This Target is reasonably clean and most of the workers I've encountered have nice attitudes. I was denied hot water at Starbuck's and told that it's a safety issue, however, when I came back another time, I saw a barista give a Caucasian white person hot water. This Target had no lock on the stalls in the men's restroom for over three weeks. When i suggested that maybe they could use a lock from the floor, the worker I spoke with had an attitude. Now the men's restroom has no holder for the seat protectors. Who knows how long this will go on for. read more

This is the worst Target I have ever been to and I've been to many in quite a few areas. The store is always a mess, the customer service is always awful, and the restroom is like a nightmare. The many times I have been to this location I always find full shelves, organized store and a friendly smile. The reason for the 4 stars are the lines. I love Target and it's usually my stop for majority of my merchandise until today. I wanted an item for my house and saw that it was on sale at another store. Due to that location being a distance from my house I came to this location and specifically asked if they could price match the item. The associate working in the furniture department guaranteed they could do and I waited and waited for it to be delivered to the front for them to tell me once I got to checkout that they can't do it. Horrible customer experience. They genuinely don't care and I will not be shopping here any further. read more

This is the 3rd time I try to use the drive-up or pickup option with this Target I have a new baby and sometimes getting out of the car is not an option or I don't want to spend to much tome in the atore. Every time I have used it is for baby formula and/or baby products every time they cancel my order apparently at all times they one keep one single can in stock of baby formula and they take my money every time online to later cancel my dam order and take 5 days to give me a refund. The worst target I've ever been to- nothing was stocked. It seemed like if they were going out of business that's how badly the shelves looked. I went to buy my LO bottles and some were open- missing bottles from a set and the ones I did find they didn't have the nipples stocked in place. I came across a young girl mid 20s with pink/ blonde botched ombré, light skin, and skinny in size.I came up to self checkout and received ugly stares but I didn't think much of it. She comes to my register and watches me input my card pin which I found extremely uncomfortable since we are in a middle of a pandemic. She asked to check our bags for 0 reason whatsoever and found nothing. I am diagnosed with severe social anxiety and that moment was triggering since she tried to accuse me in front of a group of people staring. I don't normally review department stores, but I felt like grabbing the FTR on this one. This Target location just opened in the new Gateway shopping area which includes Home Depot, 24-Hour, Best Buy, etc. Everything is new and clean (for now). The store is a bit smaller than the one that opened a while back in Carson. There was only two checkout lines open with lines in both. I was about to bail when they suddenly opened two more. Pluses: Easy access from the freeway, clean/new store, other ish around. Cons: I wouldn't want to get hit in this area, I'm sure most of the cars don't have auto insurance. (which by the way is a fact told to me by an old roommate that used to work for Allstate, so I ain't stereotyping). read more

I went to check a gift card balance at the guest service counter & there were 3 employees organizing items that needed to be taken back. I stood there for a few seconds before Johnny stopped to help me. He looked irritated, like I was interrupting his work flow. I asked if he could check the balance on my gift card & he took the card & gave it back to me with the receipt. He didn't say thank you, is there anything else I can help you with...NOTHING! He turned around and walked away. Now, thee ONLY reason I'm writing about it is because this is the second time Johnny has helped me & he had the same rude attitude! Customer service is clearly not his strongest suit! But, as my husband & I proceeded to the checkout stand, Diane was very helpful & cheerful! She even suggested a few different items I should try the next time I go shopping there! And I will try them :) I was so pleased with her customer service & it was nice to leave on a happy note! SLOW THE *QUACK* DOWN IN THE PARKING LOT. You're going to drive over a decrepit pigeon, and that's just shady. Slow down, and be as patient as you can be. Your blood pressure will thank you in the long run. This is "Compton." Too scared to come during the day or night even with a cop car on display, or a sometimes there security guard inside? Then, head somewhere booshie where you'll be greeted like a Disneyland guest. Here at "Compton Target" we have a diverse socioeconomic class, multicultural, racial, ethnic clientele. And WOW there are lots of clearance items from bedding, stationery, random things that you shouldn't buy yet still do because someday someone will ask for it, oh wine and beer. Fully stocked and pretty damn good produce section. *Returning items runs swiftly. Customers who are unsatisfied with makeup can return it with original receipt. There are no foundation testers, so research beforehand. Take the risk. Purchase rather than inconsiderately opening a package and testing it in the store. Opened packages are unsanitary, and that's just shady for the individual that finds that last item in stock opened, so be courteous. PLEASE. Research on return and store policies for particular items BEFORE purchase. *The pharmacy is the best I've ever waited on. The pharmacist and techs are nice. If it's busy I like that they acknowledge the waiting customer, and try their best to swiftly yet politely assist their current customer. *Checkouts generally run really smooth. Randomly there are only 2 checkout stands open. Freakin' TWO, but when Target sees a cluster *quack* they are usually on it quickly. *Clean restrooms (I like those powerful hand drying jets) I peeped in the men's restroom and it appeared clean. Can't remember if there are changing stations for the tatter tots. The best time to come is during the morning, lunch-hour, or late at night near closing time when there's fewer encounters with strange peeps (like neglectful parents, unruly children jumping in front blocking path, or taping your pompi with a cart, or random peeps with a fugly starring problem). Coming during other hours is hectic, mainly because of the above mentioned characters. The staff is generally friendly and helpful (some associates may be new to working in general, so be nice. They may not know the answer to your needs, nor do some know proper protocol to handle those situations. We all learn, peeps). Ooo! And there are a number of tall handsome Black, White, Hispanic/Latino men working here (I have yet to see an Asian/Pacific Islander man work here). Remember that associates are human, so if you ever get a curt response know that the behavior generally isn't permanent, and neither are them. This is a pretty damn good Target that I frequent. It's not 5 star worthy for peeps that like things precise. If you're looking to be treated like you're in Disneyland, then sorry go elsewhere. This Target won't meet those needs... ever. read more

I see that this Target hasn't been reviewed for a while, so I thought I'd do an "Update". The area is still good. The store has hit and miss days, but mostly hits. They keep it in good order and most of the staff is very helpful. The ones that aren't I don't see for very long. The aisles are wide and it is well-stocked. I shop here on about a bi-weekly basis, sometimes more often if I need to run and get something. I'm very glad it's part of my community. BTW, I like it much better than the new Target on Cherry and the 91. I would choose this Target over that one any day that goes double for the Target on Sterns and Bellflower, what a crappy store that one is. read more

The only time I visit this Target is when I go to the Home Depot located in same shopping center. It is by far one of my least favorite but they are better stocked than the Carson location. The lines are always long and move slower than molasses, the customer service is non existent and the store can get pretty junky at times. There is plenty of parking, unless your one of those that has to be close to the door as possible. read more

look...i love target. but...fuck this target and the city of compton. i own a big rig and often come to compton to make pick ups. on this particular day...back in september 2015...i was unable to use a shippers restroom/bathroom. so, i unhooked from my trailer and drove 2 miles to target at 0900 in the morning in order to...yes...change out my colostomy bag, which i had for six months due to colon repair. i went in, changed my bag, cleaned up and grabbed a starbucks iced coffee. so...fuck starbucks too. i left in 15 minutes. today....in order to register my commercial vehicle i had to pay a phantom parking ticket that was issued on that day. i went back and reviewed my dash camera...stored in the cloud...and i was able to see...the mother fucking security guard in his chevy impala as i turned in off alameda street. so...fuck you officer riggs...you fucking crooks. i am going to ask a number of my friends and colleagues to not visit, fuck up compton, nor buy a damn thing from target or starbucks. how in the fuck do you issue a citation for parking your bobtail tractor in the parking lot....to go take a shit. fuck compton, fuck target and fuck starbucks....! give me my fucking $698.00 back...and i was never handed the citation. original price of citation... $180.00. but, it was not actually given to me...issued to the truck...and it tripled in price. fuck you....fucking crooks. piss on your city and your community. thieves..... update: this was placed on yelp, as i wrote the mayor of compton brown, all council members, their liason officers and the city manager as well as the parking enforcement director. not one piece of shit responded to my formal letter. so...maybe they will respond to street jive and fuck you and your city letter...complaint. incompetent fucks. read more

I like coming to this target. Its pretty decent. Its always stocked, theres times where not neatly but i understand that its from customers making a mess because if you go midday its always nicely stocked. I always find my products, and cool deals too. Cashiers are pretty friendly if you interact with them. Keep in mind that they see so many customers everyday and deal with rude people and its exhausting.. Its not that easy dealing with customers. You try dealing with rude/picky customers and try to keep a smile on your face. Pfft its not that easy. So give them a break once in a while. Im a cashier at my job so i know how hard it can be. Only downside is that the parking lot is always full on a daily basis, so if you mind parking far then that sucks for you. Another downside is that theres only about 3 registers open daily and theres always a line. So expect to make line for a couple minutes! Theres always room for improvement but Overall its a good store. read more

But when getting the the size I was looking for in the men's department the rep in that department clearly didn't want to assist me I asked to help me look for the size I was looking she was too busy with her earphones on when asked to assist me she said that if it was not there then they were out. I shopped at Target (Compton) on Friday one item I purchased was a half gallon of Target (red container) homemade ice cream. I had to return the ice cream because when I opened the container the ice cream had lost its creamy texture and had freezer burn. I'm sure that ice cream had been in their freezer about a year. Even now that i live in Compton, i still rather drive to the carson one on avalon. Its old, dirty, messy as hell and theyre always low on product here. I do merchandising and have to work in a lot of the local targets. This one is just barely starting to get remodeled. Both carson locations and gardena have been remodeled for months now. Target has been a great store for years and will continue as far as I'm concerned.They're always clean and full of much higher quality stuff than Kmarts and Walmarts.They never try to be too ghetto even though its a discount store. Target has decent (actually really nice) enough clothes,shoes and store brand products to make them a leader amongst the 2 other stores i mentioned before(Walmart,Kmart).Archer Farms their store brand is the best,some items are better than the name brand items). Why three stars and not 5 or 4? The location and price.This store is located off of the Artesia blueline station.You cant walk across the tracks which would make life a lot more easier.You have to walk around and over the tracks up top and cut through the casino to get there. None of that is a problem if you don't have problems walking up there.It becomes a problem when you're finished with your shopping and you have your granny cart full of two bags of heavy cat food and other miscellaneous items walking back. I don't like how its not set up more easily for the train riders.If you come here be prepared to walk up a hill and over, or do your best to get a ride over there.Ill stick with the Walmart in Long Beach on 5th street..easily accessible to everyone from car havers,bus catchers and train riders.That makes good business sense if you ask me! read more

Convenient and accommodating. I have had to return an item or exchange and it was a breeze. It does get annoying though when they switch up the isles. The specialty selections are appreciated and it's well kept. The Starbucks sucks because the employees are tacky and hold conversations with other workers that are on break while they should be concentrating on customer service and the quality of the product. Most definitely the last time I step foot into this Target. I was attempting to purchase clipper which are in a locked glass cabinet, so I called for assistance. Clippers were taking out of the cabinet by a sales rep. When I went to take the clippers from the sales rep, she stated "I'll walk it up for you." Not sure how I was going to manage to sneak out of the store with a box that size. Anyways, in light of the recent Starbucks INCIDENCES, It gave me a real racist vibe, so I just left. This is the store we normally come to because the one on Cherry drives me crazy trying to get past the Food 4 Less and the gas station. Plus the one on Cherry you ALWAYS have people out there asking for "gas money" because their car conveniently broke down at the gas station. Even had a grandma peddling for money. This location isn't like that. Yes it's in Compton, but that's not a deal breaker for me. We normally can get in and out of here in a decent amount of time. It is normally more crowded than some other locations. And I'm sure it's because it's still "after Xmas mode" so lots of things were picked through. The selection here is OK. They normally have a lot of shoes on stock. But it's sometimes hard to find clothes in Large. Guess everyone around is the same size as me. Returns are quick and easy, and the checkers are pretty friendly if you interact with them. More often than not they will not talk to you unless you talk to them first. read more

I'm the Starbucks inside of this Taget and I thought Yvonne and Angel gave excellent customer service....I wanted to give a tip but when I asked they both explained to me that because they work under the Target cooperation that they are not allow to receive tips. I know you have rules and regulations but Compton is already a poor city as far as hourly wages and hours given. The least you guys can do is to let the workers at Starbucks receive their tips...I'm pretty sure none of them are working full time schedules. Angle and Yvonne were both very professional and polite. I was acknowledged while Angel help another customer.
