Found this location while just going on a shopping run at Target as I was leaving the store. I was used to the service of Target Optical from South Carolina but had not tried them while living in Los Angeles. When I found myself at this location, I looked around and was greeted by Moses. Gabby and Moses were not only the most helpful people but also comforting, personable, easy to work with and allowed me to take my time while searching for my new pair of glasses. They gave me so many options and worked with me through every step. I am so thankful! Gabby even followed up days later with prices and discounts to make sure that I got everything I needed and was happy with the glasses I was purchasing. Such great costumer service! I had a great experience with the front desk staff. They were very helpful, informative, and took the time to explain my insurance coverage and the entire procedure for my eye exam, which I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, my experience with the main doctor Bert was very uncomfortable. I did not feel welcomed, and I felt spoken to in a very dismissive and condescending manner. As a grown 42-year-old man, I did not appreciate being spoken to like a child. It honestly made the exam uncomfortable from start to finish. I stayed quiet throughout most of the appointment because it felt like anything I said would upset him. While he did complete the exam itself, the overall experience with him was unforgettable in the worst way. Because of that interaction alone, I would not return to this location. This optometry is underrated in my opinion, it's hidden inside Target but the service is amazing, Dr Erin was so patient with my mother who recently began having vision changes and needed glasses, the doctor was so patient to explain the changes with my mother and her current status, she also has a optos machine to look at the optic nerve. My mother was finally able to get the glasses she needed. The optician staff at the front desk are all so knowledgeable and helpful at the gentleman that helped my mother with the fitting took his time to explain everything to my mother. They really treat you like family, I highly recommend their care and will come here myself for my next check up too. read more

***Terrible customer service, scams, and overpriced crap glasses. Returned both pairs the day after I got them*** Found a pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses I liked here. As I was purchasing them the price was crazy high. Without even asking me, the girl rang me up for the most expensive lenses. There are five levels. They're so expensive because they're Ray-ban and they have "clear vision". I asked what that meant and she said "it makes your vision clearer". She had no idea what it meant or why they were charging for it. Which means they're just telling employees to overcharge customers for nothing. Huge red flag. So I tell her I want different lenses, fine. Three weeks go by. No contact from them. I call and ask about my glasses. The woman on the phone- in not a very nice way- says "we texted you" and told me a phone number that wasn't mine. So that was all they did to try to get a hold of me. One text to a wrong number. And I know they had my email because she asked for it when I bought the glasses and THEY PUT ME ON THEIR MAILING LISTS. So they can't contact me for my glasses that were already paid for but they can put me on their mailing lists. Fantastic. I pick up my glasses uneventfully. When I get them in my hands I'm surprised at how cheap they feel. For the price you would expect sturdier glasses. These felt cheap. When I looked at the sunglasses closer I noticed the plastic is poorly put together on the hinge and the lenses aren't in correctly. All around bad production. Two hours later I drop the glasses. Not thrown, not dropped from six floors up. Holding them at my waist they fall. And both lenses are VERY scratched. Like, too much. I have a pair of glasses that have lasted for five years and don't have scratches like this. I have a pair from See that I threw- without a case- into my backpack for school every day and they don't have a scratch on them. So they're obviously not made well. I called and asked if they would replace the lenses and was informed that they're "scratch resistant not scratch proof". I know they're not indestructible. But a drop once from waist high shouldn't scratch both lenses. How long are these supposed to last a month? A year? Two years? For hundreds of dollars they should have some staying power. Returned both pairs. The service and quality of glasses was the worst. To add insult to the whole thing when the woman was returning them I could see her screen. There was a question that asked if there was anything wrong with the item and she selected "NO". There was absolutely something wrong with both pairs of glasses. Not one employee did their job well. They tried to scam me into more expensive lenses, were unhelpful when they scratched, then pretended nothing was wrong when I returned them. Paid $150 less at Warby Parker for significantly better glasses. read more

I wish I could leave a negative star for the service I experienced at Erin's office in Target Optical. I initially had an eye exam in March 2022. I did not have my insurance card with me at the time but was told by the manager, Erin Loucks, not Erin the optometrist, that if I paid for the exam out of pocket and then brought in my insurance card, Erin would reimburse me and file the eye exam claim with my insurance. She made it sound super easy and not problematic at all. A couple weeks later I go to the Target Optical and bring my insurance card as instructed. The person working there at the time, I believe his name was Jose, tells me that he's checked with Erin Gezukarayan, the optometrist, and cannot refund the eye exam and that I need to file a claim with my insurance. So I call my insurance and let them know what happened. They tell me that as the member I cannot file the claim and that the optometry office needs to file the claim themselves. They call Erin L. at Target Optical and she says that she's so sorry that this has slipped through the cracks and she's so embarrassed and she will get this sorted right away and give me a call by Thursday (in a few days). She's so apologetic over the phone with the insurance representative on the line with me. Now it's Friday and I haven't received any calls from her. So I call her and she picks up and tells me, "Oh let me grab your information and I will call you right back." I NEVER hear from her... I try getting a hold of her several times and I am just getting the run around from her. Completely different attitude then when I was on the line with her and the insurance rep. This exchange has been going on since March and we are now in August- over 5 months. I have tried to cancel the transaction with my credit card but since I signed the transaction receipt I cannot get a refund. I call my insurance rep again today and the insurance rep calls Erin L. to sort this out one last time. The insurance rep tells me that she tried to talk to Erin and couldn't get a word in. That Erin L. was very rude and refuses to submit the claim. Erin Loucks lied and is completely unprofessional. This was not what she told me when I first went in to do the eye exam. She said assured me that I just needed to bring in my insurance card and I would get a refund. This is my last resort since she is refusing to file the claim so I can get my money back. If you've made it down to here... thank you for reading my story. I hope you do not give her your business and this doesn't happen to anyone else. This was the most horrible experience by a "service professional" I have experienced. It has been very stressful and time consuming. I will never go back to this office again. read more

I just wanted some decent glasses (nothing super fancy) and I quickly found affordable frames that I liked. Before purchasing them, I shopped around at multiple nearby private optometrists, and found that Target's frames were by far the most affordable. Since Target isn't considered "in-network" with VSP vision insurance, I went to a nearby private optometrist to get the lenses, hoping to get a better discount. Turned out the private optometrist was going to charge me (JUST for lenses - not frames): - $25 "materials" co-pay - $175 for hi-index 1.67 lenses - $75 for anti-reflective coating I ended up going back to Target, and got the same 1.67 hi-index lenses with anti-reflective coating for $150, INCLUDING my $100 frames!!!! That price was with my VSP insurance which Target was somehow able to apply even though they're not a VSP provider, plus a $25 off coupon I had gotten in the mail. Don't waste your time visiting Dr. Erin (Yeranui) Gezukarayan at Target Optical in Glendale Galleria! What a rude and unprofessional doctor! I arrive 10 minutes early for an for appointment for a recheck on a new prescription glasses I had just received that were too strong and as I walk in with my sister, the doctor calls out my name. She tell us to follow her in without greeting us. I greeted her politely to which she completely ignores and just says: "Sit yourself at the machine, what's the problem?!" I explain the situation. She says come in to the second office and just points to the chair. While she's doing the exam, she curtly says: "The new glasses are too strong, you HAVE TO DECIDE WHETHER YOU WANT A 16" OR 18" DISTANCE READING GLASSES!" I'm so shocked at her rudeness that just want to get it done & over with. I tell her that my sister also has a problem with her new glasses but there was no appointment left for that day so should we make another appointment for her. She is silent so I repeat my question while flabbergasted at her utter ignorance! She looks away while turning in her chair and says: "Check with the front desk for that!". Needless to say we had not read the reviews here about her otherwise we would never have made an appointment with her. Our initial appointment had been with Dr. Law who was very nice & professional but on vacation that week. Never going back to her. Then after we reply to Target feedback, she sends us a childish reply that we have attached a photo of, adding lie to her unprofessionalism. She now claims I was late which I was not!!! And nothing is mentioned while we were there. Also that me going with a companion distracted her! What utter nonsense! I am so incredibly pleased with my experience at the Glendale Target Optical Center. Because I had my eye exam, glasses pickup and then contacts pickup on three different days I had plenty of opportunities to interact with the staff. Dr. Gezukarayan was the most patient, friendly optometrist I've had examine my eyes. And she got it right on the first time! Even my contact lenses are spot on. I was also helped by Faria and Gabby, who were both professional yet welcoming and kind. I watched them gracefully deal with a difficult customer, which blew my mind because they were so calm and friendly about it! In the past ten years, I've only used Target Optical for my glasses when I didn't have insurance. My last un-insured visit to the Glendale location was so pleasant that I'm now going there with insurance! (I don't drive, and there are at least 6 fancy upscale opticians near me in West Hollywood, so riding the bus to Glendale is a bit of a trek). My new glasses are the best frames, best prescription, best fit, and best value EVER. The ladies are the front desk are especially friendly and helpful, which is one reason I will keep coming back.
