We contacted the store and were assured that they will figure out an option to keep us satisfied. Within a week they offered us to pick up and reupholster the damaged half of the couch for free. Initially, we said yes but then changed our mind since the scratch was not really that noticeable unless you really look for it, and we didn't really want to spend weeks without half of the couch. Overall, this is a solid store with good selection and customer service, I just wish they were more careful with the deliveries.

You'll be inspired to switch up your whole decor aesthetic after just one visit! A friend recommended we check them out when we moved into a new house and our beloved couch that we'd literally had for decades... like while we were just dating... was not working in our new space. We needed a custom size and wanted the L shape to create a scenario where our family of four could curl up together and make key memories before the kids head off to college in a few years. We had never designed a couch before but definitely had some thoughts and ideas. The staff were there for it and vibed with us on it over multiple visits, calls, and emails. It was a BIG step for us and they held our hands the whole way. We must have sat on every couch there over the course of 3 visits and in the end, designed with them the PERFECT couch. Everyone was completely lovely. But here's where it gets really good. My husband wanted a low, deep, lounge style but I felt like I needed a little more stucture so we combined the styles of two couches, keeping it low and loungey but adding a second row of cushions so you or a guest can choose if you want to be laid back or more upright. It's the best of wboth worlds and completely flexible for older guests who would be swallowed up in a couch this deep. It's gorgeous... we sat down with them (on that couch!) and plotted it all out, with the L facing the right way in our house to make sense and bring the space to life. Mady hand-sketched it all up right then and there. The delivery team was so nice and lovingly unpacked the whole thing and were so sweet when I had a major brain fog moment and freaked out that they had made a mistake and designed the L facing the WRONG WAY! In quite a panic, I called the shop and reached Noa, who calmly dealt with my extreme freak out. The delivery team patiently waited for the whole thing and consoled me as I shed a few tears. Noa offered to come take a look at it IN MY HOME to assess the situation. A few days later, I'm walking through my home with them (Noa and her mom, the owner!) and we are all chatting about how it actually looks awesome in the orientation that it's in. I still had sworn that I didn't design it that way but agreed that it actually felt like I should have. They were calm, poised, creative, open, and completely invested in making sure their handmade piece felt perfect in my space. They were not aggressive nor accusatory... just there to see how best to resolve the issue, knowing that it was a custom-built piece. And they were lovely humans as well. We talked about art and design, building a business from the ground up, and the challenges with keeping a small business afloat during economic downturns and worldwide pandemics. Months later, I realized that no one made any mistakes and we actually designed it just like this, and it's been my absolute favorite thing in my home ever since. I think about this experience often, and I'm so grateful for their graceful reaction and approach. The couch itself is a standout in the space and sets the tone for the rest of our decor. It's comfortable beyond belief. It's easy to maintain, has held its shape for years now, and is easy to clean. We got it in a cream fabric, so that was a worry, but they taught us how to care for it easily! Not only does it hold our whole family, but a lot more people when the kids have friends over. It has helped shape not only our space from a design perspective but in how we interact within the space and with each other. And we get so many compliments on it. The quality and craftsmanship are unmatched. We couldn't be happier. THANK YOU! But what really stands out is that in this age of faster, cheaper, AI, and automation, this company is a family business of artisans that care deeply for the products they craft and the impact on their customers and clients. They want you to love the pieces you bring home, and they care to work with you until you do. They love art and design, so definitely take their suggestions!! Their pieces show that love and care and offer you a heightened level of quality and comfort. They are well worth the price, and I hope that you will pop your head in the shop and judge for yourself. I recommend anyone who trusts yelp reviews before deciding which furniture store to go to, not to hesitate even for a slight second, and don't even go further down the list. A Star Furniture is #1 store you should walk in to for all your furniture needs. Keenan, Abe, Nana and the whole staff are fantastic, accommodating, knowledgeable, helpful, very nice and good looking;) They deserve even 100 stars for their service, availability, extensive product assortment and quality. It's the shop around the corner for me and my whole family. Anything we need, from a small chair to a full bedroom, kitchen or leaving room sets, we don't even bother stepping into another store. We walk in to A Star Furniture confident that we defiantly will not walk out empty handed. Even when I'm confused as to the specifications of what I want, I trust their knowledge and judgement. A Star Furniture is the worst furniture store I've ever seen. First of all, the prices are higher than other similar stores.Secondly, the boss is a cheater. They deceive the customer by saying that it is the last day of the sale and persuade them to buy the product.You pay a deposit and when on the same day you realize that you are cheated on by them and all the other furniture stores are cheaper and you want to cancel the order the same day, they do not refund by saying you can order something different with that same amount . When you go back and order something new in order not to lose your funds, their boss lies impudently, saying that the money is returned. I want everyone to know that you will be cheated in A Star Furniture store anyway. My recommendation, avoid such cheaters as much as possible. Believe me in other furniture stores you will be served with more quality and affordable prices. I am saying this from my own experience and have heard many of these same complaints about A Star Furniture Store from some friends as well.. read more

My Review was removed Im not sure why but I took time to write another one for consumers to know who they are dealing with so here we go. They pretended that they are giving me a break on the prices I felt very good, on 1399$ sofa set was 1299$ plus a bedroom set which totaled over 2700$ When I got home my friend went on their site to see what I really got and the prices on the site were the same that they discounted me. So in reality they told me high prices and acted like they are giving me couple hundred dollars of break. I was also lied about the delivery. Sunday delivery changed to Tuesday and when Tuesday came got a call from them and I was told that they can't deliver. I went to their store and got a refund, since they don't deserve a penny of my business. So to me they are getting 1 star which should of been a no star. After all the hustle which I told them I have time limit where I need to get everything set up. I am being reasonable with my review !! read more

I have been looking for a sectional for a very long time at a good price. I've seen one from Wal-Mart that I loved but it was sold out. Anyways, I found A-Star on Craigslist and they had a similar sectional I wanted for a bit cheaper on their website. I went in on Friday 10-1-10 and it seemed legit after reading all these weird reviews...Ummm, unfortunately, the bad reviews were kind of true. The salesmen are too pushy and they didn't have the sectional in their showroom. I was skeptical to purchase the sectional from their catalog because I was told that I would have to "assemble" some parts of the sectional that's why the price was so cheap. Seriously? I said no thanks and left the store. I ended up buying the sectional at a store close to the Glendale Galleria...they shipped it for free too. Anyways, this was not a good experience nor a comfortable one. I would not recommend it. read more

I was amazed by the prices but further, I was amazed by the customer service. I bought 2 nightstands for my bed that I had brought with me from Ohio. When I picked them up and brought them home, I noticed that one of the drawers was damaged. I was a little upset so I called the store immediately and the store manager understood fully. He called me the next day and said that one of the salesman lived close to me and he would bring a replacement. The did exactly that. Although it wasn't their fault, they took care of the problem in a timely matter. I give them 5 stars for customer service and if could give more, I would. I will go back when I need a new sofa of dining table. They seem very honest and it is no pressure to buy unlike other major furniture stores. Found this place actually on craigslist not yelp and thought they where nice people, but trying to rip me off. I don't know if they just thought I was stupid or what, but I got quoted prices that I know I saw lower on there advertisments on craigslist. I was helped by a bald man who was not only rude, but creepy. I was there to buy furniture, not be ignored & checked out. Parking was ok because they had some in the back, but it was so dark & it had no lights I kinda made it scary to even go out to walk all the way to the front of the store without seeing a homeless person walk around in the back picking through trashes & hoping one doesnt come up! No the best experience Ive had in a furniture store. I didnt buy because of so many things. I just made my purchase easier and went to living spaces. read more

This is not a place you want to step foot in! First off, this is such a small place, Its just like entering a 2 car garage. Second, the people there are not nice if you look broke. It was one of those days for me where I just wanted to bum it on a Saturday and shop. As soon as I walked it, they looked at me, and no hello, no smile, just a look . I felt very uncomfortable. The furniture they have on the showroom floor looks like its made of cheap materials & is over priced for what they sell. A person there tried to play off a leaterette sofa with a leather sofa. I was recommended to a star by a friend who had bought there before. I went there with the intent of just getting an idea, but after browsing at a few other stores, I realized that a star is the place for us. We shopped for our entire house, and our salesman, Robert, was very helpful and patient. I highly recommend asking for him when you go. We never felt pressured, we changed our mind several times about a few pieces but he never rolled his eyes or made us feel like he was annoyed. I was referred to this place by a friend of mine and I totally understand why. Everyone seemed friendly but we were helped by Robert. What I hate the most about shopping anywhere, is pushy sales people and Robert was not that at all. We explained to him what we're looking for, he showed us a few options and then walked away giving us our space. What????? A sales person who is not sitting on top of you? I first went to Ashley Furniture looking for a sectional and Bed Frame. They were very nice to me there. I came home and started to research pricing and I found A Star Furniture in Glendale. They also sold Ashley Furniture and I went there just to see if they can help me with the price. At Ashley Furniture it was a total of $2340 and at A Star furniture for the same exact items, it was only $1980. They didn't have the items on the showroom floor to see but they showed me in the catalog and I saved about $400 and they delivered everything within a week. I will send my friends there. After reading the first review I knew I had to give this place a shot, so I went over there and Belle was right I got exactly what they promised--the lowest prices in town and great hassle free service. I am very happy with my purchase and will most likely go back to buy the rest of my furniture from there cuz these guys sell everything at wholesale prices. Buyer beware! I bought a black leather sectional sofa that started to rip apart at several seams not even a year after it was purchased...and the sofa was lightly used. It's not like we were using it to camp out at night. Anyway, I contacted them for assistance with repairs. After getting the run around and numerous phone calls and voicemail, I have yet to hear back from anyone....and this was approx 5 months ago. I truly regret purchasing from them. DONT BUY A BED OR BED FRAME FROM HERE!!! Have had my bed for less than 3 months and the bed is horrible. We drove in from Las Vegas, Nevada to see if this one sectional Roxy had been discussing with my wife over the phone for a few days was exactly the same as the one we wanted. Totally worth the drive. It was a great experience go to this store. I furnished my whole house and only 1 item was damaged. They came back the same week and replaced it for a new one. I am very satisfied. I almost $3000 total from what living spaces was charging me. The delivery was smooth but took almost 2 hours to bring in my stuff. I filled my whole house and I will be going back there to buy more. We visited one Friday and were told to look through catalogs. After making a decision on a full complex of apartment furniture (bed, couches, dining, etc.), we pay a large amount for the total, in cash. We tried to negotiate and the owner refused. Next time a moms-and-pops shop refuses to negotiated, my advice is to WALK OUT. There is crazy competition in the furniture world with dozens of shops throughout L.A. In any case, we paid and were given an invoice with each line item written out, with the total amount also reflected. The following Monday the owner calls to say that NOT ONE ITEM, except the bed items (nightstands, dresser, bed) was available. She asked us to COME BACK AGAIN to flip through the catalogs all over again. Needless to say, we were shocked. How do you take money from customers before confirming the inventory is available? Complete amateur job and unprofessional. At this point, we should have known something was up and ask for our money back. In any case, since we are working individuals I asked if we could stop by at 5 or 6. I was told no, that it was better to come at 3 pm. No reason provided - everything the way the owner wants, not the customer. Mind you, Exclusive now has over $5000 of our money in cash in their hands. We return that Monday. The store has no AC and no portable fan. We are sitting in a humid room flipping through catalogs. For some items the owner has her husband "Norik" call the manufacturers - half of the stuff that we select is not available. These are phone calls one-by-one to each manufacturer all the while "Norik" is also helping other customers who come into the store. We finally make a decision and the owner asks for an extra $550 due to the modified items. So because of the owner's fault in not checking the inventory the first time, and us having to go back and relook at everything, we are now penalized. This shows a complete disrespect for the customer and utter unprofessionalism. We should have walked away, but decided to go through with the transaction. We were told that all the items would come on time, but the bed set, which would come June 30. When the majority of the items were to be delivered, we ended up waiting two hours after the named delivery time only for "Norik" and his son to set up all the furniture for ALMOST 4 HOURS! They did not think to hire workers to help them out - instead, they finished all installation at 9 pm on a weekday!!! Completely unprofessional. For the bed set, the promised June 30th date went by and that date ended up being changed to July 20th or so. On July 20 or thereabouts, we call the business. No answer. We stop by - doors are locked. We call the owner on her cell phone and she tells us she is in Armenia!!! People are waiting for a bed to sleep on and this person, knowing our promised delivery date, leaves the country without even telling us a word about the delay in delivery! I ended up stopped by a few days later when the shop was open and was told that "Norik" would call the manufacturer and provide an update by phone. When he called me back, he said August 20th. Owner claimed other customers were also experiencing delays, customs issues, blah blah. When we finally got the bed delivered - a 3-6 pm timeframe was given - father and son show up at 6 pm and leave at 7:15 pm, ruining our Friday night. Conclusion: Not only did we overpay for the quality delivered, but promises were made and not kept. Better go to Bob's where a team of workers will install your furniture and there won't be any games. Or better yet, visit the different stores and negotiate. Get everything in writing. Follow up on delays. MAKE SURE INVENTORY IS IN WHEN YOU PURCHASE.
