This TJ Maxx is the larger of two stores in Long Beach and carries a broad selection of everything from clothing to home decor and everything in between. I particularly appreciate the travel section (to the front right next to handbags) because I've found overstock Samsonite luggage - which ended up going home with my dad for an upcoming trip - for far less than what the Samsonite store would charge for it. The handbag section is nothing to sneeze at though because I've seen genuine Ted Baker purses for about $30 less than what neighboring Nordstrom Rack offers. In terms of layout, this location also has beauty and skincare in the middle right, shoes in the right rear, gourmet kitchen/home decor middle rear, pet supplies left rear, and kids/apparel in the middle. Thanks to the size of the space, the aisles here are nice and wide and easier to navigate despite the big crowds that come through the LB Exchange. It's not necessarily the most organized store, but makes up for it with the good selection available, Speaking of LBX - be mindful that parking can get tight during peak hours like weekends and after work, but that also means there's lots of good food options (ice cream, anyone?) and you can take care of your other errands in one go. read more

I like going to TJ maxx if I'm near one. I happened be at another store and decide to check out the bags, jewelry and sweaters. I went during lunch time it was busy and spent while there. Trying on clothes. Also check out the jewelry area and got a silver necklace and ring. What really got me I talking to jewelry lady can't remember her name. She was helpful letting me know I can exchange a dress I got from Marshall's as long I had the receipt .!!! yay for me luckily had it in my car.. I had the most incredible service from Abelia, who works in the jewelry department at TJ Maxx... She was very helpful and professional and helped me pick out a couple of sterling silver items that I want it. The store is always clean and the staff seems to enjoy their job. Manager or supervisor walking around (short hispanic lady) came up to me and my boyfriend 3 times. Not in a friendly way, but more of a "I'm watching you" way. So ridiculous and uncomfortable. I was very frustrated with her, we put our stuff back and left (I'm 100% sure she thought we were gonna steal what we had, and we only put our merchandise back because she thought she scared us off) when in reality I'm not giving my money to a company who lacks decent customer service, and harasses/follows their customers throughout the store. What I had in my hand was very cute and I wanted it, but I don't want it bad enough to the point where I'm gonna let an employee act that way with me. Tj maxx train your staff better. read more

Service! The Female Hispanic Manager makes me not not want to shop there! She is so rude and does not apply the rules when necessary, I waited at the counter for her to make a tag for a item that was already priced just for her to return with a mark up I said that is incorrect and she instantly said it came up on the tag priced wrong, do you want it or not? I said you saw the 1tag and she said I did but it was marked wrong so I'm not changing the price. Rude loud and bad customer service, even my cashier apologized to me. SMH she needs to chill because this is our Shopn area and we like friendly customer service at out Shopn center. Keep in mind it was only a $3 difference as she walked away still yapping away, so rude. Constantly stating it's not her fault it was tagged incorrectly. My last TJ Maxx run was at Torrance and I loved it! They had some great clearance stuff, so when I found myself at this location, I just couldn't resist! Mom is in the market for rugs and floor runners and so she went straight to that area. I wasn't really here for anything, I was just curious what bargain buys I might score if I find anything interesting enough. And I did! A lot! From kitchen ware to snacks to the beauty department... I don't think I spent more than $10 for one item. Mom didn't find any rug she wanted but did score on a few things from their beauty department! Winning! Cashier was friendly! There were a couple of fragile stuff so she made sure she was careful about bagging them up. Love it! Definitely a fan of TJ Maxx now. Keeping them on radar for bargain buys! read more

This TJMaxx location is the biggest scam going. All the trending items are being bought up by friends of the employees that work here and the employees lie to regular customers asking about what items are currently in stock. I came here about a half hour after opening and was just browsing near the bedding and blankets when I saw a TJMaxx employee with only 2 hello kitty blankets in her hand. She was placing them on the blanket rack and I of course asked her if they were just being put out. She just stared at me with a deer in the headlights look of shock. She just nodded her head and said yes. Of course, I took the 2 blankets as I've NEVER been able to get a hello kitty blanket at this location. I asked her if they had any more in stock and she said no. Very happy with my 2 blankets, I continued to browse through the store. I noticed that other TJMaxx employees were looking at me oddly and watching me as I walked through the store as if they were thinking, "Who is this? Who is this person who got the hello kitty blankets?" Any employee I passed, was watching me...it was very weird and something I've never encountered at any other store. Suddenly a younger girl (20 something) was running through the store at full speed towards the blankets. She was on the phone with someone talking and she just about knocked me over. I looked to see where she was going and she ran directly to the blanket rack and picked up 2 more hello kitty blankets of a completely different pattern and color than the 2 I had just picked up not 10 minutes earlier. After she walked away from the blankets, I could see where there was another hello kitty blanket just sitting on the rack! That blanket was not there when I got my blankets and when I asked the employee if there were any more, she said no. Well, well, well.........THAT WAS A LIE!!!!!!!! It was completely obvious that the girl who was running through the store and just about mowed me down was on the phone with an employee of this store. People her age do not talk on the phone, nor run through stores at such speeds. They are texting 90% of the time or on face time. This was obviously an inside job. That girl who ran to get the hello kitty blankets got just that....only the hello kitty blankets she ran through the store to get to - did not even get anything else in the store. Had that TJMaxx employee actually been stoking blankets, don't you think she would have had more than just 2 blankets in hand? Usually employees have boxes or racks of multiple items they are putting out on the floor, not just a few items in hand. This was a total inside job! Any time I go to this TJMaxx, there are no good items here. I have even heard rumors online that the employees hide items throughout the store and hoard items in the back to keep for themselves. Who knows if this is true or not, but the last few times I've been here, there's been nothing but off branded items here that are extremely poor quality. Unacceptable customer service. I attempted to buy a bag today, but because the tag was missing, the cashier, Alberto, refused to help me in the moment. He actually asked me to leave my personal phone number so he could "call me later in the week" once he figured out the price. This is not how retail works. A price check takes two minutes, not several days. Asking for a customer's phone number just to provide a price is strange and lazy. I felt ignored and like my business wasn't valued. Let me start off by saying, I've enjoyed this location because it's so close to LBX Hangar, and the nice restaurants. Everything is pretty neat and organized, and for the most part all the staff is really nice. However, there's always that 1 bad apple in the bunch. Unfortunately, I was harassed to get out of the bathroom even though the store closed 30 minutes later. I was already in the stall using the restroom. Yes, the janitor was rude, and her name is Susie. All she kept saying was, "Respect the time! Respect the time! No, sorry!", even after I apologized. She kept saying the same phrase over and over until I washed my hands and left. Elizabeth was the coordinator that night, and assured me she will be talking to the manager, and educating her on customer service. Will I be coming back to follow up? The selection at jewelry counter was very good. Unfortunately, the service was not. There were two people ahead of us. We waited for a very long time with only one sales person at counter. She asked two other sales associates for help but they declined. The reason why I left was the customer ahead of us had to do a fashion show with multiple pieces. After recently starting a new job, I switched from another well known off-price retail chain and started shopping at Marshalls. I was looking for some professional office attire. I found beautiful brand-name clothing and footwear, at lower prices than traditional retail stores. Marshalls' carries high end and affordable brands with the selections constantly changing as they restock regularly. Being a senior citizen I was a bit disappointed that Marshalls doesn't have a nationwide senior discount program. Unlike other staff members and manager what I don't appreciate Is being followed around in the store everywhere I go by the male store manger being a girl that is concerning and weird. I've been coming here for a while and I always buy something and they see me make purchases so you can't tell me you follow me because you might think I'm stealing. Another thing as a store manger I would recommend you don't scold your staff in front of customers simply because they are talking to someone. I spent 10 minutes waiting while the cashier assisted a Customer that was ahead of me at the Jewelry counter, she (cashier) greets me after the 10 minutes and said she would be right with me. After she checked out the Customer ahead of me she walks away from the jewelry counter and proceeds to the Customer Service counter, returning a few minutes later talking on the radio about her favorite 49'rs Customer. Whatever she took to the Customer Service Counter really could have waited until I was properly and professionally serviced. My first and last time visiting this location. The good: This is the go-to store for discounted clothes, luggage and home goods. I got a soft bristled men's comb here for $3. I don't know why it's marketed toward men but it was a dupe of the Wet Brush. I also got retro-looking women's Reebok sneakers for $35. I saw similar ones on ASOS for twice the price. This place is located in a plaza with a lot of great and new shopping stores and restaurants. The bad: There's often a line to get in on weekends (post-COVID). This isn't a TJ Maxx/Home Goods combination store so there are fewer pillow options here. The interesting: Their Halloween décor selection is massive and affordable. I'm always shocked by how many pumpkin and cat items they have. You can find at least 5 different kind of Halloween-related kitchen towels. For folks who have separate pillows, plates, curtains, rugs, and jars for each holiday, this is your store. read more

I purchased a top for my daughter in May. She only wore it twice and the neckline seams are open and the material is not holding up, it's unraveling due to poor sewing. I called the store and told the associate the situation about the merchandise and that I didn't have the receipt since I just threw it away last week. I didn't ask for a credit, I asked for another identical top and the person flat out said, "without the tags, we can't help you." If my daughter wore it twice there would be no tags on the top. I've been a TJMaxx customer for decades and have spent at least $350.00 or so every month. Well not anymore. . . . . . Integrity goes a long way. This location needs to work on it. I called and was told a product was not available. My experience on the phone told me the customer representatives were not being truthful. So I came in. I observed that it was a busy time. Safe to assume the person that answered the phone may have been preoccupied and felt bothered by my request. I walked straight to the section of the product I needed and found it immediately. I love TJ Maxx and have always enjoyed my experience on my visits. Sadly, my perception of this location is that when it's busy don't presume you will be told the truth when making phone calls. I get it. It was busy. But my experience came across dismissive. Just want to let you know. Someone else might make a bigger scene than me. Parking is in a newly opened commercial strip that has a little bit of everything. I have yet to have a problem with finding parking. Service: installed in and was immidielty greeted the store is nice and neat very clean and everyone is so friendly. Located along the same strip as the Nordstrom Rack so this location is very convenient. For some reason I think this location is also bigger than any other Maxx around the area. Perhaps this place is still relatively new and employees are not burnt out yet, but things are actually organized and clean here. Not a lot of crowd. Plenty of parking spaces. Plenty of sale items. Plenty of places to go to before or after shopping as this location is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, hotels and a newly opened brewery. Too bad, Orchard will be closing soon. read more
