fulfillment" according to the Tara Grinna Swimwear Website. Tried to call the company several times to check on my order - no answer. Emailed them - the email was bounced back as undeliverable. I've now called my credit card company to dispute the charge. I am writing a letter to Tara Grinna Swimwear to cancel my order since I cannot reach them via phone or email. My suggestion - don't purchase from this company online. Perhaps their physical store in South Carolina is a better choice if you want to see, try on and purchase their merchandise. Save yourself time - don't order from them online. read more
