I have the worst experience at this target's self check out. It is so ridiculous how they rush you workers are being on their phones not really paying attention until the person is gone. Here's a tip try waiting for the customer to be done with their transaction before you send people to the next checkout line I have never had somebody right behind me on my a** because you call them decks and my receipt didn't even print out yet. I didn't even get to bag my items but there they are rushing people to someone's self check out. Location is just the worst! This is why I won't come back to this location. read more

This is my go-to Target just because of proximity. But over the years, it really has declined. There are so many empty shelves that I always wonder how close this location is to closing. I never had an issue at this target. Cashiers always friendly, customer service, and return has been great and they always have what i need. However the reason for my review is due to what i witness at the parking lot with a target employee and what it seemed like a target lead. I finished shopping at this target when i saw was a lead yelling at a follow team member. I found out later the one yelling that her name is Jennifer. He was collecting carts with the machine which from the yelling from Jennifer stated it can only be used to collect up to 20 carts. The employee did not raise his voice. He was not being combative or yelling back at her however i do not know exactly the entire conversation before i witnessed it. The employee who was being yelled at let Jennifer know that he was advised by another employee that it was okay to collect more than 20 carts with the machine and that is why he did what he did. However Jennifer continued yelling. She did not seem to cared for his explanation. She carried on yelling at him saying then we'll take this up to HR and proceeded to yell. Regardless if Jennifer was correct about the carts, professionalize was not displayed at all. If it were inside target or even on the target parking lot she should of been professional. The employee could of been advised in a better way and i felt extremely uncomfortable for him and the behavior that was being displayed. Jennifer correcting him could of been done differently and not in front of target customers exiting the store. She could of helped him with the carts put the carts away and then spoke to him inside the employee conference room anywhere else except in front of all the customers. Jennifer displayed disrespect. Respect should always be displayed Especially in your place of work and with a fellow employee. Things could of just been handled a lot differently. read more

If I can give this store negative stars I would...Apparently the manager Chrisgen think he owns the store I walked into the store to buy Pokémon cards he stated they had them in stock but he would not be selling me any. Even after I explained I work and I cannot come in the am, I then called corporate because he did not let me finish speaking he walked away extremely rudely. Walked in with my son to use the bathroom and there were 2 toilets clogged with goodness know what inside. Toilet paper on the floor and other stuff. This target seems to often be low in stock and messy. Not sure if they are short employees, but the Playground (1 dollar-3 dollar-5 dollar cheap section) has stuff thrown everywhere. I tried to get some Chobani yogurt (1 dollar each regular price) and there were fresh ones for some flavors with expiration dates into May. Then for a flavor that I wanted to buy, all the ones were expired! They expired 4 days ago. My eyes were drawn to the clothing sections which were messy but I saw some cute shirts I wanted to try on. No one was at the fitting room section but luckily a door was open so I tried the clothes on. When I came out, a lady was there but she neither offered to take back my stuff or greet me. She then left the table again and proceeded to organize very slowly the mess. There always seems to be a long line there as well. 2 registers open and the self-checkout has 4 stations. There is always a line of 2-3 parties ahead. Meh. I knew what I wanted to get at Target and found them. Luckily they were on sale. read more

When I placed my online order, I opted to bring my own bags. The Target app said that if I did so, the Target customer service employee would help me bag my groceries. I showed up yesterday 8/19/24 at approx 12:50pm to pick up my order. One of the employees (there were 2 ladies assisting with my order), just started placing each item indiviually in my trunk. I mentioned that the app said I would have assistance bagging the items in the bags I brought. She said that they don't do that. They're too busy and if I wanted to have my items bagged, I would need to go inside the store and pick up my order there. They were clearly not too busy, as it would take the exact amount of time to put the items in a bag vs placing them individually in my trunk. The one employee just watched the other. Clearly this is a lack of customer service training or she was just too lazy. I'm well aware of what it takes to work this department, as I used to be a cashier and customer service rep for Target. Employees now just don't want to work or do their actual job. This left me extremely disappointed. Do better Target employees, do better. read more

This store only good if you're coming to get something quick, then leave: don't bother with customer service for help or exchange something (I tried to exchange something back after the wire broke, but ended up paying more since their "sales" ended). I understand it's holiday time and there's a lot of merchandise to be put out for the holidays. I don't know if someone isn't paying attention to their go-backs section or some kid is running around messing up all the racks? Came in to buy some apparel and all the tables were a mess. I mean I could find the sizes easily at all. All the merchandise was mixed up and thrown together like someone had just dumped it all on the table and walked away. When I did manage to sort through the mess and found the item I liked there was no tag on it. Same goes for the shoes section. I came here looking for puppy food, I have a fractured ankle and asked for an electric cart walking in I asked where are they located the workers there stated they didn't have any and the one they had was not working. They went on to say they couldn't help and sent me on my way. They should have at least offered to bring me the item I was looking for since it was all the way in the back of the store. Worst customer service ever. I always choose drive up because I have a newborn baby and I always have to wait more than 30 minutes. Today was the worst experience ever .I waited in my vehicle for 45 minutes to get one pair of shoes. The worst part was when I got off my car to ask about my order the manager Christian was very rude and unprofessional. No one who cannot handle a chaotic situation should be put in a manager position. If target knows there are busy they should put more employees to take care of the situation employees were honestly taking their time and not caring if people were not finding a parking spaces labeled for drive up which are only 8. I prefer shopping at Target over any other retailer but this one bad transaction really soured the whole ex. I returned an item and it never showed up on my credit card statement. I called multiple times between guest services and the store. I even spoke to Asset Protection and they denied that I returned the item when I know 100% for sure I in fact did. It was only for about $88. I spent over 3 hours on the phone and it is still not resolved. I didn't keep the return receipt (if it even printed out since the return never went through). I should have double checked the return instead of trusting the system. I just thought I could rely on Target since they never let me down before until now. I called corporate several times and even after over a month they said the investigation was pending. It's been over 2 months and I hadn't heard anything since. What a terrible experience. There used to be a time when this Target location and the Cerritos Promenade was the site of the former Federal Employees' Distributing Company, aka Fedco. If you're old enough to remember that, it was a membership department store chain that operated in Southern California from 1948 to 1999. It was the precursor to Wal-Mart, Kmart, Costco, and yours truly Target. It was started by a group of US Post Office employees who got sick of paying retail prices and decided to purchase goods directly from wholesalers, thus leveraging their buying power. One could purchase general merchandise, grocery, electronics, auto services, and furniture with a lifetime membership of $10. At the height of its popularity, Fedco had ten department stores, three appliance only stores, and served 4 million members. It went bankrupt in 1999. Once Target took over this area, it became the biggest Target location in Cerritos, aside from the one on Bloomfield Ave. It's pretty much got everything you can imagine. I would shop here more, but it's so out of my way. Unless, I'm near the Los Cerritos Center, I save more time and money shopping at the Wal-Mart at the Cerritos Towne Center. The Target Corporation is the second largest discount retailer in the US, behind Wal-mart. Kinda feels the same these days anyway. Both seem money hungry for world domination, with Target having less of a global influence. Regardless, of its issues, Target is still living large and this venue is no exception. Even, with the big credit card data breach in 2013, there seems to be no stopping them. For this location - huge sales floor, plenty of parking, a good selection of merchandise, and now even groceries. I know they sell a ton of things, especially gift cards. The customer service here is alright, some usual mix ups, but nothing major. I know some of you favor Tar-zhay over the competitors, so in my book, they're A-OK. read more

when it comes to customer service this Target is by far the worst when it comes to customer service im not a huge review person but I encountered nasty attitude and service by not one but two employees the first one I approached had on her work shirt, badge, walkie talkie while on the sales floor then goes to be on her phone to her ear as if she is on the clock (as working customer service years ago if your on the sales floor while doing anything in her situation she was shopping for cheese you take off you work equipment and cover your uniform) she doesn't acknowledge me so I then proceed to the next person on the floor who happens to be doing a pick up order I asked him he then does his best to assist me with him unable to find it he asks the employee that is shopping on her break in uniform to assist him she turns around say im on break with an attitude, its simple to multi task and assist especially while looking like your on the clock while on the sales floor , the gentleman then goes to ask a lady who is stocking on the floor she has the same walkie talkie equipment as him she tells him to call another employee with an attitude to assist on my purchase of ice , i never seen this lack of customer service and value at Target is like nobody wants to work anymore in this economy read more

Biggest target ever! It's a new location so everything is brand new, the selection is awesome, and clearance stuff is easy to find. Target is the shit, Wal-Mart is meh. I dont mind paying 20 cents more an item to have people willing to help you who are educated on the items they are selling. Its especially useful in the electronics and pharmacy. Once known as Target Greatland, now simply Target, this place has it all! From music to milk, this place can certainly be considered a one stop shop for all of your consumer needs. I especially like the layout, it has wide open spaces and plenty of cash registers. I also like the parking, there is plenty of it! I like using the many entrances from South Street or even Gridley to get to this Target, there is hardly any congestion of cars. Always a fan of Target. Fair prices, wide aisles, kids are pretty well controlled and the general customer base act like civilized beings. The team members are easily identifiable and if you do need additional help, there are convenience phones at some of the aisle end caps. Occasionally they do have flaws where the sale signs are not taken down so keep a keen eye on the price you were charged vs what you thought it was supposed to be. Review of Asian gentleman working the electronics counter from 10-10:20 pm 6/19/2016 and female Asian manager for the evening Came in looking to purchase XBOX cards (50 dollars worth for only $45 dollars) I've purchased this before at other Targets and this very same location as well. I searched the electronics section on my own and was not able to locate it. So we approached the electronics counter. There was a female cleaning out the register and an asian gentleman. We asked the gentleman about the cards and he said, "we've never sold that in this store." We advised that we have purchased it here before. So he tried to look it up in the system. I even showed him a picture of exactly what we were looking for. He said, "nope we don't sell it." We went on our way and walked around the rest of the store. Guess what we found in the seasonal section? The set of cards that we were looking for. We went back to inform the guy (well educate) that the store actually does sell it in the event another customer was to ask but he wasn't there anymore. So we decided to bring it up to the manager as a great opportunity to educate the staff on the availibity of items in the store. When we approached the front desk and asked to speak to the manager an Asian woman approached and we tried to address the situation. Her response -our computer system is not always up to date -we sell cards all over the store We advised, that giving wrong information Is bad customer service and could lead to loss of sales. The target itself is nice & has a great selection. My issue with this location is the parking lot. It's a pain to get into and even more of a pain to get out of. Not to mention South Street gets backed up so plan on spending a lot of time just waiting for an opening before you can even attempt to turn onto or off of the street. Okay, maybe I'm just a really tough old bird/cookie, but customer service here is terrible! The cashier was having trouble with my purchase (she forgot to ring up those redeemable Target gift card, which I had handed to her). SO she needed to void the purchase. I did not ask her at all sweetly, but suggested that she re-do the whole thing or get a manager to help her. Tania (the manager's name tag) was walking around tossing a toy ball in her hand and was oblivious to the cashier 's predicament. It took several tries but the original ring-up was supposedly voided and coupons/gift cards applied to the purchase. There ought to be a better way to work out simple issues, I would think. I really love Target in general. This Target is located really close by the mall with plenty of parking. This location in particularly is pretty big with plenty of fun things to browse through. Just as your typical Target, you have the dollar spot by the main front entrance. But just to mention there is a portrait studio also by the main entrance in case you are looking for low budget family photos. This Target location is worth making a stop in case you need to stock up on some essentials. Oh and by the way, if you don't already have the Red Card (you can get a debit or credit card version) you can get an additional 5% on all purchases. read more

I'm only giving this one 3 stars because I'm comparing it to the Target on Seal Beach Blvd. This one's nice, but not as nice as that one. This seems to be the target that I visit the most. Prices are better than most grocery stores. Especially if you use the Target card for 5% off. Plus, if you use the cartwheel app you'll save even more. The app can be a pain, but it will save you considerable money. Always be careful buying milk or eggs here. Quite a few times I've found products for sale past their sell by date. The meats have been pretty close to being past their date as well. My biggest dislike of this location is the fact that the lines at checkout can get ridiculous. They have 20 registers but only have employees at about 3. Then when the lines get long they bring in extra, and then those extra checkers go back to something else when the lines get smaller. It's a vicious cycle. They do have some self checkouts but only 4. I wish they had more like Walmart. The photographer area can be a real pain as well. Unless you're the first appointment of the day, plan on being there a while. They overbook and sometimes bring other appointments from other locations and stick them in front of you. The employees here have all been really nice. I don't think I've ever been upset with an employee here.
