Oh, my...where to begin? My husband and I were walking through Montrose this past November. I had never noticed this store before. It is a little gem, stuck between two other stores and the interior was decorated like an absolute fairyland of lights, glitter, and good taste. The reviewer who complained that they couldn't get a wheelchair through the tightly decorated aisle or a baby stroller needs to stop and think. The inventory here is very delicate and the chance of catching an item on a moving chair or stroller could be highly upsetting to both owner and customer. LA real estate is very expensive. Commercial spaces that are tighter may limit your ability to shop in the case of small boutiques. That's why online stores are so convenient for all of us. The disabled, elderly, immobile, and for parents of children under six who might inadvertently handle or break delicate items may need to use caution. This is not the owner's fault. This store has beautiful jewelry, but I needed Christmas hostess gifts this holiday. I walked out of there with tons of beautiful hand blown ornaments and holiday decor for the home. Every item was lovely and each presented beautifully upon lit glass shelves. I was so excited to find the items I did that I returned the next day and bought two more gifts. A gorgeous 4" ballerina ornament and a colorful hot air balloon ornament. Nothing you could find in Macy's or Ross or Neimann Marcus. Our New Year's hostess was elated when she opened her LaPerla bag stuffed with colorful tissue paper and the ornaments we brought to her party. The best surprise was the lovely gift wrapping. NO ONE DOES THAT ANYMORE. It's is generous of the owners and kind of them to share such a luxury. I'll be shopping at LaPerla again very soon and want to thank Soma and all her lovely helpers. Finally, I don't have to make a big drive to Salutations over in Pasadena. Why? I have luxury gifts right here in our neighborhood and we're supporting small businesses in our own community. They also sell necklaces, bracelets, etc. Prices vary, from reasonable to higher. The atmosphere was kinda chaotic, the store was crowded and too busy. Overall, fun to browse but some of the merchandise is on the cheesy, gaudy side. read more

My low star rating is due to their return policy. I used to be a frequent shopper myself, but purchasing directly from a retailer, or at a department store allows for a better return/exchange option- especially when gift giving. When the majority of your customers are purchasing to gift give, a 30 day non-negotiable return policy "because the computer system doesn't allow" is really just poor customer service. read more

This store is very hot and cold! If i could give zero stars i truly would. The employees seem to make their rules as they go. You do not get greeted when you walk in. The store is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. It is so tight that if you walk in with a wheelchair or stroller you will manage to hit something. Their prices are the highest in comparison to local stores with the same merchandise. There are several stores nearby that carry the same brands that regularly give discounts. Do your research people. This store does not allow you to combine store credit (which is literally like cash) with any promotion. Which makes no sense. This situation is like a store not allowing you to get a sale price of an item because you are purchasing with a giftcard. Lolll sounds insane right!! When i asked why i couldn't use store credit and the promotion, they said because i wasnt spending new money in their store and that they loose money when people exchange items for new items because they spend time, effot and energy for both sales but only get paid for one. This shop has beautiful items and a great selection. However from the moment my fiancée and I entered the store, one of the employees followed us around in stalker mode. She didn't smile at me until I left the store. I felt so uncomfortable being stared at that I left. I don't think it was a security thing because there were other people but she was watching us specifically. I thought it was rude. We first attempted to enter a spa next to Alex and Ani's to cross thru to the farmer's market. The owner of the spa refused to let us enter because she said she didn't want the liability. I have always wanted to stop by this store and I finally had a chance to while I was enjoying Oktoberfest this past weekend. I'm very glad I did! I stopped by with my friend who needed a gift for her friend's daughter's birthday and she found a very cute bracelet on sale. I also bought a beautiful evil eye bracelet in 14kt gold. Im extremely disappointed at their customer service as a preferred customer. My purchased 3 items yesterday and I went in today for an exchange with original receipt. The ladies told me I can exchange for same total amount. I picked 2 Michael Aram items, one was the butterfly salt/pepper holder which was labeled $100 on tag and the butterfly 5x7 frame. The lady with red curly hair charged me original price and refused to give me discount as preferred customer since my husband didn't provide my name when purchasing the gifts. I said fine, no worries. She then charged my $105 instead of $100 saying they haven't out the new price tags on yet. I said ur item on display table has it priced $100 and thats what customer service should be since thats the price I went with, she argued and said no we haven't had time yet to change tags. And to top it off she charges me $15 for tax just for the frame and another $15 for the frame. I said, why are you charging me 15% tax, she had no explanation but just said thats how much we charge on tax! Wow!! Total thieves!!! Venus gifts in glendale rocks and will always keep their customers because of their prices and customer service and im glad im one of their customers. I refuse to go back to Perla due to the lack of customer service and total rip off!! I will never ever go back. If anyone wants to be robbed and charged for extra bullshit, then make sure to stop and visit Perla to know for yourself. As an Armenian, I always support Armenian small business instead of bigger companies but it's a shame how they talk n treat you when they know you can afford it.
