All 3 times I either dealt with Gus or Trent, who are very good at their jobs. The first one (2016) was cheap at $400 because we had no money. Cheap in the sense that these were way overpriced mattresses for what you're getting to begin with. Within a month It started sinking in like we were bouncing bowling balls off of it every day. It looked like it had potholes. We had to tolerate sleeping on that crap for 2 years until we could afford a new one. So two years later we had saved about 1k which I know still isn't much, but we paid $400 for a prison cot there already, apparently. We spent $800 on a $950 mattress. It was amazing at first. And then just like the last one, it began sinking in in various spots on the bed, this time within 3 months. Wtf? What happened to mattresses lasting at least a decade? We can't even get through a year! I'd be happy with 5 years at this point! We don't have kids that play around on the beds, I weigh 120 lbs and my husband weighs 170. What is the problem now? So instead of admitting we waisted our money AGAIN, we spend the next 4 years switching out bed frames thinking thats the reason things kept screwing up. 3 bed frames, several foam pads, giving up and putting the mattress on the floor, and 4 years later, we need another mattress AGAIN because we're friggin broken in our 30s because our bed was so uncomfortable. This time we looked around first, for months. The timing was bad being shortly after covid so it was difficult to find a mattress store that didn't close down. We attempted to order a mattress online twice, but it was too expensive and we didn't even know if we'd like it. The only other mattress store that was open with displays was in Grand Rapids and they don't deliver to Battle Creek. So here we were, once again in 2022 stuck with having to buy a mattress at this store. I get now why they're still here, because they're it! No wonder the quality doesn't have to be great. But we were convinced we just needed to invest more money into a decent mattress. This time we threw down $1400 on a $1495 Sealy Posturpedic. I was so excited. That mattress was a Godsend, for almost a year. And then the same friggin thing started happening. It was slower to start, but once it started, the mattress was crap just a couple of months after that. It sunk on both sides leaving a huge bar down the middle causing no area on the mattress to be comfortable at all. Now its 2026 and most nights we sleep on our 10 year old couches so we don't wake up feeling 80 years old. I am so over it! So I called Sealy to let them know that their mattresses are crap. I've never done that before, but I was heated. Thats way too much money to have them die in less than a year. They told me, after laughing at what we paid for it at a "discount store" , that those mattresses didn't meet full quality control, so they didn't go to the big box stores for that reason. They went to discount stores AND they're supposed to disclose this. He told me they wouldn't even have honored my warranty in the beginning because of where we bought it. They are final sale mattresses because they're essentially crap but still legal to sell at a discount. Nice. So there you have it, folks. No matter how much you spend at this store, you will be buying junk and you will spend more trying to fix it than its worth. Save your money and order direct if you live in BC or you will just get taken advantage of because you have no other options. We almost have enough for a new mattress again and I will be ording direct from Sealy this time with a ten year warranty. The way it should have been. You guys, Trent, should be ashamed of yourselves for ripping people off the way you do. I will make sure as many as many people as I can in this community know it too.

An older man, presumably his manager, took over and tried to up-sell us. I was accompanied by my husband and son but I had done the research and knew what they had in stock. I told the older man that he would not be able to up-sell us because we had $600 to spend and no more. He continued and said he wasn't trying to sell us by showing us more expensive mattresses, he was trying to "educate us". I told him we had already made a decision. He then started throwing zingers at myself and my husband about "who controlled the money" and who was "the boss" and who held the "purse strings". My husband walked away and requested our first salesman to check other nearby stores for the mattress we wanted. He located one and we made arrangements for delivery but the older man never stopped making sexist comments such as "$600 and not a penny more", even while we were paying for the mattress. If you do decide to go to that store, be prepared for an older, sexist, "gentleman of color" to let you know he doesn't appreciate being "shut down by a woman". The mattress is lovely but we will never go back to that store.

My small furniture item that was custom ordered (a small corner cabinet), and way-overpriced, took months longer then it should have to arrive. After waiting for 2 months for the call it was ready to pick up, and hearing nothing, I reached out to the store and was told that the item was still sitting at another location and that it was damaged. I would never have heard or known about this status, without me checking on it. Then there was zero contact for another month and half. I called several times asking for a manager so I could get more details - and NEVER heard back from her. I did get a call from the sales girl that said it hadn't arrived yet. There were no apologies for the inconvenience, or effort made to make it right. Finally, I tried reaching out again a few weeks later, this time in person! I showed up and the assistant manager Bob was there and was great; but all he offered was to have this small cabinet delivered to my house (could easily fit in my vehicle, so this was not very beneficial to me.) But I accepted, and he was a pleasant, nice man who was making an effort to help in the bad situation. Unfortunately, on the day they decide to deliver the following week, I am at work and they give me a 2-3 hour timeframe for delivery. It was conflicting with my work arrangements, but I tried to keep those hours clear. Sadly, they came after the timeframe and I was not able to be there to inspect the item. They offered to leave it outside. I called Bob to see if i could just pick it up from the store, and he said no, they already had arranged it for delivery. I would have preferred to receive a discoun/refund on my item instead of this massive headache and additional stress I received. My son ended up going to the house to be there to let them in. All in all, I paid too much for this item to begin with, and then horrible customer service from the beginning, from most of the staff. I would have expected better from a high end furniture store. I won't be shopping here again and suggest you don't either.

Although the prices here are a little higher than a big box furniture store, it is totally worth it. The customization options, the quality, the customer service - it all makes it worth it in the end. 100% this is the best furniture store in the City.
