The girls who assisted were very professional and friendly. Helped me make an appointment and showed me different frames. I found the doctor to be a bit tightly-wound. His questions were not always eye-related. He is a bit of an oddball, but very thorough and knowledgeable. I guess as long as he is a good eye doctor, that's all that should matter, but I like a bit of social skills in my I tractions with people. This is with Target Optical. Great eye exam, great doctor BUT poor customer service. Sold some glasses that I realized that I don't need. Was also charged over $350 (after insurance) for progressive lenses (very expensive). I called within 2 hours of purchase to cancel since I realized I didn't need the glasses. I was told by the person in the optical department that I could not cancel my order since they had already processed it and that the company they use to make the lenses was "already making them". Seems ridiculous that I can't cancel an order that was just made (and according to them takes at least 10 days to process). I called Target customer service to see if I could get it resolved. Target customer service stated that they had no insight to how Target optical operates so they couldn't help me. Overall, I am very disappointed with my experience and unfortunately will probably not be using this service again. read more

First and foremost, I want to make it very clear that our optometrist was awesome. Our optometrist (Dr. Lauren Felipe) was kind, professional, and worked very efficiently with my entire family. Our experience with Maritza, the customer service representative who processed our prescriptions and handled the purchase of our glasses was fine, too. I am writing because I am unhappy with the timeliness of the coupons that were sent to me. After contacting Target Optical headquarters online, I found out it is the responsibility of each store to send out correspondence. Every year without fail during the spring, I get coupons from Target Optical for prescription glasses--usually one coupon is for me and the other is for a friend. The good thing about the coupons is that they can be used in conjunction with my insurance, so I can save quite a bit. Because I always receive the coupons in the spring and it's now the summer, I figured that Target Optical wasn't going to send them at all this year. So I went ahead and scheduled our annual family appointments for July 3, 2024 (we always go in July). Upon finishing our appointments, 2 of our 4 family members end up needing prescriptions. I let the woman at the front desk know that I usually get paper coupons in the mail in the spring that I use towards prescriptions, but this year I didn't get any. I even asked her if she had anything that she could scan on her end that would give me a discount. (She didn't.) So I told her that I'd like to use the email coupon/deal that I got. Upon reading the fine print in the email, I find out that the emailed coupon cannot be used in conjunction with insurance. I understand and make my payment for the two prescriptions. I kid you not, but about 2 hours after I got home from our appointments, I received my mail from the post office (and it was the ONLY mail I got today!) from Target Optical and lo and behold, it was the paper coupons that I had been waiting for and hoping to use! To add insult to injury, the coupons are combinable with vision benefits, so I could have totally used them earlier. What gets me is that the coupons expire at the end of this month (on July 31, 2024), so this leads me to believe that they should have been sent a lot earlier this year and not during the month that they expire. I called Target Optical and the woman who answered the phone (Maritza) explained to me that the bill had already been sent to my insurance, so they can't "undo" it and charge me again so that I can take advantage of the discounts. I also called the Target Optical manager (Virginia) and she told me that the coupon had to be presented at the time of purchase and that there was nothing that could be done at this point. My problem isn't so much with the people I dealt with--I understand how coupons work and that they have to follow procedure; rather, it's with their lack of acceptance of responsibility with sending out correspondence in a timely manner. The people I talked to at Target Optical claimed that they are not responsible for sending out the correspondence to their customers, even though I pointed out to them that their address appeared on the return part of the letterhead. And if it's done electronically, why is that every year in the past I've gotten them in the spring, but this year I got them in the summer, a mere 4 weeks before they expire? I feel that I lost out because somebody dropped the ball in sending the coupons to me in a timely manner. And it's not like I can use the coupons towards next year's prescriptions because they expire in a few weeks! To send the coupons out and give me less than a month to use them is inconsiderate and not in the best interest of the business. Target Optical--please be more efficient in sending out your coupons and correspondence. Your loyal customers would appreciate it. read more

Little back story... My girlfriend purchased a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses at this Target Optical store 2nd week of June near closing time with a wonderful employee named Freddy (apologize if i misspelled your name). He was patient answering all our questions, fixing my glasses because they were loose, and with my trying on different pairs of sunglasses that I would want prescribed in the future. We go on and purchase the Ray-Bans and he tells us that we have 90 days to return, exchange, get it fixed, whatevers. Cool! We get the glasses a couple weeks later, they came scratched, and due to COVID hours it was a bit hard to get them exchanged. We come in August doing our shopping when we stopped by Optical and ask Martiza what the policy is for getting them fixed and she states it has to be done within 60 days with proof with a receipt. Luckily we have a copy online. 09/06/20 - We stop by to get them exchanged since we saw online it is 90 days no hassle. That's when Maritza informs us that we in fact cannot exchange them, but she'll accommodate us this time. Then it was changed to you actually need to pay $35 dollars but ill give it to you for $7 and change. So I stepped aside confused and called Manhattan Beach Target Optical and ask how it works. To my surprise they told me, (long story short) within 90 days you can do whatever with the glasses, $35 is for extended warranty, and that all Target Optical operates under that model. I bring it up to Maritza's attention that we don't understand why we're being charged, and that Manhattan Beach Optical says otherwise, with her response as "Oh that's Manhattan Beach we're San Pedro" Shaking her head as if we were an inconvenience we politely declined the service and told her we'd just go to Manhattan Beach. To her response is that "I'm already doing it, i'll just do it" (still shaking her head). Here's the kicker! On our way to Manhattan Beach Target Optical, I decided to call just in case we needed to schedule an appointment. Jasmine helped us over the phone. She was able to reorder the same glasses, told us when they come in, we would just exchange. a 2 min phone conversation.... I didn't mind driving 30 mins to the location but she saved us the time! It's unfortunate that Maritza's service and demeanor makes me not want to go back to San Pedro's location since it is 5 mins from where I live, but will be driving the extra 30 mins to Manhattan Beach's. read more

I and my child went in and both confirmed out appointment etc. twice rescheduled for the "DR being out" . this last visit was a complete mess, my benefits which I use and know seemed to be inadequate and was quoted 2 different copays. and when checking out it was even higher of a copay then I had ever paid. and my sons copay was almost double. The Dr that examined my eyes and my son. seemed to only care about the pandemic and the "current presidential administration" than accurately checking my vision. Trust the reviews and DO NOT come here. I decided to order glasses at Target Optical out of convenience. When I ordered the first pair, the staff was kind and placed my order. The total was around $270 with insurance and blue light lenses. I decided I actually wanted to upgrade the lenses so I brought them back in-- turns out they did not have blue light lenses and they did not correctly apply my insurance. Kevin was kind enough apply my insurance CORRECTLY and upgrade the lenses to include polycarbonate, blue light & anti-glare. Luckily I brought my insurance booklet with me because there system was completely wrong. He charged the wrong amount to my WEX card and I had to pay with my personal account. He promised that when I came to pick them up they can refund my personal and re-charge the WEX (as I had to call and remove the first 276 dollar charge) With hundreds of dollars in upgrades to the lenses the price went down to $251. I went to pick up my glasses today and get a refund on my personal to charge my WEX. Well they claimed that was impossible & I have to come back in 3 days... grabbed my new glasses and glasses I was returning and put them in a drawer. A heavy set female worker who did not provide her name continued giving attitude as I explained the situation. Then said she will not help me because I was being aggressive. **no aggression was given only facts on the situation** I used my little noggin' and told her okay, I would like a refund on these new glasses. She refunded. Then I said okay-- May I place an order for a new pair of glasses? Which she then went through the process AGAIN to create a new order-- which I paid for on my WEX card. Then she handed me the new glasses and said have a good day... 50 minutes later. If you are happy spending over 3 hours ORDERING a new pair of glasses (No exam-- just to order) then this is the place for you. If I could give negative stars I would. When I had to return a pair of glasses, the guy who helped me was so rude and had tons of unnecessary comments and questions and even said he couldn't understand why I had to place an order if I was going to return it. I was sitting there to explain to convince him why I need to return but he didn't stop. After I asked if there was any problem, he finally stopped. One more, he said they texted me for the order status but I never received. Rude and sub par service. There are so many other good places for contact lenses and glasses. While the customer service here is great and I like the optometrist, every time I go to find out the price of prescription glasses I want to order, they put the wrong frame allowance for my insurance plan and quote me for a much higher price. When I bring up my benefits online they literally adjust it right away. This has happened 3 different times, including the most recent time I went to get a pair. We also got quoted for non prescription sunglasses for my boyfriend and the same thing happened. Makes me wonder how many people are getting ripped off. I came in on October (the month my newborn was born) for contacts and glasses. My glasses came in two weeks later and they came in without the lenses they made me go in and pick them up & then notified me that they only had the frame and not the glass lens. They also told me my lenses were not in, I went in 4 times and called several times to follow up. No one called me until late January(3MONTHS) later to see how my prescription trials were. I told them that I have been waiting on them to call me for a trial class. They called me until late February and I picked them up early March. I tried my trials and they were done wrong. They didn't want to redo my prescription and they wanted to charge me $95 AGAIN. because I went over the 60 days when clearly they called me after the 60 days. Let's not start about how my moms glasses also came messed up and she had to return FOUR TIMES. I'm REALLY disappointed. They didn't even try to help me. I nicely informed her my disagreement and asked to speak to store manager. She informed me she was not available at moment, suddenly, a lady comes out from back doesnt greet me and ask Maritza if there's a problem. Like really!! Her name is Virginia (she states I'm the store manager) I said nice to meet you, she gave me a smurk. I told her the situation, she said my employee made a mistake on price....????? Like really!? Theres nothing i do, but give 10% off. No!! I asked the young lady 2 to 3xs the price and she cofirmed. Once scan price was different. Unfortunately, the so cal manager owner what you want call her was not helpful, plus an attitude. Sadly, people don't know and ignore the importance of customer service. We keep them running. I will never return back to that location. Virginia and Maritza need training in appropriate way of interacting with customers. I was hesitant to even go because I've been trying to stay home as much as possible because of COVID but everyone wore a mask (the correct way lol) and Maritza made me feel comfortable letting me know that they take frames people try on off the shelf for cleaning. She was super helpful and showed me different options of the style that I was liking the most. What I liked best was her patience. I was trying contacts on for the first time and she took her time to make sure I knew what I was doing. Dr. Natsumeda was super nice too and made sure that I was comfortable in my contacts. I called to make an appointment--I was worried about doing so at the height of the pandemic--but the woman on the phone assured me that they are taking precautions, including leaving time between appointments to clean. I got there ten minutes before the appointment and saw someone be taken back. I waited for 15 min and was then told there was still someone ahead of me. I saw there were walk-ins on the sign-in sheet ahead of me. So, making the appointment seems to not matter, they don't honor it and they clearly don't leave time between people, not to mention the seemingly very short appointments. Last year I purchased glasses from them. Within a few months the lens coating was coming off. I called the store and was put on hold by the rude manager for over 10mins. 4/25 I called the customer service # and shared my disgust. 4/27 I received a call from the rude store manager telling me that they would redo the glasses because I was "put on hold for 10 mins". After 2 months I contacted customer service again to find out what was going on, As I had not received any additional response from the store. I received a text message 6/24 stating that my glasses were ready. 6/25 I received an email from CS stating the store manager called me on May 8 & 10th leaving a message that they were ready. THIS IS NOT TRUE. There is no way I will be doing business with them as long as this rude liar is working there. Target rethink your decision to hire her as a manager. I'm still fuming . I live in west Los Angeles so it's a 25 mile drive to Target in San Pedro. We like the area and go out there maybe once a month. I made a appointment to have my eye exam because last time I was in I was told my prescription needed renewal. My appointment was for today 9/10 at 2:20. I got a text message a few days ago as a reminder of my appointment. We left in time to have lunch in the area before my exam, actually rushed through lunch to make sure I wasn't late. When I got there I was told the doctor wasn't in today, that they had tried to leave a message for me? Nothing has been wrong with my phone, I got no call, no message , no text. A day wasted, a 25mile drive for nothing. I said you had no problem texting me to remind about appointment, why not text to inform me of cancelation. She said the text to remind is automatic. She didn't seemed at all concerned and when I asked for main office #, she said she didn't have it and her manager was off. I got the customer service # to call but after going through the whole menu of options a recording came on that said the office was closed, this was at 3:00 during their open hours. I was nervous about what was going on but she did a thorough exam and explained everything. It's been a week and my eye feels so much better.
