He was so kind and helpful. He had my glasses fixed up with 2 new silicone nose pieces before I even had a chance to sit down and get comfortable. He even adjusted them for me. I had them since May 2025 AND they are so muddled that I have to buy dollar store glasses to see clearly. The anti-reflective coating is so worn you can see the glare in my pictures. This is the 2nd pair of clear lenses that failed within 6 months. Nice enough, they're replacing these with a new pair. I'm leery because the rate these demolish are great. What are they using? I have glasses from America's Best that don't degrade like Eye Glass World does. I'm going to get this free pair wear them, and buy NEW glasses at America's Best after the start of the new year. In 6 months I will compare the lenses. Based on past experience I'm pretty sure America's Best will remain the better lens. AVOID Eyeglass World. I believe I'm getting the free pair in order to keep my business. When you look at the pictures you will see foggy, muddled lenses that look scratched but actually the coating used has rubbed in a way that it looks like the coating was applied with very little diligence on the craftsmanship part.

The first two attempts I sat and waited without any acknowledgment of my presence despite the fact that I was sitting in a chair right in the middle of three sales people. I just dealt with it because they were all helping someone. After an hour waiting I was still 100% invisible. It was super strange. So, oh well. I decide to stop in this morning right when they opened and I was indeed the only customer. A couple employees were chatting with each other another dude was on the phone and then some guy walks toward me after about 15 min. I thought GREAT! He walked right by me sat at his desk and said nothing. You'd think I had a booger on my face or something. I approached him gently and said: "Are you able to help me?" I was in this business in the late 1970s, and I know what makes a professional optician. It has nothing to do with the frames offered or the shop's high prices. An optician needs to take proper measurements, advise you on fit and size of the frame for your particular face, and most importantly, the optician must follow up with the lab to make sure the lab is following the doctor's prescription and the patent's requests. Pat Shaw at the Moran Eye Center Opticians on the main floor is a master. I walked in skeptical, with my weird European frames in hand, ready to "direct" and "supervise" the making of my lenses. Pat, with a ready laugh and a professional disposition, handled my "demands" with aplomb, totally diffusing my skepticism. He knew what I wanted and would take care of it. Today, just a few days later, I picked up my pairs of glasses, and they were perfect. I can finally see something after my cataract surgery, and the tints were perfect! Not only were my lenses superb, the prices were amazingly reasonable. I am one happy dude!
