I have been here a few times this year so far, and have interacted with every employee that they have. They all are exceptional, and I had very positive experiences. I'm reading some of these older posts, about the staff being pushy to make sales. I didn't see that to be the case at all. In fact, my last two visits were free of charge, since they were appointments made just to match me up with the right contact lenses. I just left today with 4 days worth of contact lenses, a bottle of soution/contact case, and hydrating eye drops that they gave me to practice with. These visits included exams, troubleshooting, and training with contact lenses. They went above and beyond what I expected, to help me out to the end. read more

Store hours say that this place is open from 8:00 am - 7:00 pm on Saturdays. It is 12:20 pm on Saturday and the store has been closed for over 30 minutes. On top of that, the customer experience has been getting worse every time I have stopped by. I will take my money elsewhere. read more

For the last 6 years, I have gone here every year like clock work. The reasons were two fold the cost and Studio an amazing lady who always made me feel loved. Dr. Toan always seemed competent and fine but the other worker ladies were abrasive. The other day when I accidentally missed my appointment and called to reschedule the lady was super mean. I live in SF and don't have a car but to take public transport plus the cost of the exam is the same as a chain in SF. I hope they still have Studio she put the warmth in that place. read more

One Word- Myla. She is AMAZING and the energy that she brings to this office is unmatched. I've been coming here for almost four years now and my experiences just get better and better. Myla is absolutely amazing! (Did I mention that already?) I was greeted and asked if I had an appointment. I said yes and then was instructed to check out frames until my doctor was ready for me. I went in almost immediately. I had picked out two frames I liked and before I went in Myla said, "Don't worry we'll get you styled when you come back out." My doctor was great and he asked me if I had any concerns with my eyes. When I told him that I have trouble focusing up close, he gently explained to me that I'm getting older and that it's normal. (Such is life.) After my appointment, Myla helped me choose the right frame for me and asked me to model them for the other girls in the office. She also convinced me to get some FABULOUS Docle and Gabbanna sunglasses since my flex plan would cover it. I pick them up next week and Myla has me so excited over these glasses! This office is clean and the staff is efficient. I have always felt comfortable here and at this point, couldn't imagine going anywhere else. It was my first time coming to target optical. I had an appointment and was in and out pretty quick. Since I scheduled an appointment online, they were able to send me forms to fill out prior to my visit. I did not have insurance and I was going in for an eye exam and new glasses. Dr. Tiffany Leung was super sweet and helpful throughout the exam. $55 for exam and additional $20 for dilation. Overall the doctor's visit was awesome and they have quite a bit of variety of prescription glasses and sunglasses available. read more

I've been here twice. I won't be here again. The first time: I walked in to set up an appointment to see an optometrist. The receptionist was on the phone, and told me to hold. Sure fine. The optometrist was with someone, turned around and said that they'd be right with them. Sure, fine. Then a woman comes in, and the optometrist drops her attention from the first person to her. After having a conversation for a bit, she returns to the first guy, still neglecting me. Helping me would've taken less than the conversation she had with the woman who walked in. After standing for about 10 minutes, I was fed up and interrupted the receptionist saying I just wanted to set up an appointment. She wrote down my information and I left. Second time: On the day of my appointment, I couldn't make it since I was called into work on emergency. I called and IMMEDIATELY I was put on hold. Honestly, when it comes to customer service, I really think people would prefer that their calls not be picked up versus be PUT ON HOLD. I'm calling an office, NOT A CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. I just wanted to say that I couldn't make it, apologize for the inconvenience, and be courteous to the people at the office. I was on hold for 15 minutes. I have an iPhone, it tracks the time the call goes for the moment it was received. It said 15. I asked a few of my associates and friends about the department, they said that it's one of the most unorganized office they've been to. It's like taking your pet to an amateur pet grooming parlor run by high schoolers. I do not recommend coming here. Their pharmacy is nice though, the department store is nice, just avoid the optical center. Unprofessional, BIASED, and rude. read more

Affordable eye exams (49 boners or dollars) for Poory Cory's like me without insurance. The employees at this specific location are extremely friendly. Expect to be greeted with warm smiles and hugs. Yes I said HUGS. They have a decent variety of frames which are usually on sale. Again, a total plus for people like me who are not trying to spend $$$$ on a new pair of specs. All in all I would highly recommend this place to anyone with four eyes :) read more

This optical sucksss!!!! Had my wife reading glasses process on Feb 28, 2014 and guest what we still don't have not a single screw from the reading glasses. I guest their laboratory has a big crack on their office that our order went into. Yelp should have a negative rating on their website if some people could give 5 star there should be 5 negative star. We ask for some compensation and the sales people offered my wife a free cleaning solution for her contact lenses... Could you imagine they offered a free cleaning solution compared to the total amount of business we gave them... its like eating on a expensive restaurant and you found something on your food and they will compensate you with a Happy Meal from McDonald's!!!! read more

I've been wearing glasses for many years and have gone to many different optical stores in the Bay Area and this is by far the WORSE place I've ever been to. The staff is friendly but overall, the eye doctors do not know what the !(*&%#^ they're doing. Our family of 4 went at the end of 2013 to get new glasses. All of us could not see clearly out of our new glasses so we went back and they all got new tests. Second pair was another waste of time. Though I have insurance, my 2 sons' glasses were about $300 out of pocket and my husband & I have progressive glasses and other features so they ran over $500 each. My 2 sons didn't' want to deal with it anymore so that was just money down the drain. We never did get resolution on our problem so as of today we are stuck with glasses that we can't see clearly out of. I don't have a bridge so I had to go elsewhere to pul on notepads so that's another wasted money. The manager told me to wear it for a couple of weeks and my eyes would adjust and then they will be fine. NOT TRUE. If you're searching a new place to get your new glasses, I suggest you not go here! read more

Came in last week to get my daughter a new pair of glasses. My daughter picked out the glasses she liked and we were calculated some numbers to let me know what my copay would be. We visited one other place prior to get an idea of how much my copay would be after insurance pays their portion. To my surprise, the numbers I was given were totally off what I had in mind. Now, just to let you guys know, I did inform them beforehand what type of vision coverage we had. What this place didn't tell me is that they are considered out of network and that's why the copayment was different from what I expected. This pissed me off because had I known that, I wouldn't have wasted any time looking for glasses. I work in the dental field and I understand how in and out of network coverages work. It's more financially beneficial for the customer/patient to see a doctor within their insurance network. read more

5 stars for ate Myla!!! Excellent customer service skills and very efficient! We felt very welcomed from the moment we stepped inside the store. We had our 5 year old and 19 month old with us, and they were treated like customers as well, ate Myla definitely has her way with kids! They were able to fit us in as walk-in patients since two of their patients cancelled, which was perfect, and the dr. was able to see both my husband and I very quickly. Unfortunately, I was told I have "computer vision syndrome,"--I work 40 hours a week in front of a computer--but I'm glad that ate Myla was able to assist me from my insurance to picking my pair of glasses. Now all I have to do is to wait for insurance reimbursement and the shipment of my glasses. I definitely highly recommend! Weren't pushy at all when it comes to add ons! read more

(Tita) Myla and Dr. Thach were amazing! My boyfriend accidentally broke his glasses and was due for a check up. We inquired at a few places, but they were pretty pricey even with insurance. Myla went above and beyond so she can help my boyfriend out. She called the insurance company to make sure he got some kind of deal for an exam and a pair of new glasses. She even squeezed him in with Dr. Thach, since we were just attempting to do a walk-in appointment. Dr. Thach was very efficient and helpful. My boyfriend needed some sort of vision aid ASAP, since his vision is pretty bad and can't see without them. Over at Target Optical, they do send out the glasses so it takes about 12 business days. My boyfriend decided to get contacts for the first time, which Dr. Thach was really patient about, since he had a hard time practicing with them. We're both really happy with the customer service we received here and we were treated like family as well. I would definitely recommend Target Optical over all the optometrists and eyeglass retailers I've ever been to, and would come back again when it's time for me to get a new pair. read more

Just bought glasses here this weekend, happy customer. Prices/gen: Most frames run bet roughly $100-200 and lenses seem to vary w/ your prescription and the kind of lenses so add another $100-$200+, if you don't have insurance. Good selection of frames and brands, of which there are many inc Mossimo, Vogue, Ray Ban, etc. They offer a 15 month insurance package for around $30 that covers anything that goes wrong or breaks, think it through before you come in. Service: I came in multiple times and while the first two women that helped me were nice and tried to help, they didn't find frames that fit my face. Enter Studio, who helped me when I returned, who did an awesome job of helping me efficiently find perfect frames, who is the reason for the 5 stars. read more

Time and time again, Studio at Target Serramonte keeps me coming back. Even though they don't take our VSP insurance, Target Optical still has the BEST deals on frames and lenses. This in itself should enough but what truly brings us back is Studio who is very professional, personable and knowledgeable at getting the right frame and lens for my teenagers. This is now the third time we've returned to Target. Although my husband and got lasik and not longer need glasses - yahoo!....our kids are constantly losing, breaking their glasses. Target (mainly Studio) keeps us coming back for glasses. You know that when someone makes an impression on a 17th year old, they must have made a difference. I've been here before and have received excellent service....today was a different story. I called in earlier this week to make an appt. I currently do not have insurance and need new contacts so I was looking for a place that wouldn't charge me too much for an eye appt. The person I spoke to on the phone was very clear about the pricing. She told me it would be between $40-60. I then asked "even if i do not have insurance?" She said yes. I was beyond excited...I go in today and another worker tells me she doesn't know who I spoke to, but that it's going to be between $80-109 depending on my prescription. She then continued to ask me why I didn't have insurance. ???? Very unprofessional. I wish I would have spoken to their manager. We've ordered prescription glasses for my kids and mom from this location and they have always been very helpful. They have a pretty good selection of frames both for adults and youth. We've not used the optometry service in this location before so that might be something to look forward to in the future if we need to. The staff here are quite friendly and knowledgeable. This is a new location and service that Target is opening so it could appear that they seem disorganized at times. I recommend this place if you need glasses. This review pertains to Dr. Max Holland's office. Completely unprofessional. Despite the fact that they take VSP Insurance, they waited until the time of the visit to tell me that my plan is out of network. They asked me to arrive 10 minutes early, but were not back from lunch themselves. When I asked why no on bothered to tell me that they were out of network until the last minute, I was lied to and told that I was called. I just rechecked my messages and this was not so. I've been getting eye exams here for years now for both contacts and glasses. I called in the morning for a last minute appointment and they were able to fit me in in the afternoon. The receptionist was friendly and funny. The exam was done by Dr. Toan and took about 20 minutes. I felt comfortable with him and he was patient when I couldn't decide which lens helped me see better during the exam. I didn't get my eyes dilated, because the doctor said my eyes were healthy. The eye exam was $55 and the exam for contacts is $89. Dilation is an extra $20. The receptionist also gave me a free bottle of saline solution even though I didn't go in for a contacts exam. There were also discounts going at target for frames and lenses. I told the receptionist that I wasn't planning on purchasing frames there, and she didn't pressure me in to buying any. read more

I just feel I needed a new eyeglasses even if I already has an RGP contact lens. So I first went to Costco SSF and I find it not okay. I asked for an appointment then they schedule me 7:30pm. But the next day they called and they told me they are cancelling because they are only open until 6pm. Duh. So I went back to Target Optical at Serramonte and they accommodate me without appointment so I feel this is the place for me. No wait, no stern person, only friendly and knowledgeable people with smile on their faces. The Doctor is very well knowledgeable and even explained everything to me. He didn't sell me the eyeglasses because we found out that my current glasses has the same rx and he told me it is up to me if I want to purchase another pair. I think it is honest. Some would think of the sales but Dr. Than didn't do that. He gave me options which is very good. I was referred to the lady at the counter for eyeglasses choises and she is so nice and patient. She helped me choose the proper eyeglasses good for my face and she even asked me if I have aarp so that I can get the discount aside from the 25% off. We are planning to get my husbands eyeglasses here next time because of the good service that they provided me. read more
