I came today to purchase multiple items and told the lady on the cashier before scanning any item that I wanted to use two credit cards for payment. She did them all on one credit card and said there is nothing she can do to fix it. She refused to return the items and do the sale again using two cards. I've hesitated to write this review for quite awhile now but I can't take it anymore. When this store first opened the staff was really nice and friendly but now the store is operated by kids who have no manners and are downright disrespectful. I've gotten used to almost being hit by the Target crew as they zip through the aisles with their shopping carts full of returns or merchandise to be put on the shelves. Today, however, this young "team member" turned the blind corner so quickly, right in front of me, that she just about ran me over in the aisle. I've had it. First time at this Target that is 10 minutes from home. There's a customer cued in the check out lane waiting. I got behind this customer. When it was his turn, he placed his items on the table then an employee, older woman with shoulder length blond hair states that the "line" for check out was one line and pointed in a general location close to the clothing racks. My daughter and I had been waiting ~5 minutes without the young woman at the check out register saying anything. Also, she accepted the previous customer that had been waiting like myself. Then, I asked if she would "honor" our wait time, she proceeds to says, "well, the check out line is over there". During this time, both my daughter and I checked if there was any indication of where the "check out" line was and there absolutely wasn't any markers or signage. We wound up needing to wait even more because of customers that arrived after us. One customer that was finishing up his check out when we were "called" to the same register, remarked how we had been there before him. This incident was completely uncalled for with clear demonstration of poor customer service. Despite being close to my home, I won't be shopping at this Target again. read more

I have been a target customer for years and I have never had a bad experience until today. I walked to the register area and I didn't see anyone at any of the registers so I decided to do self check out. While I was scanning my items the screen displayed a message stating " help is in the way" indeed a target employee got to where I was and his first word were " let me guess you scanned too many items" and I said " I'm not sure, this message just displayed" he then says " there's a sign there that says no more than a certain amount" he was very rude and I felt a little uncomfortable but I just apologized as I didn't see the sign. So I continue scanning and and the last item I got was a set of plates, the sleeve in which the plates came in came off and since the plates were heavy I left the plates in the scanning area next to where I was and I scanned the barcode on the sleeve. Since the plates were too expensive I decided to void the item. I once again needed assistance for this. As the same employee is walking my way I can see his annoyed face and the first thing he rudely says is "what now, too many items again" and I said "no, I need to void this item" he then says " omg did you really remove the sleeve off the plates" and I said " oh it came off" and he questions me " it came off" and I say " yes, the plates are there"(pointing to the plates) and he raises his voice and asked " the plates are where, if you don't know the price there's a lot of price checkers all throughout the store. You don't need to wait to get to the register to check the price". I felt extremely disrespected and I was extremely mad but didn't say anything because there was a big line and I didn't want to cause a scene. I once again apologized, completed my transaction and left. That is no way to treat a customer. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I will never return to this target. Best target ever! I do frequent drive-ups here but last week decided to go into the store. I was having a challenging time locating some home items I had seen on the app. There's a very knowledgeable and helpful worker named, Jerry. He physically walked me over to the isle and even waited around a bit to make sure I found everything I needed. I read previous reviews on the "terrible" customer service other customers have received at this location. My suggestion is to either- find Jerry to help you, or Jerry should re-train everyone on how to provide stellar customer service read more

Sandra from guest services is a real "happy camper." I wonder how she is on her good days.. customer service is a 0/10..major attitude from her on me returning items that were a gift. Explained 3 times it was a gift after she made several side comments as to why I didn't have an actual receipt in my hands.. I provided her with a mobile scan through the app of the gifted receipt and tags to all clothing. She also made many comments as to why the tags were all off. Hmm idk girl maybe because they were a gift? Her remarks stop when I brought up if they continued, we could bring the manager into the situation. This store is terrible especially customer service. I came into return some items. After I returned the items I grab stuff needed. I went to pay for items. The store manager standing at the customer service area came over rudely told me to go back and stand at the carpet area where the line starts. There was only one customer being helped at the time. He was very rude. I told him I was following the social distancing stickers on the ground standing six feet apart from the customer in front of me. He said those stickers needed to be removed. Really. He said it so loud to humiliate me in front of other customers in the store. He and his fellow coworkers need training in customer service skills. Was incredibly excited when they announced this Target opening then after visiting 3 or 4 times now I know I will not be returning. Their selection is very small, everything poorly laid out, and the prices are completely unreasonable compared to other locations. Not only this but all the employees look miserable!! Every employee I encountered looked unhappy and annoyed I approached them- considering there was one in every other isle I should have encountered SOMEONE who was happy to be there. I tried to buy formula with the coupon checks and they wouldn't let me use the coupon because it had my husbands name on it. I told them we have the same last name and showed them my ID and the guy still said no! So odd, I even looked online on mom blogs and it's not uncommon for the mom to use the coupons. I don't get why people are hating on this location?!?! It's called a community store folks. it's a smaller store that they stock based on the purchase trends of the demographic in the area. I needed an electric can opener, they did have over 25 coffee makers but no can opener. I have been in 3 times and twice could not find what seems like a standard item. I wish it was still a sporing goods store since there are other stores in the area that have racks of mediocre clothes, better selections of groceries, oh and like there are no other Starbucks in the area. Go buy your hand sanitizer somewhere else! They apply rules inconsistently. You can buy a big gallon of sanitizer but not two small purse size bottles due to "rules." I was going to buy two to put in two separate gift bags but was senselessly stopped at the register by the cashier and manager. Not worth wasting your gas to drive here. Skip it. I love this Target so much, that I actually order things to be delivered there so I don't have to step into a hectic Target. They have a smaller but nice selection of women's clothes as well and after shopping, I just sit and have a coffee at their Starbucks. My daughter likes the toy section and I love that it's not too big and overwhelming. Anything they don't have, can be ordered on the app and delivered for free to the store. Let me start off by saying this target is clean and a joy to shop in. The employees however make it a nightmare. I tolerate them because of convenience. No more. My wife purchased an item online and was waiting for us at pickup. It's worth mentioning this store does NOT have a curbside pickup. Lord knows why. I park upstairs and take the elevator down and was approached by an employee stating that they are at capacity. (Thank you Covid 19). Mind you the store was freaking empty and so were the registers. They said they were following county guidelines (that's a whole other rant right there). Like I said, hardly a stampede. I explained to her the situation and she still said you have to wait. For what? I already made my purchase ONLINE and just picking up! You expect me to wait an hour to get in and pick up an item I already paid for? This isn't the Soviet Union! It takes 5 minutes and they couldn't even give me that. If anyone in corporate sees this review please install a curbside pickup otherwise you'll lose customers. Also it's worth noting the employee was not rude but very polite in a condescending way which irked me even more. She succeeded in pissing me off hence the subsequent review. read more

Ok so I had 5 packs of water that I needed to carry to my car I parked right outside the store which is good but I had to carry all the packs of water from inside the store to my car because we are not allowed to take the cart out side which I understand but there was three overweight target workers staring at me as I was carrying these heavy packs of water into my car no one asked me if they can help me carry the things out to my car no one they just stared at me so I talked to the manager and she told me that they are not allowed to help me carry out heavy things or anything out to my car because of covid which I understood and then I told her well can they please say something like I am so sorry we can't help you we are not allowed to go outside instead of just standing there and staring at me I would understand if they can't help me but at least let the customers know hey we can't help you, instead of just standing there looking lazy and staring!!! Not a well thought out store. No where near the inventory of other targets. It's definitely target light. Very high prices. Don't expect the same discounts as other targets, definitely expect half the things you have on your list to not be able to get. the Target itself here is lovely. it's open, clean and spacious. but the workers here seem to be filled with a deep inconsolable hatred for their jobs. that hatred extends outward toward any unsuspecting customer unfortunate enough to stumble into their waning and uneventful lives. lives that even in the most insignificant interactions somehow ooze a complete lack of joy, purpose or hope. based on my visit to the La Canada target this evening it seems that the only solace the employees here can find from the dull emotional emptiness that they're plagued with is in blank stares when asked questions by customers. but of most of all by being rude purely because of the joy they find in elevating themselves over strangers. This store has potential but its pricing strategy is a big fail. I regularly buy the same items for much less at other Target stores and online. The store price will often be higher than the price on the Target website. Example: Sea Weed Bath Co. Body Wash is $10.69 on Target's website. At the La Canada store it is $15.99 !! Taking the time to price check each item makes for an unpleasant shopping experience (even though the store will match its online prices, if you ask). read more
